    they don't stop calling even after they were told they are calling the wrong person. I don't mind them wasting their time but I am running out of patience because of these interruptions.

    This is the law office of Larry Roach. Larry Roach is a roach.
    A piece of advice from a credit expert. I have NEVER seen a lawyer call someone from another state from where the consumer was at, and sue. My advise is yell at them. The company I deal with yells at them and are abusive. You can give out their number and it gets rid of most bad creditor calls. 212-561-5154. Got to go my wife is telling me it is dinner time.

    Received a message on my business phone stating that I needed to call Attorney Lawrence Grivner and ask for Erin. The number was 866-204-3699 ext 3403. The message said you need to call today. First I don't know them, secondly, if you had a bad debt you would receive something in the mail stating it. The funniest part of this is they asked for someone that I don't even know, just the first name. How unprofessional is that in the first place to call a number and even leave a message not knowing if you have the right number.

    This office used to be called Larry Roach, and thats all they are, is f***in roaches that somebody needs to stomp out. Debt collectors are the scum of this earth. They will harass people and make threats and they act all big and bad behind their phone. They make fake threats, I recommend tape recording any conversation with a collector you can get up to $1,000 for every wrong doing on their part.

    This freakin company called my parents in TEXAS to reach me!!! I live in NY!!!!These people do not go proper channels...no written correspondence, just threatening phone calls!  The guy I spoke to was rude!  He told me that if I did not pay the amount he said I owed by 830pm, then they would sue me!!!!  The amount of money that he said I owed was not even accurate, it was almost double, and the account referenced is not even in collections!!!

    These scumbags keep calling me, even though I am not the person they want.  They have threatened to have me arrested if I don't cooperate with them !!!  Highly illegal.  I wrote several letters to the Attorney General of California and Ohio, where they are domiciled, then filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.  They have not answered letters from the BBB or Attorney General's office.   The last time they called, I told them if they did not leave me alone, I would sue them for harassment !

    First of all we are not scumbags. We are peole just like you Michele. Secondly we would have NEVER EVER make any kind of threats towards anyone let alone threaten to have someone arrested. Last time I checked there is no debtors prison anymore. And lastly, if you are the wrong person we are loking for then simply state who you are and that you have no idea who the person is we are looking for. Trust me when I say we certainly don't want to waste your time in your day and we certainly don't want to wast ours. As stated above, stop it, pay your bills and we wouldn't have to call. Answer your phones and respond to our letters and we won't have to "hunt" you down so to speak.

    We don't have to disclose who we are to you. YOU are the one calling. In response of: "if you are the wrong person we are loking for then simply state who you are and that you have no idea who the person is we are looking for".  You should know better...

    Billy that is easy for you to say.  But most times when a collection agency calls you they are so rude and nasty.  Afterall we don't owe you (the caller) anything.  And most times when you (the collection agency) calls you ask for people by their first name.  Which in my opionon you should not do.  Afterall you don't know me.  So you shouuld call and ask for MR. or Mrs. Smith or whatever the last persons name is.  And secondly I don''t know about anyone else if I recieve a phone call that says "unknown name" or "blocked name" I don't answer.  Also I have a block on my phone that prevents a "unknown" or "Blocked" name from getting through.  Companies like yours need to start letting your name show up on our caller id's maybe you'll get a better respones.

    And like I said before stop calling peoples homes and asking for them by their first names.  I know that when someone does I make sure and tell them not to do that.  Addresss me by my last name!!!

    That's the professional thing to do!!

    Well, maybe if you (the collection agency) had better phone manners then you would get bette responses from us.!!!!!!!

    What really upsets me about all collection agencies is that the person that you are talking to on the phone acts like you owe them the money. I've even had some say "just pay the bill" and hang up.  So I call right  back and report them to their "Supervisior" and I tell them that if anyone from you company ever calls me again that you will be sued for harrassment!!

    That's why (If you notice) that all collection agencies are never in the state where you live.

    Cause thaty know that people would be comming looking for them all the time!!

    Informed Consumer
    Sorry, "Nielson", but that is NOT what the FDCPA says:

    § 804.  Acquisition of location information  [15 USC 1692b]

    Any debt collector communicating with any person other than the consumer for the purpose of acquiring location information about the consumer shall --

    (1) identify himself, state that he is confirming or correcting location information concerning the consumer, and, only if expressly requested, identify his employer;

    (2) not state that such consumer owes any debt;

    (3) not communicate with any such person more than once unless requested to do so by such person or unless the debt collector reasonably believes that the earlier response of such person is erroneous or incomplete and that such person now has correct or complete location information;

    (4) not communicate by post card;

    (5) not use any language or symbol on any envelope or in the contents of any communication effected by the mails or telegram that indicates that the debt collector is in the debt collection business or that the communication relates to the collection of a debt; and

    (6) after the debt collector knows the consumer is represented by an attorney with regard to the subject debt and has knowledge of, or can readily ascertain, such attorney's name and address, not communicate with any person other than that attorney, unless the attorney fails to respond within a reasonable period of time to the communication from the debt collector.

    wrong number replies to wow
    Mine was from something like Lawrence & Grivner.  They call and call and call leaving vague short messages on my machine.  I finally had to call them to tell them to stop.  They wouldn't answer any of my questions but expected me to answer theirs.  Don't tell them anything.  Tell them to stop calling and harassing.
