Pay day loan scammers duped me out of $590.00. They had information from 10 yrs ago old bank account and did their presentation so well with information the public did not have access to. This is why I got conned. CFS LLC then the bank pays Waterman Financial as the payee. They are associated with each other as well known scammers I found out after I paid the dang loan. It sounded so legit and Im a smart gal. I guess not.

This number is included with a realistic looking letter that reads it's from The U.S. Dept of Treasury, Bureau of Fiscal Service P.O. Box 1686
Birmingham, AL 35201-1686 but I have yet to find the actual company's name. No matter, I got enough from a quick google search to share information here.  You can google the address and find that it, along with other P.O. Box numbers have sent collection letters to state government entities as well, threatening to collect from 'their' social security check. The number has been called by other victims,some got duped in to paying the so called debt, others were either put in a que or got a recording of 'high volume' calls at this time,  but is connected to a zombie debt collector. Know your Statue of Limitations within your State. If you receive a letter, I would suggest holding on to it in case there is a class action lawsuit file against the company since many of the letters threaten to garnish social security checks.

That letter appears to have been sent out in 2009, you are just getting around to reporting it?

Just got the same letter 3/3/17 thought it was the IRS didn't give them anything.

Got the same letter its from LLC debt collectors

I received the same letter but it doesn't tell me what I owe for or the amount. They are closed today. It looks real to me and I think that the Treasury Dept. has farmed out collections to 3rd parties aka Debt Collectors.

I just got a letter from US Dept. of Treasury in Birmingham, Al.  now according to above posts...this is same place. We do NOT have any old unpaid debts.. Do not want to call that 866 number but maybe somebody else used same SS number and did run up debt. Checked with credit bureau and nothing there stating any old unpaid debts. So suggestions?? Do not want garnishment done to SS check as it is small enough as it is.........

I just got this letter on 3/11/17 from US Dept. of Treasury in Birmingham, Al.. The same data as stated adove.

I got a letter in the mail on 03/10/2017 threatening that "Funds may be withheld from your Social Security Benefit Payment".  My wife called 866-213-1714 and waited on hold for 28 minutes before hanging up. the phone numbers on the letter do not show up on the website fiscal.tresury.gov/top

Received same letter from U.S Department of Treasury dated 03/08/17 threatening to take funds from my SS funds. called the 866-213-1714 keep getting recording that all customer service agents are busy and to call back later.  The letter states that I owe the 'Bureau of Fiscal Service' I do not owe the Federal Government anything period. These people need to be stopped!!!!!

I called the number given 1-866-213-1714 at 11:30 am and let ring until 5:30 pm with the same statement hold on for the next Customer Service Rep 6 hrs never a Customer Rep
I am going to check with the VA to see if they are using this service

Just got a letter today dated 3/8/17. Looks suspicious.

I also recd 2 letters
Called # and of. Course says customer service is busy call later
I called TOP
As it states on bottom number
800-304-3107
And says federal funds will be held  call the debtor listed .
Of course the debtor listed is 866-213-1714
Very scary
Any suggestions

Has anyone been able to get ahold of this company. I've called for 2 days and keep getting told "all reps. are busy. please call back" Is this how the federal government is doing business? I did read that the federal government had turned over all old debts to debt collectors.

Please show proof of your statement -  "the federal government has turned over all old debts to debt collectors."
