I got a call from this number for the first time.  It was a robot call, asking for my wife by first name and for her to press a key on the phone if it was her.  We don't answer calls whose identity we cannot determine based on the CallerID.  This call hung-up pretty quickly after the answer machine started recording.

This call is surely a scam designed to scare you into paying money on a fake debt or an old debt that has been written-off by the service provider.  My wife is a doctor and is the director of the emergency room at the regional hospital.  She does not owe anyone any money, especially not medical bills.

The best advice for calls from this number is do not answer.  If you end-up speaking with someone, do not give them any information, do not even reveal exactly who you are.  Hang-up on the caller.  Don't be intimidated by their threats.

If you haven't received anything in the mail about a legitimate debt, then any phone calls about a debt are bogus.

Received a robo call asking one of our family members (by name) to call 866-213-7755. I phoned to see what the call was about and got an endless loop of "Thank you for calling the business office" and a request for me to stay one the line until my call could be answered. I stayed on the line for about thirty seconds before hanging up. After reading the posts on this site, I am willing to believe that this is a collection scam of some sort. It seems that the people behind this phone number have access to medical billing records and may be posing as bill collectors.

I do not intend to phone 866-213-7755 again, and would advise other people who get calls from this number not to, either. If I receive another call I will report it to the FCC.

Received a call from this phone number, the phone hung up immediately. I called back they introduced them selves. I asked what company is this? They said "This is from your local hospital". I asked back "what hospital"; they responded "your local hospital, we represent 40 hospitals nationwide, if you could give me your information so we can put it in our system". Then I hung up. Got this call today. It was a message for me to call them back. I hung up and called back but got no answer. Obviously this makes no sense. The automated message said I would need to provide my last 4 of my ssn. Not gonna happen! Actually cant wait for them to try calling back so I can mess with them,  lol.

It is a collection agency!!!!!!! Specifically, they try to collect unpaid medical bills! In my case, I paid the bill in July, and the check cleared my bank that long ago, but they keep harassing me as though it is still unpaid. I suggest you call the original billing department and tell them they better stop the harassing collection calls or you will turn them in to the Attorney General of your state!! This should take care of it!!!

When you do get a live person from this number ask them for their name, address, and telephone number. Then, sit down and write them a letter telling them to 'cease and desist' contacting you via any media whatsoever and they MUST stop!  It is against collection law to call and harass you. The only time it does NOT stop is if the collection calls are coming from the hospital and they have an in-house collection dept. Independant collections have to stop or get shut down!

It was a legitimate call. It was a off-site billing department for our local hospital calling about a co-pay owed for my wife. Based on the previous comments, my guess is they are a 3rd party billing agency used by hospitals for collection purposes.

The people at the hospital copied our address wrong which is likely why we got the call. It was a little soon for a collection call about our copay since we got the bill (oddly enough at the correct address) maybe a week or two ago. I will say the woman I spoke with was very polite and understanding.

The number is the central billing office of a hospital facility (not the hospital itself but who they contract with to do their billing) this includes any hospital employed physicians.  So, while you may not have a hospital bill, you may have been treated by a physician who's billing is handled through the hospital they are employed with.  Bottom line, if you have a bill, you need to pay it in order to get them to stop.  If you definitely do not owe any facility for any care received then its best you speak with them to get to the bottom of why they're calling your number.  I just called it & wasn't asked to give any information but they defiinitely had mine.  I know I have medical bills, that I actually pay, therefore have no problem speaking with them directly nor have had any problems dealing with them. They are always kind & curteous!

Unfortunately  it is legit , and you do owe the debt or have owed it for years.. I know I do, my ins. didn't pay for my surgery and I got stiffed with the bill after being injured on the job 5 yrs ago. The number is representing Medwest, a hospital here in NC.  But this number is in a network so it won't show up as a local no. in your calling area. Like everything else nowadays, press 1 then you get directed to another no. then follow prompts which leads you when all is said and done you have finally got transferred to 3 people or more, when I think all along its the same person. Maybe they working out of a warehouse or former slaughterhouse. Wouldn't surprise me these cos. set up their little fly by night operations anywhere. This is what you get into when you fight workmen's comp, you always lose. Get hurt on the job and you are ruined, they don't pay a work related injury especially when the bosses lies and pays off an employee to be a lying witness for them, sure happened to me.

Leaves messages on my phone wanting me to call them back.
Rude lady will only tell me she's with the 'Business Office' and when pressed, she says it's the business office for my "local" hospital. She won't provide any other information.

The phone rang once and then went to missed call. After a minute I got the signal of a voice mail. The voice mail gave my name in a bad computer voice, then another voice which sounded more natural but was difficult to hear said "Please disregard this call."

    Weird!

I received a call. IT was on a hosp. bill. But they said they were sorry and to disregard the call. That it was taken care of. It was a mixup on my insurance. But it was taken care of. I try not to get upset or ruled to someone. They just have a job to do. Better to be nice and they then don't know what to do. Even if they sound like it is them you owe the bill to. Just be nice it is your phone if it rings pick it up if you don't want to talk then hang up God bless

This number has been calling a large group in our area, they say they are collecting for your local hospital.  They want private information.  Contacted the local hospital, they said this number is not associated with them, they do all billing internally, to give them nothing.  SCAM!!!!!

"Kind and courteous" people and businesses do not make robo-calls and ask you to call them back without any identifying information. Sorry, I don't return those kinds of calls.
