ref. #: 386350. I do not know why they contacted me. I think your looking for another Greg Green. Some of the numbers are unlisted (for obvious reasons, I presume).

Repetitive calling after they have been informed that it is a wrong number. Unwilling to offer details and say they are calling from the state of Michigan

I got a message from 305-400-0000 that said "Miami Yellow Ca" on the id, which was very odd. They wanted me to call 866-218-7224 and gave me a name and case reference.

I was hesitant to call after researching the number first, but I did give the number a callback and it WAS the a collection department for the State Of Michigan. I recently paid off some back taxes, but of course, there was a couple hundred dollars in hidden interest that they wanted. They knew exactly how much I paid them off, so that's how I knew they were legit.

If you get a call from them, I'd recommend giving them a call back because that department is the last step before levying and crap like that, so it'd be best to take care of it.

Got a call and they wanted me to call them back but the voice was to fast for me to write the number down, even the so called account number. From what I have read so far it looks like it was from the State of Michigan Collection Dept. Sorry, no job, no money!

I had gotton a call from 517-887-0022 advising me that the Michigan State Depart of Treasury and were trying to collect an out stading debt.. and left a 1-866-218-7224 for me to return their call.
Which I did , then the lady I spoke with advised me I owed a debt , but she did not know what for other that it was from my 2004 income tax return.. Then the lady got pushy wanting my account numbers and where did I bank , where did I work, ect.. I refused to give her any information.. I advised her I was calling my tax preparer and then the IRS which I did and infact I owe them absolutely nothing.
I had to put blocks on my ss# and report this to the police and turn both of these numbers in the fraud task force... I hope these people get caught... Hard working Americans have enough worries about money and bills , the very last thing we need is someone trying to conn us out of something we dont have.... BEWARE EVERYONE ITS A SCAM

Bought a new pay as you go cell phone from Radio Shack.  No one has the number.  I don't even know it unless I have the paper with the number on it.  Have never used it yet....no calls out and no calls in and in comes a call from this number. WTF.

I received the same call from 866-218-7224 from a female giving me a reference number stating it was the State of Michigan.  First of all I know I owe the state for taxes and have already done my paperwork and paid them and have one more payment so I know it's a scam.  I have not yet called the number and after reading one review don't think I will.  But now that I think about it for [***] and giggles I think I will just to see what they have to say.  Now when I call back it says Michigan Accounts Receivable.

I'm tired of getting calls from ph#: 8662187224 , asking for a person who we have no idea about.  This person has the same last name as us.  We have already complained about not knowing this person, but the calls continue.  The calls come at anytime, wether early morning or late evening.  Please make them stop.

This number called me and said i owed income tax from the state of Michigan from 2004, however i knew i did NOT owe money as ive had my taxes done professionally for many years.  The scary part was they had my address from 2004 as well as my name and soc. security number.  

DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO

When i asked to speak with a supervisor and saying i have not been contacted by any other means she said i could speak with a supervisor.  Then she offered i could have the late fees removed if i paid now. RED FLAGS should go up at this point "pay now and avoid fees, just give us your payment information"

Yeah, Right... if this is real pigs fly.

Eventually i said i had my tax documents from 2004 in front of me and i wanted to know what was wrong, she then put me on hold and then hung up.

Who is your primary supervisor, or rather, who is in charge of MARCS?  If you answer with the same answer as my "MARCS Representative" did I will be shocked.

I too got a call  with a old address but my number  not sure how they got my number its not listed.  If you google this number it also has a site that says you better give your information or else because its part of the michigan treasury HAHA   its just them posting it daaaaaa   kinda funny  they are all 2004 taxes, michigan knows my address I am on SSD  and my daughter had a problem with her taxes and no one calls they send letter after letter.  
Its sad that ppl are trying to steel from us I am going to call the local news so they can check this out.

I just received a voice message from 000-000-0000 today, Asking me to call 866-218-7224 regarding a personal business issue with the State of Michigan, and reference #.  I did call and immediately a recording came on stating, that if I wanted more information press ' * '.  Next, a message instructed me that I would receive a text message on my phone with more information.  The text message reads:

" # Info Svc $9.99/mo Msg&data rates may apply for 20 lookups/mo. Reply Help for help www.numsvc.com. Reply Y for info on # you R dialing Reply STOP to cancel "

Also, the address that was referenced was a previous address pre-2007.

I'm just going to throw it out there that you should probably return the phone number if they call.  If you think its a fake you can go to michigan.gov/treasury and search for MARCS or Michigan Accounts Receivables Collection System in the search box and you will see that they are legitimate. Just saying.....

For those of you who may be too lazy to look it up yourself.

I called the number you posted and they say I owe nothing.  Then I caled the other number back and he was saying I owe 800 from 2010.  So the number who called me was a scam.

I just blocked this telephone number. No msg. was left on answering machine but I look up any number that comes in that I don't reconize of has a blocked I.D. This 800Notes site does more to help folks than apparently the entire government, local, state and Federal combined with my carrier (Comcast) can do. The problem here isn't even the scum placing these calls. The real problem is that the carriers are greedy and the government allows/ licenses them to supply this service to the public with no responsibility for their actions. Call your Congressman and tell him/her that your tired of inaction by the carriers and Congress in addressing this problem and the waste of tax dollars supporting the do-nothing people at "DO NOT CALL".
