I want to be on americas next top model and this guy James Kay called me. What should I do? I really want to be on this show but don't trust him or the website. Is there any other way to get on it.

i recieved a call yesterday and today from Ruth Jones.. She asked me for pictures and said that i was approved for a interview next week but i have to pay $299.00 for porfolio fee. Im scared i dont have a stack of money to be giving away... I mean i have kids and well you know..... I need to know if this is scam or not

I work with a talent/modeling agency in Denver. I have never had to pay anything for there services. The whole agency thing is fake if they ask for money because the bigger companies or shows that need people pay those agencies a lot of money to have or find people to use. Don't let them take your money. And these people from "unscripted tv" make things happen WAY too fast. Saying they met with producers the next day get real.

He called me  too said he was meeting with a production team and needed pictures.  He said I passed so now I need to submit 299. I don't know what to do!!!

This is a total SCAM.
My story is basically the same: put my info in, get a call from Ruth Jones (who is a great actress by the way--almost had me fooled) This is how the call usually goes after she asks you one question:
Ruth Jones states: “your good this is the point when I usually have to say goodbye cause the person is no good”
Next she says, after you agree with moving forward that I Must supply 5 head shots today for their meeting tomorrow morning!
Another famous line from her: "you wont disappoint me will you? you want to go through with this right" -"Yes!"
So I do so, I get a call within a few hours: "we looked at your work and are you ready for this?...we would like to move forward with you!" She blabs on how great you are and how much "they" see potential in you.
Then of course she brings the convo back to the money (mind you she had already mentioned the $299 about 3 times in the first convo) she says "so how shall you be paying? Visa? Mastercard?"
I told her I had to wait till I was home to get my $ in order, she said I had one hour to get back to her...like it was the end of the world if I didn't pay her the $299 right away.

I had a few red flags go up in our conversation before I did my research on whether this was legit or a scam.
1. I am 5'2 and want to be on ANTM..obviously I am too short...but wait this next cycle of ANTM they have no height requirements! (which is legit by the way) and its never been done before! Shorties welcome! I was like wait hold on...cycle 13 had 5'7 and under girls on the show.
2. I also said: "Another thing is the charge of $299, Tyra Banks in almost every beginning of a cycle states clearly: NEVER go with an agency that asks for money up front. If the want to represent you because the believe in you never pay out of pocket. Which I find interesting how quickly the payment came up. I understand everyone needs to make a living, but that seemed fishy to me that the creator/producer of the show would say that."

I went into detail about other things and she said I shouldn't believe "bloggers"

I researched on the CW network site where you actually apply for ANTM and there was no mention of Nonscripted TV and that to apply you must send their application in the mail with a short video, photos and the hand signed form.

Everyone seems to have similar stories and lines fed to them by these people.
It was a huge disappointment once I came to the conclusion that this is a scam. It sucks because this is a dream of mine, I've always loved the fashion industry and for someone to take advantage of people following their dreams is f"cked up. I sent numerous emails to Ruth Jones and she just fed me lines.
Its a joke, they are obviously very talented actors feeding off of others and taking their money.

I got a call from James kay from non scripted tv I'm very skeptical of the money thing. Wish I new someone who has went through this company so I know if it's real or fake

I applied for "fresh ideas" for reality shows..I have some great ideas as well as looking for a show that fits my criteria for age, personality etc..
I was called by IRIS- Fox non scripted reality Tv casting company.  Told to send in form along with a variety of pictures min 5-10 shots. Then told not to send it unless I was prepared to pay fee the same week. But if I couldn't pay the $299 then dont send in form with pics attached but wait until I could pay fee within week of sending in my questoniare and pictures! ! The money was what it all came back to and this was to give a edge to producers and jobs because in this business its just sometimes "who you know" . The $299 was for a "lifetime membership" to allow my photos etc to get to producer's and cut through other things likr screening process and " pre interview". Fee is also justified as you are SERIOUS about doing it and its not just a BS application! !
I told her I NEVER heard of paying to apply for a job.
I decided to google this FOX- NON SCRIPTED casting company and its the exact same phone # as the "BUSTED"  comments on this site!
How cruel and greedy to prey on hopes & dreams of anyone.  I explained I am struggling in these hard economic times as is most of America. . But THANK YOU for everyone who posted their experiences!  There has to be a legitimate site to apply or pitch new ideas for "fresh" reality shows on the internet.
Can anyone direct me to the legitimate sites?
Has anyone else had the representation pitch and email/call saying they are casting or using Fox networks name? I am really bummed that this is the case and LEGAL to do to people!

I've read all your post I just finished calling iris fix and told her good try you almost had me with your scam. Maybe they are Canadians and they don't know how to write proper English or they just hired hustlers that get paid a percentage of everyone that pays the $299. The fact is I agree with you completely their poor knowledge of the English language was a big sign and this website help me too. Thank you guys I'm gonna take my wife to a nice dinner with te $300 I just saved !
