its Cogeco cable

Had a message on my voice mail to call this number. Didn't say who they are. And caller display shows a different number. Why should I call them when they don't identify them? They're rude callers.

Cogeco Cable.  Call my house every day.  Sometimes more than once.  Most of the time its dead air if I decided to answer to them.  Most times I just let it ring, and they don't know when to give up when no one answers.

I've been getting these calls from this number and they say they are Cogeco wanting my credit card number to bring my account up to date. I dont have Cogeco as a carrier, I have Bell. To bad you cant reach thru the phone line and slap whoever is on the other end!

This number 1-866-232-9017 is NOT Cogeco. My mom deals with Cogeco, and she told me that this number had nothing to do with them. On Friday, June 8, this year, we got a call from this number 4 times. My mom called back once, and a message told her to call back during office hours. She called at 5 min to 9.

Call every day

Why would they call if they're not owed money?  They call 2x's daily and don't identify themselves. Businesses should be required to show their identity. What are they ashamed of. I don't answer "unknown" callers as I don't want to be bothered by sellers or con artists. Tell me who you are and I'll answer. And you are soooo right about the service and programs.

New phone number, probably why the last person switched. Cogeco calls every day, sometimes leaves a message. Does anybody know how to get rid of this?

If you are receiving calls from this number and

A) Have Cogeco Cable


     Then: Pay your bills on time, or, call in and provide payment arrangement details as to when you can pay how much you can pay, and how you will make that payment so they can take you off the dialler. If you are on pre-authorized payments then a call from this number means something went wrong through your bank account, or for whatever reason no payment has reflected on your account. Doing this is worth it to stop call and not have your services suspended because you made a payment but didn't tell them about it.


B) If you DON'T have Cogeco Cable

     Then: Call in, give them the number they have been calling to 'bring up account'. Tell them that you are non of the account that would have been brought up (your name is x, address is x)... so they can confirm you are not those customers, and ask to have your number removed from their accounts as they are old contact informations (number) that you now have and no the people Cogeco is looking for.

This number is most definitely Cogeco, I called them back...

I just called the REAL Cogeco number...do not give people at this number any info, they're scammers pretending to be Cogeco.

Its most definetly Cogeco!! Not scammers!!! I'm always late on my bill, and thats why their calling!

I'm sometimes late too paying Cogeco and that's when they call.  Being self-employed means I have to wait until I get paid before Cogeco or any one else gets paid.  BUT I alway pay regardless.  These Cogeco call centres read off a screen and have no value to their reputation.  They must be really hurting if they have to phone you if you are only a few days late.

They also have a tendency to call @ 9PM and "Harass"  before the due date on the bill. I always pay my bill on time and they will "NEVER" get my credit card #.

I am gettting sick of these people calling for being a few days late.  I have been with them long before they were Cogeco (36+ years) and all I get is an ever increasing charge and poor service with outages several times per week.  I am now seeking an alternative service that is less than $300 per month which was $89 only a few years ago.  There are small local services that are less than half the price for the same or better service.

I hope to have a call for them.............cancelling their lousy service.

So they call ME when I dot even deal with them....but I have to call them back and basically PROVE to them I am not who they are looking for? Why the hell is it MY %$#$@ job? It is them who have made the error. If telling them is not enough and they expect me to send them PROFF of who I am they can suck my ^%$#. Actually gonna call Cogeco tomorrow and get their home phone hooked up and see how long I can get service without paying before they cut me off. The way I see it, if they can call me twice a day to pay them money I dont owe.....then I may as well owe the money. Right? Screw Cogeco.

I too had this message to call cogeco credit at this number.

I called the number on cogeco website though instead and as i suspected everything is fine with my account.  never a late payment and they PAD my credit card which is in good standing.  I totally suspect this is a scam
