Got a call from Cogeco saying to call this number. Called the number listed on their web page and they did confirm this is the credit department at Cogeco.

WOULD NOT EVEN SPEAK JUST DEAD SILENCE!!!!

DON'T KNOW WHO IT IS WOULD NOT EVEN ANSWER WHEN I SAID HELLO.

This number is the Cogeco IT Dept.  Most likely following up if you had trouble with your internet service.

This is indeed Cogeco calling on an overdue account, but you should ignore it and call them back at the number on your bill.

I started getting calls from these guys twice a day last week. I called back once and was told its the credit department. First of all, I'm 16 and their calling me on my cellphone. My cellphone should be in no way linked to cogeco. Second, I obviously don't have a credit card, so why are they calling ? Lastly , my parents Cogeco account is paid via bank account automatically so there's no possible way that we are late on payments - and if we were, again, its my cellphone.

These people claim to be Cogeco's collections department, however, they have purchased old debts from Cogeco and are now trying to collect on their purchase.  They claim that if you do not pay that your service will be discontinued.

I have checked with Cogeco and there in nothing showing on my account. These people are trying to collect on less than $50.00 from a previous account (in my name, yes, but not mine) of more than 7 years ago. I have been a Cogeco customer for that entire time and have never had a problem. I have also checked my equifax report and can see no evidence of this past debt.

Presently I owe them for two months of service. That is why they are calling. They just called me now and didn't leave a message. If you have made any payment or agree to make a payment then they won't bug you anymore. I went through this with them once before in the past.

it is cocego ,,,that is them telling you to call back during office hours...it`s the collection or credit department concerning and overdue bill.

Correction...it is cogeco cable ...they left a message to hpne their office right away the only thing is we dont even have cable with them :S

No this is NOT Cogeco . I called the number in my phone book and spoke to someone. They check my account and said there was fine there are no issues with my account and  they did not call me. They said it was someone trying to commit FRAUD by getting your personal information. DO NOT TALK TO THESE THIEVES!

Message left for me on Jan 7th. I am all paid up with my cogeco account, so have no idea why this call came in UNLESS it is either a scam using a cloned number or a simple service call to see if we're content with our current cable plan. NOT calling back -- let them call me.  GIVE NO CREDIT or BANKING information over the phone!! You never know.

Called and asked for my birthday

They called me - on a SUNDAY- so I doubt they're bill collectors. Not only do I not have Cogeco, I'd never even heard of them before googling the number. I answered, said hello- and some man said hello, I said nothing and he hung up.
