This "law firm" is bogus. I received a collections letter from them in May of 2015. When I opened it up, the letter is dated Nov/13/2012. It lists two case numbers for tickets dated Feb/9/2001 and Jun/21/2011. Are you paying attention so far? Did you read all those dates carefully? These people are so full of cramp that it's coming out of their ears. I've paid EVERY ticket that I've received in the past twenty years in a timely manner. If not, I would've received a suspension notice long ago. I will be reporting these scheisters to whoever it is that you report scam artists to. I'll be stopping by the courthouse Monday morning to find out who I should contact. Don't give these [***] a dime. They're thieves.

I'm calling your bluff. You're full of crap and you know it. It's obvious that you work for these thieves and are not who you claim to be. The only people who are afraid of you and send you money are complete idiots that are afraid of their own shadows.

"legal". yeah, right. you scumbags are about as legal as money laundering. you have a lot of balls to be making the empty threats that you've posted here. just on principle alone, I'm going to assemble a class action lawsuit against you. you should go and find gainful employment in an honorable profession while you still have an option to do so.

The person ytou are asking that question of posted here 6 years ago and hasn't been back around.  The name of the company is in the first post on the page.  The BBB is a toothless organization with no law enforcement powers.
This is where you need to make complaints to:
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

Well Budd Hibbs died a while ago.  The post she replied to was 6 years old and probably correct at the time.  Not sure what collectors exposed was.  The two links i posted though are good.

Collectorsexposed.com was similar to 800notes' 800Aux, a moderated website in which people shared information about rogue debt collectors.

I miss Budd. When no one else seemed to care or do anything, he was always there advocating for the powerless.

Here is everything you want to know about this outfit:

    1976
Recent law school graduate Dale Linebarger and another attorney found a small tax collection firm, Calame Linebarger, in Austin.

    1980
San Antonio attorney Oliver Heard and law school buddies Thomas Goggan and Steve Blair start their own tax collection firm — Heard Goggan & Blair.

    January 1982
New Texas tax law takes effect, which allows private attorneys to collect delinquent taxes and charge a 15% fee on top of what taxpayers already owe.

    1984
Heard and other partners buy a nearly 2,000-acre hunting ranch and name it "3348 Ranch" after part of this new tax code.

    February 1998
In a surprising twist, bitter rivals Calame Linebarger Graham & Pena merge with Heard Goggan Blair & Williams to become the behemoth they are today (from now on, referred to as “Linebarger.”)

    January 2000
Heard passes away, and "scores of politicians” attend his funeral, according to a local news report.

    2001
Expanding its reach across the country, Linebarger begins collecting debts for unpaid parking tickets for Miami-Dade County. The firm goes on to collect for everything from traffic citations to domestic violence fines for many other Florida counties, charging up to a 40% fee. A similar law, in Texas, would allow the firm to tack on a 30% fee for the same kind of debts.

    October 2002
Partner Juan Pena and a Linebarger lobbyist are indicted for allegedly bribing council members to land a contract. Despite proclaiming his innocence in an email to clients, the firm drops Pena’s name, becoming Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson. Pena eventually pleads guilty to bribery charges and is sentenced to 30 months in prison.

    March 2006
In a major win for the firm, Linebarger is one of three collectors chosen by the Internal Revenue Service to go after federal back taxes. Linebarger had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars lobbying for laws -- including the one that allowed the IRS to begin using private collectors. But the contract would be short-lived, ending around a year later.

    2006
Partners buy out five of the firm's founders and top partners for between $25 and nearly $60 million each, according to a lawsuit and interviews with former partners.

    July 2008
The Louisiana Supreme Court rules that the high fees charged by Linebarger and other firms that were collecting delinquent taxes for the City of New Orleans are unconstitutional.

    February 2011
Former Linebarger partners sell 3348 Ranch for more than $1 million. Current owners say mementos from decades of entertaining clients were left behind, including shell casings, dozens of liquor glasses, steak knives and ranch and client memorabilia.

    2014
Top partner DeMetris Sampson retires from the firm. Her retirement comes months before the federal indictment of Dallas County commissioner John Wiley Price on bribery charges. While Sampson has not been accused of wrongdoing, her name was mentioned in an FBI search warrant of Price’s home. Price has entered a not guilty plea and is awaiting trial. Efforts to reach Sampson were unsuccessful, but her attorney said "her retirement had nothing to do with Price."

Note: Sources include court records, firm information, media reports and interviews with former Linebarger partners and others with knowledge of the firm.
