If you would explain calmly that you are receiving calls for multiple persons, and that you are not any of them, and request them to search the # to see how many files have that duplicate i am sure they would be glad to help you. but if all you do is scream and hang up, how is that any different from any other angry person they're calling? they will assume you are the person they are trying to contact, and will try again as soon as legally possible. just sayin, a little courtesy goes a long way

We get a call from them twice a week. I never answer. I was by them we owe money for my son when he was in the hospital but they can't tell me the dr. name, date of service or which hospital so I ignore them.

This Medical Collection company calls to collect on medical bills.  The bill could be for a secondary item which means that say perhaps you had a tooth extracted and they had to test the tissue removed.  Well your dentist would charge you for the tooth being pulled BUT ANOTHER MEDICAL COMPANY WOULD TEST THE TISSUE THAT HAD TO BE REMOVED AS WELL. THAT IS WHAT THEY WOULD CHARGE YOU FOR.....a secondary procedure.  Well given that information......this company also WAITS to call you for a couple of years you see and what are the chances of you keeping a receipt or even remembering the bill OR even the procedure you had done.  So they call and call.  Well I had kept the receipt.  You see....they think they can fool you with old bills.  They are extremely rude as well.  So if you do not know what they are talking about try and remember a medical procedure you had done either at a dentist office or doctors office AND they call that office.....have them call the number because chances are you paid the DOCTOR OR DENTIST FOR THIS PROCEDURE AND THEY DID NOT SEND THEM THE MONEY   !!!!!

I also have received the calls and they indeed are for co pays and deductibles that I owe. They worked out an arrangement for me and are being very helpful. I was able to get them to take off 30% of what I owe as a settlement. I know this still counts against you, but was the best that I could do and they helped out. Before speaking to them the calls and messages were very annoying but they have to do what they need to get the money owed. (within reason)

I verified with St. Mary's hospital that they are indeed the collection agency these bills were directed to.
    Hope this helps someone else!

Definitely phishing. They've been calling me for over a year now and leaving the same b.s. message. I had medical bills at one time but I paid them off ON TIME with no problem. I feel bad for anyone who has fallen for this horrible scam.

I just starterd receiving calls from Medical Financial Solutions (866)249-2094 number.  When I phoned back the company rep said that I still owed $28.02 for a co-pay that resulted from a visit to St. Johns Hospital in June 2008.  The caller had my correct DOB and last four of my SSN, but they claim that my home is an apartment on Schoenherr Road in Detroit, though I've never lived east of Farmington Hills.  They also reference a doctor I've never hear of.  I'm sure that I didn't have any services performed by St John's Hospital in the summer of 2008.

I phoned BCBS of Michigan and spoke first to a customer service rep then someone in the BCBS fraud department.  Both confirmed that BCBS has never been billed for services provided to me in June 2008.  I phoned Medical Financial Solutions back and asked for a supervisor.  Like the first MFS rep, the supervisor was adamant that I owe St Johns' $28, but neither would provide an EOB, bill, POC at St Johns' or the Doctor's contact information.  They insisted that the only way to clear this supposed bill off of my record is to pay it or provide them with a police report indicating that my identity has been stolen.

I've Googled Medical Financial Solutions and performed a reverse phone number lookup on (866)249-2094, but all I can find is postings by people with complaints and concerns very similar to mine.

I am a slightly disgruntled employee of a company that competes with medical financial solutions, someone told me that they were going to report my company and mfs so I did a little digging...

    1. If you think that someone is calling you fraudulently, take the nine seconds and search the better business bureau. This company is accredited with an A- rating

    2. If a debt collector calls you with the wrong number, go out of your way to not be confused with the thousands of debtors who lie and tell collectors that this is a wrong number. I am not suggesting that you provide any sensitive information, but if you explain that this is a new number, the old owner of your is a deadbeat and you continue to receive lots of calls from CA's the CA will probably believe you.

    3. You do not need to go to a hospital to have a hospital bill.
I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. Do you really think that your family doctor's office has millions of dollars of state of the art testing equipment for every possible ailment hidden somewhere between the coffee maker and the magazine rack? Anything from a blood sample to simply having your medical files reviewed by a specialist are regularly forwarded to hospitals for review. This generates a separate balance with the hospital, they provided services, you must pay. Things are not free.

    4. MEDICAID/CARE!!! I cannot begin to explain how many people explain to me on a daily basis that my tax dollars pay their bills and they don't owe me anything. ME: "Sir, medicare did pay 49,000.00$ on your behalf and left you with a balance of 129.00$." HIM: "You dirty *$%^sucker, how dare you call me, I have medicaid and not only do I not need to follow up with this social service to ensure that they do my bidding, but I would never have a residual balance, I will not use my unemployment benefits to pay you, the government does not give me nearly enough of your tax dollars for the hard time I spend watching springer!"      *** admittedly an exaggeration, this is how you begin to see people who have been collecting unemployment for more than a year***

If you have questions about a bill, skip the 17 minute argument with me, spend a few minutes of your own time to contact the hospital and your insurance company. Figure out if it is your fault for not following up with an EOB, or if the hospital made a coding error. Would you rather a debt collector tell you the bill is for testing and have very little other info, or be able to tell you which type of herpes you have and who you may have contracted it from?

Most of my co-workers are college students who pay their own way through school, most of the people I speak with really make me question if I need a degree or a job. I am pretty sure the government should be doing everything but wiping my ass.

    The One and Only
Received a phone call through my mobile device at approximately 7:35 PM EST on November 9, 2010.  There was no message left, but when I called back - the recording states "Thank you for calling Medical Financial Solutions"....

With health-care costs rising, and Americans unable to pay their deductibles or worse - insurances rescinding coverage - it does not surprise me that a company like Medical Financial Solutions is around and possibly making a lot of money.

It looks like medical debt is rising just like other consumer debt!

    One Nation, Under Debt!!!
