Think for a second. You just got a new phone. They are calling using OLDER MEDICAL RECORDS. Is it possible that your number may have once belonged to a deadbeat? Omg!

So if a hospital has someone contact you to pay the bill you owe using a local exchange it is fraudulent? Did you sign paperwork consenting to be treated and bear financial responsibility? You signed paperwork agreeing to pay for the services you willingly showed up to receive. So pay the bill?  Yeah, pay the bill.

Thank you sir. Thank you for being the voice of reason here. Your doctor has priceless and state of the art medical equipment in his office that he hides from you to make you feel safe. That screening you had, he just put it in the microwave for a while, if it lands face up you are cancer free. He would never send a test to some sort of fancy, high falutin' yankee hospital for testing. Let me assure you that even if he did, those tests are free! You must know a whole lot about the terms in your insurance policy. You are a light in the darkness, a beacon of hope for the willingly ignorant.

If only the confederacy had leadership and insight like yourself...

Got this cell # for US Army Official business about a year ago and these jokers continue to harass me many Fridays around 3:30 pm.  After calling them back three different times (yes sounds like same guy each time) and explaining the situation he/they just can't comprehend that I/The US Army are annoyed, we will be investigating.

used to work for them.  they are real.  the message says 'time sensitive call' and nothing else because it is against medical privacy laws to go into any further detail.  if you get called by them, it would be worth it to call them back at least once to see what is going on - you likely have a bill that your insurance did not pay (for what reason is your issue) or maybe you failed to file it properly with your insurance (your legal responsibility) or you failed to file it within 12 months of the date of service (called timely filing and also your legal responsibility).  oh and we used our real names - i used to work with george!

they are real replies to they are real
they only call accounts that are GIVEN TO THEM by their contracted hospitals / health systems, etc.  there is no scamming or anything going on.

    however:

if they say you owe a bill, you owe it to yourself to check with your insurance or healthcare provider to see if it's all correct and then see if you can take care of it through the normal channels.

if a debt has gotten to "MFS" (medical financial solutions) then the facility has already tried to collect.

trust me when i say most attempts at collecting medical debt are because
    a) people simply do not know how thier own insurance works
    b) the patient has moved without providing new address
    c) the patient has changed phone numbers without notifying medical facility

if MFS calls you, you should know that you are allowed to settle the bill for as much as 50% off.  ask about that.

one last thing: don't like debt collection calls?  ask one of the agents where you can fax/mail a CEASE AND DESIST letter, and once they receive it, they are not allowed to contact you by telephone.  don't know what a CEASE AND DESIST letter is?  google it.

I have been getting these calls for years non-stop from Medical Financial Solutions.  Almost on a weekly and daily basis.  The number is 866-249-2094.  I wish I would have written down every time that they had called.  I just learned recently from a lawyer that that's what I should have done.  I didn't know any better before now.  Apparently I could have sued the hell out of the collection agency.

I called this company years ago and they say I owe a debt.  I asked them what the debt was.  They say I was in the ER for Pneumonia in 2005.  I told them that was impossible.  I also told them that in 2005, I had no medical insurance so I would have never gone into the ER.  Plus I was taking care of my dad who had just had a Heart Attack and Open Heart Surgery.  I could not leave him alone for over 6 months due to complications.  Leaving him one day could have cost him his life.  If I would have gone to the ER, I would have been in no shape to take care of my dad.  So there's no possible way that ever happened.  So this company is calling on a debt, that is over 6 years old and wold no longer be valid anyway.

I've only had Pneumonia once in my life.  It was around 1995 and I had full medical coverage that paid 100 percent.  I was also in high school at the time.  So they couldn't have come after me for that anyway.

I recently had medical visits, as well as last year, where I was billed for my visits due to lack of insurance.  I paid each and every bill with my bank card.  I have receipts in my online account.  Those never went to collections.  So I don't know for what other reason this company would be contacting for, for years over debts I don't owe.

This collection buisness does not just call once a day. They have called every 15 minutes for 2 hours straight a couple of time a week. If this statement is to be true
"the F.D.C.P.A. (fair debt collection protection act) states that the person in reference can be  CONTACTED once a day. "  then this company is crossing the line.
I owe no money to debt collectors. I may owe to an medical facility and I will send payments directly to that facility and that facility can pay to the collection buisness whom they attained their percentage for the continued hasrassment.
With the enconomy in such turmoil people just do not have the cash on hand for medical debts after paying out of your pay checks for the insurance premiums for blue cross blue, united health care etc. It use to be that when you provided the medical facility with your insurance card  that took care of your needs BUT because the insurance companys made arrangements with the hospital to pay a  lessor set amount on procedures the hospital felt they were loosing money. Hence the co-pay was astiblished and people become in debt.

Medical financial solutions has been calling me since Feb 2012 telling me I owe $136 to St Johns hospital. I have never been to St Johns hospital. They had all of my information as well but they had my address on an Ashton St in Detroit. I have never lived at any address that resemblance this. I asked for an itemized statement & it never came. They have started contacting me again telling me to pay the bill. I keep telling them that nothing is coming in the mail & a woman I talked to in June said she was going to send documentation... Again nothing came in the mail! She called again today & I told her I'm still waiting for something showing how I could possibly owe st johns hospital this money. She told me she's not sending another notice & that I misplaced the letter! They finally provided me with a doctors name I've never seen or heard of! And again told me that they will not send me another notice! This sounds like st johns hospital is getting a little sloppy in their billing dept. they told me the hospital sent me several bills too. How would they send me a bill if they had a totally wrong address? I'm sick of these ppl

    More lies
They call saying they are a "Extended business office of ..."  They do not say they are a collection agency.  Be very careful with them.  The law does not allow them to say they are an "Extended business office of ...", as that makes them sound like they are part of a different company, which they are not.

Regarding Better Business, as long as

    1) MFS pays their yearly fees
    2) MFS responds to you, even with half truths.

BBB will give them a A rating.  If you try to follow up about MFS with BBB after complaining to BBB, BBB will close the complaint saying that MFS responded in a timely manner!

A high rating form BBB does not mean that a company is good to deal with, just they responded and paid the fees to BBB.

This company has been calling me for 2 years.  I have explained more than 4 times, that i have 30 years of medical billing experinence.  That the "bill" they are calling me for is 6 years old. The physicans office who billed the claim, billed it incorrectly, ( i did notify the Dr.s office at the time, that is was being billed incorrectly.)  The office then sent me a bill stating that my ins co. didn't respond to the request for payment.  I faxed them proof from my insurance carrier, that they had entered my birthdate incorrectly.  As it was more than a year old insurance co would not pay claim.
I told the drs office i would not pay the bill, because they made an error.  I have repeated this over and over to this company, i have asked for documentation from the office that sent me to collection.  NONE of that has happened.  All i get are the constant calls.
