That just means they already got a hold of all your information and are verifying it before using it for identity theft. Never provide any information or even acknowledge anything without first being positive that you're talking to a legitimate business. Don't trust anyone calling you. Instead, call a trusted number yourself.

I called back the TD Bank Visa number on the back of my card and they confirmed it was them who had called me. They were calling to make sure my card had not been stolen since I had been purchasing railway tickets for my trip to europe.

This is td for sure , you can call their main number and verify, I in fact missed a td visa payment by a week. The woman I talked to when I called the main number (not the one that called me) was helpful and frankly I am glad they called because I ended up with a better card and interest rate.

If you DON'T have a td acct and you get this call I would be worried about identity theft And someone taking a credit card/line of credit with your info, so I would call td direct and make sure thats not what has gone on.

Have a nice night and I hope you didn't just Crap your pants.

This number is TD Canada Trust collections calling. It is usually because you owe them money. The reason they don't ask you to come into the branch is because usually collections are outsourced to a different company. They do not ask for any credit card info, simply your name and number. A general rule of thumb about financial dealings over telephone is if it is legitimate they will not ask for your credit card number or pin. Don't avoid these calls as they can put a hold on any bank accounts you might have with the bank.

Like other callers, I do not deal with TD Canada Trust, do not have a credit card with them, nor do I have a bank account with them, so it has to be a scam.  They say that I am behind in payments which is a total lie.  The credit card that I do have has a zero balance.  Remember, any number can be spoofed, so even though a legit number comes up, don't trust them, never give out your SIN over the phone!

You people sit here and argue beating a dead horse ! It's SIMPLE !

Call the Number on the Back or your card for ALL BUSINESS issues or go into a local branch ! SIMPLE !

NEVER give out ANY personel info UNLESS it is a legit number from the back of your card or from the banks website ! SIMPLE ! PERIOD END OF STORY PEOPLE !

If you get a call from a number that your not familiar with, hang up and call back so that you know your dealing with your financial institution ! Don't call a number back that someone you don't know gives you or your caller ID shows !  Look up the correct number from known resources and call back ! Yes it's a little more work and if it ends up being that the original caller was legit just apologize and tell them your just being cautious ! It's a fraud department they will totally understand !

In this era of computers and cell phones, scammers can hijack legit numbers and make legit numbers show up on your caller ID when it's not the number your really talking too ! Scammers can break into phone switches and do all sorts of things that's why if you call a number you have researched your safe !

NEVER NEVER NEVER give out personel info to incoming callers ! Again like many others have said, your bank has this info and for verification purposes they will only ask for the last four numbers of your SS number ! If they ask for the entire number BE SUSPICIOUS and never give it !

LAST BUT NOT LEAST . . . . Take care of and continually educate and remind your elder friends and family members to never ever give out any of their info ! They often get confused and pressured into giving their info to these scum bags ! What kind of low life p.o.s. preys on our elderly and steals their money they have worked an entire lifetime to earn and save ? ! Really ? These scum bags should be strapped to a tree and shot right between the eyes ! Better yet staked to a bed of red ants in the Nevada desert and left there to die a slow death ! Yes extreme but I HATE thieves that steel from the working class because they are too lazy and stupid to go out and make their own money ! Get a phuking life !

Though I do have legitimate business with TD Canada Trust, this caller doesn't seem connected in any way.

I answer my mobile and say hello, the call disconnects after five seconds. If *any* branch of TD Canada Trust wants to contact me, such unprofessional and juvenile behaviour will surely only send my future business elsewhere.

I called the TD number on the back of my card after reviving called none stop from
This number it is 100% fraud. I have been advised to make a report with the RCMP so if they call you hang up and block number. When I called Td they said they would not call the usually stop your card before hand.

I got an e-mail with the same number atached. It is NOT TD whatever it is a scam. The e-mail i received was a supposed Bank Of America office contacting me stating they do not have my phone number. I called the number and the automated thing asked for account number and social right off the bat. I put some bogus info in and sat on the phone for 10 minutes till someone picked up. They did not ask for my name they asked for my account number and or social. I asked the lady on the phone what was this for and she just said my acct was in defaullt then i asked her which one and then she said my Chase acct. I told the stupid [***] i didnt have a chase acct and she hung up on me... It is a scam ppl. Please call the number on your bill, credit card or bank statement before calling the the number they sent or left on your voicemail. This will protect you big time....
