THEY MAY NOT KNOW YOUR NAME BUT THEY WERE INTENDING TO CALL YOUR NUMBER. THEY ARE PHISHING FOR YOUR PERSONAL, AND FINANCIAL INFORMATION. IT IS BEST NOT TO TALK TO THESE PEOPLE AT ALL. CHECK YOUR CREDIT REPORT OFTEN.

Someone from this number has been calling me every day, sometimes more than once a day. My policy is to not answer numbers I don't recognize, and I won't return calls to someone who doesn't have the decency to leave a message on the machine. Here's the best way to deal with all these auto dialer [***]..... answer the phone, then set it down and walk away. A couple minutes later, turn off the phone. It really messes with their auto dialer routine.

we have been receiving these annoying calls for weeks now. They call at least 2-3 times a day, usually at the same general time. They never tell me what they want, and you can't block their number. Never leave a message either. Extremely annoying!!! They called at a different time the other day and I simply told them hey, it's 9 am. You're late!! How do we make them stop?

They continually call but never leave a message.  When I do a reverse call back it states that it is an international number.

I think I figured out what this company is doing.  It is a debt collection agency.  The person they asked for has the same first initial and last name as me, but the person's first name is different.  My phone listing is under my first initial and last name only.  So it seems that they are just pulling any phone listing that might be a possible match, knowing that they are probably bothering a lot of the wrong people with the same initial and last name.

We have been getting calls from 866-265-7685 for several months now.  One night last week my boyfriend answered and they asked for him by name saying they were a collection agency, it was also 9:30 at night.  My boyfriend told them we were in bed and hung up.  They still call every day, several times a day and I sit here and listen to their recording on my machine, but nobody ever leaves a message.  Now my caller ID says unknown number and it is the same recording.

hahaha I received a call from these jokers just now.  I work for a collection agency myself and within one phone call to me I was able to identify at least 3 violations of the FDCPA.  They call me everyday which is NOT in the realm of reasonable contact.  Then they were guilty of third party disclosure by discussing the debt with me ONLY by confirming my name and not address or last four of social.  Plus the first [***] I spoke with didn't even read me a mini miranda.  Every contact with a collection agency they should say the following to you verbatim "This is an attempt to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose."  so after speaking with the first rep I called back and I put them in their place

This number (866-265-7685)shows up on my  caller ID several times a day. The anwering machine picks up the call and they only say hello trying to catch someone answering the call. Or, they leave a message saying that this is very important that the call be returned. Seems as if it may be a collection agency? I have nothing in collections.

It is probably a wrong number.  Or they could be collecting on an account you might know about.  I would call them back and see if you have an account there, check into it a lot of people I call have accounts in collections and not even know it, also listen for a name being asked for in the message left on your machine.  Hope this helps and if you have any questions about FDCPA and collection agencies let me know.

American Express and Capital One must have finally gotten word that Americans will NOT deal with debt collectors calling from India with  such names as ‘Bob Rogers’ and ‘Lisa McDonald!

Anyone who hires collectors form INDIA should be aware that no one in America wants to deal with them. These people are far removed from any type of training that gives them credibility and how DUMB an organization do you have to be to move all our private information overseas?

I urge anyone receiving calls from this or any other overseas debt collection organization to NEVER deal with them. You can waste as much of their time as you want because they will talk to you forever. Make them spend as much time as possible on the phone, tell them to send you validation notices, then tell them to do it again, they are NOT that savvy.

I doubt you will ever get involved in a lawsuit because once programmed, INDIA debt collectors run on auto pilot forever, so instead of getting mad,  have fun with them. Keep them at arm’s length; let them think payday is just a few days off, then start all over with the validation. The more of their
time you waste, the more money you make them spend, the less chance of anything escalating. These are VERY nice people, just in the wrong business. They get paid whether you send them money or not, so DON’T send them any money. Make their handlers pay for all the wasted time, calls and documents. NEVER give them you’re banking information.

CAUTION: I recommend you NEVER disclose your bank account or credit card information to a debt collector, as you risk them emptying your account, or maxing out your credit card. If you feel they are reporting on your credit bureau files in error or need assistance in dealing with them, email  the details w/your location.  Assistance and referral to a consumer legal specialist may be available.

I have received a couple of calls from this agency over the last few months.  They are looking for my late husband's first wife.  The crazy thing is that he's been dead almost 5 years, they've been divorced for more than 20 years, she's never had anything to do with this phone number or address, and the information they have for her is about 15 years old.

Even though I give them the last information I have for her and explain that I've had no contact with her for more than 4 years, then request that my number be taken out of the file, they continue to call.  I guess now it's time for a www.donotcall.gov report on them.

This number has been calling me multiple times a day for weeks. I answered a call last night to tell them to stop calling and the guy asked me if I was <different first name> <same last name>. I'm not and nobody related to me has that name. I have no idea why they would think this person lived here just because we have the same (very common) last name.

I told him I was not that person and he needs to stop calling because I don't owe him money and he's trying to scam me (I hadn't realized it was a valid collection agency, I thought it was someone trying to scare me into giving him my CC # over the phone). He got mad, I got mad, and I hung up. He then called back less than a minute later and started yelling at me and saying, "HOW MANY TIMES A DAY DO YOU TELL LIES, Anita?" I'm. Not. Anita. I hung up again. Then called back to state that they needed to remove my number and they were violating laws. The call went to the same guy who yelled at me some more.

This morning, by 9am, I had two more calls from them. I called the state AG's office and then told me to call and ask for their business name and address so I could file a complaint. Called (with caller ID blocked) and asked for name and address right off and then told them I needed it to report to the state attorney general's office. Then they were all polite and helpful and assured me my phone number would be removed from their call lists. I'm not counting on it yet, but at least they didn't scream at me this time.

All the reps either have Indian or British-sounding accents.

I have been harrassed for MONTHS now with daily calls which won't stop. I got a new cell phone number when I moved to another state, and apparently the guy before me didn't pay his bills. I have informed these callers COUNTLESS times that I am not the guy they're looking for, but the calls keep coming, many times 6x's per day! I can't confirm an address or company name to send a cease and desist letter. These guys are the worst form of vermin and our government is letting them get away with it.

I get these call several times a day. I never get a message. Since it is on my cell phone there is a listing of each time they call. Is 7 times in one day considered harrassment? I think that is the least amount of calls I have recieved in one day!
