These people call me daily, asking for someone who does not live here.  I have now taken to answering the phone, and then setting it down and ignoring it until they hang up.

Got a call claimed to be a debt collector for a credit card company. A cc I never have had. Said as this was a wrong number he would remove it. We will see.

Got two calls today from the same number asking us to give a neighbor and "urgent message"  Told the lady from India that we don't know that neightbor and we do not provide messenger service!

I want to thank Lamet for posting on July 28. I tried the numbers given and they are no longer good. I did get a number change on one though. Seems the company moved from California to Irving Texas. This will get fixed since I live in Ft Worth and will go to their business if necessary! I have been called 19 times in the last 2 weeks. They have never left a message. My wife did talk to them once and told them they have the wrong number but the calls have not stopped. My next step is to look up the number of the company and call there. I hope to get to a high level person. If so I will post their number here and you can return the favor by calling them each time they call you! You can leave a message that it is important that they call you back and then not state what it is about. Lets see how they like it!!!

Yes, they are from India and they are pushy. They wanted information, very detailed information about my neighbors. I called them back and told them to remove my name an number from their records. They then reported they had no knowledge of the call, liars, and then told me I could not report them - well you can, call your Attorney General's office for your state.

Yup, calling me four or fives a day. Left one message with no ID but demanding I call back. Sorry, not calling you unless I know who you are. Have answered a few times but no one's there. Sorry I'm not holding for you when you CALL me. Called back and got some rude Indian woman who would not identify herself, she put me on hold and then came back looking for this frickin' woman who has been giving our number for four years now. Anne Milim or whoever you are: a pox on your house.
We'll see if they stop calling.

Starts calling at 8 AM every hour on the hour.

Here the way I stop them from calling me most of the calls are from a auto dialer and when the get a number that been disconnected the tone you here auto delets your number from the auto dial so I recorded some one number that was disconnected and now that on my answer mich the think the got a bad number works ever time

I keep getting calls from 866-265-7685 and the phone either rings once or twice and there is nobody there when I answer. Its very annoying!

The 866-265-7685 keeps calling every hour until about 9:00.  But never leaves a message and when I try to return the call all I get is a recording saying the person is not available.

I keep getting phone calls - roughly 10 a week, the last couple of weeks.
Phone calls show up as + 86 62657685 on my cell,
which looks like a Chinese number (+86 = China),
but I figured it must be the U.S. number (866) 265 7685 (note: the digits are the same).

Hopefully more people will sue them.

I keep receiving calls from this number asking for one of two people. They used to call every day now it is weekly. I have told them many times to quit calling me and that I don't know who they are looking for. If I don't answer they just keep calling back until I do.

Under the TCPA, a consumer has a right to file a lawsuit and recover $500 for each call that violates the TCPA. The TCPA can also be used in conjunction with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act in some situations.  

Generally, the TCPA does not apply to debt collectors making collection calls to debtors. However, if you are subjected to calls from a debt collector and you are not the debtor, you may file a lawsuit against the debt collector under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the TCPA.

This right was recently recognized by Judge Legrome D. Davis in a case called Watson v. NCO Group, Inc.  NCO Group is a debt collector that uses automated prerecorded collection calls.  In this case, Mr. Watson alleged he was getting hundreds of calls from NCO Group after he got a new phone number. Mr. Watson claimed he owed no debt to NCO Group, Inc.  Mr. Watson filed suit under both the FDCPA and TCPA.

David Israel, defense lawyer for NCO, argued that the TCPA should not apply to debt collectors.  Judge Davis rejected the argument made by David Israel. The judge ruled that Mr. Watson had a right to sue NCO Group Inc under the TCPA for $500 for each call.  Judge Davis wrote;

[The] Court is convinced that a non-debtor's rights are in fact violated when he is subjected to repeated annoying and abusive debt collection calls that he remains powerless to stop.

Judge Davis' ruling was based upon his interpretation that collection calls to non-debtors violate the privacy rights provided by the TCPA.  

So what can you do if you receive "wrong number" calls from debt collectors?

1. Sign up for the Do-Not-Call registry.
2. Save the calls captured by your voice mail or answering machine.
3. Contact a consumer lawyer.

I've been getting calls from 1-866-265-7685 everyday.  I don't know what these calls are about and I am not interested.  I am very frustrated and would like to figure out away to block these calls.  I hope by reporting these unwanted calls, it will stop.

Lastest is number appears on cell caller ID as +86 626 57685. If you put it together it is the same idiots. AT&T  has been notified. Maybe somebody can notify the other phone companies. As per my normal response when I receive a call from an unknown number I just ignore it and delete it later.

At first i thought it was a wrong number but now they call more and more often, its to the point where its really annoying.

I kept getting calls from the 866 # and also an "unknown number" at weird times  (like 8 am on a SUNDAY). I finally called and an Indian guy answered and I asked to be not called and he asked if I was so and so and if my address was such and such. I was not so and so and it was the wrong address too. So he said he'd take me off the list. Very quick. Should have done it months ago.
