I have been getting the same calls from Brenda Nelson and never called back because she didnt specify what company she was calling from. So happy to find this thread to confirm my thoughts on thinking it was a scam because it is!

Gotten many calls from this Brenda Nelson saying same thing about a student loan. I’m 73 years old and only did high school. How do we stop this. Can’t law enforcement track down this woman. Does not sound like usual robot call .

I just received two voicemails from the same person. "Hi this is Brenda Nelson calling, I am calling to discuss some recent changes that will affect your loan payments. And i'd like to give you a reference number to use when calling, which just makes things easier. You're reference number is: 330005". Since I just got my loan statement last week showing me my payment, i was suspicious and thought i would google the number if it didn't show that it was from Navient, it has to be a scam. I was going to log into Navient and just make sure but after reading the above comments, clearly I do not need to. Navient doesn't have trouble reaching me, so I am sure if there was an issue, I would get something in my email or by mail at home. These spammers that never stop calling need to be dealt with! It's getting rediculous. I barely check my voicemail on my cell phone anymore, i get tired of deleting the mass amounts of spam calls just to find the real messages and I pay for the extra spam blocker too! I am sick to death of this. Have half a mind to call someone at that number and give them a piece of my mind!

they are sending a silent Voicemail with no ring, making you think this is legit. the same reference 330005

Also recieved the same exact message from "Amy Nelson"

We too got a call on our message machine from a Brenda Nelson regarding a recent change to a federal student loan repayment.  Phone 866-612-3003, reference 330005.  This is the second type of call in a year like this.   The first one was a hoax.  All correspondence regarding student loans should be handled via mail.  I am not going to call them back.  Thanks for the advance warning on this.

I keep receiving calls about my student loan, which has been paid off. It does sound very real.

I just received the same message but she said her name was Amy Nelson. All other language was exactly the same. I have never applied for student loans so this makes no sense. Definitely fraudulent and she be avoided completely.

Same experience, ‘i’m Brenda Nelson calling about your federal student loan. Total robo call. I’ve never had a federal student loan. Hope this helps!!

I got the same voice mail message just the numbers reference were different. Same I have mine payed a long time ago. Def. Spam.

Same message and I have NEVER had a student loan of any kind.  Called from an Iowa # but left 866 call back number.  Can't these people get a real job?
