- GretchenI have gotten 3 different calls from 2 different people. One was from a woman name Carol who was calling regarding my dachshund puppies, and requested more photos to be emailed to her with full price details. She said she was in New York and would pay shipping. The email address she gave me carodray@gmail.com was fake. Then 2 different calls on 2 different days from Mike Coach (leaving a voice mail both times) and the same thing asking if my puppies were still available and wanted more pics emailed to him and price etc. First email address was Mikecoach20@yahoo.com and the second email address was mikecoach60@yahoo.com. I sent photos to first email address and he did not respond, then he called again this morning and left a message on my voice again but when the email address was the different from the first one I got suspicious and replied from my gmail address (instead of my work email address like I originally responded from) stating the puppies were no longer available. I have extensive experience with the deaf and hearing impaired and I KNOW THESE 2 PEOPLE DO NOT ACT LIKE TYPICAL DEAF PEOPLE!!! They don't use the correct TTY language and protocal. I feel deeply that these people are taking advantage of the relay service as a means to keep their phone #'s from appearing on any caller ID. And this sounds like some kind of a huge SCAM or other illegal activities.
- Vicki SiedowIt appears to be a legitimate number, however phone scammers sometimes use such services as a layer of protection. Don't automatically trust or mistrust calls from this number. You will need to treat each call individually, being aware that there is a slightly stronger possibility than normal that it may be a scammer calling.
Another comment, my caller ID gave the number with the name Francis Mendoza, for what that's worth. - bill in Georgia| 1 replyWondered why all the calls from "Toll Free Service"
Thought it was a collection service then Googled to find this site.
Have not answered but may now just for fun.
It is sad to see someone exploiting others but after
reading this I will pick up and talk to "Mike" or "Carol"
Keeping your friends and family informed about this is the best way to stop these people. Thank you to whomever built this site.

- AlanRecieved a call from a incoherant woman last Friday. I don't know what she wanted or what this call was about....smeels like a scam.
- db| 2 repliesI received several calls asking me to e-mail info about our puppies for sale. He said that he wanted to buy the dog for his son'sbirthday and he lived in staten island, He would send me a cashiers check and when I cashed it, i was to send a portion of the money to his agent so that he could come and get the puppy. On the third call , the floor manager of the service came on and said they could not verify the called and said it sounded "fishy" I told her i thought the whole thing sounded funny also. She disconnected the call and I have not heard from him again.

- Carole AugustinI too received a call exactly like the one described above. What gives with this guy?
- DEBIE| 1 replyCalled and ask me about a puppy I had listed for sale, gave me a non existant yahoo email address to send pics of the puppy to ... Caller ID said "US GOvernment" ??? Email came back as a "mailer deamon" PagCole11@yahoo.com was the email address given and doesn't exist......BEWARE!
- puppy sellerWe received a call from a servce that was helping a deaf person contact us about puppies that we were selling. The person offered $50 more than the price that were asking for the puppy. The person stated in an e-mail that he was buying the puppy for his sons birthday, and that he lived in Staton Island, NY. The person was going to send additional funds so that we could pay his courrier service when they came to pick up the puppy. Having a suspicious nature, I googled the person mikecoach60@yahoo.com and found that this is yet another scam that this person is pulling on people trying to make ends meet in this difficult time. Please get these people before they hurt someone. This person did get my name and address. Hopefully that is all they will get.

- C. Carroll replies to azsunMIKE COACH is Bogus...He tried to buy a dog from me over two years ago...his language skills are very bad...I think he might possibly be in Nigeria. DO NOT GIVE HIM A DOG..his money orders and cashiers checks will turn out to be fakes....So many people need to be more aware of these types of deals. He used a long distance company that you cannot trace him from....he even left me several voice messages in my home.
MIKE COACH...........BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Scam StopperThis service is being used by SCAM artists, typically Nigerian 419 type scams. The caller is looking to purchase puppies (or anything else). The money orders (counterfeit) come via overnight delivery. One reason SCAMMERS use the service is because the receiver cannot tell the accent of the caller. Another reason is that the service is FREE (the service is federally subsidized) for them to use ~ they don't even pay a long distance phone charge. Some individuals who do not cash the money orders and return the money as instructed ALSO receive death threats via the service. The person has already given the caller their mailing address. Problem: the service does NOT or is not required to obtain enough information (plausible deniability) from the caller to assist in a law enforcement investigation.

- eddieThis is a service for the deaf. They called my company today and I was little confused. It's my first video/deaf call. The interpreter had to speak with me directly to explain, but I got it all sorted out--it's not a scam.

- Real Estate OfficeThey called for Mr Brown. We have no Mr. Brown at this office. They insisted we do and asked for him using the first name. It happened to be a woman they were looking for. Makes you wonder. Dont they know who they are trying to reach. They refused to leave her a voice mail because she was unavailable.
- Caller: Video Relay Service
- awakenow replies to Fireanicethese people just called me at 3:15 am! they left a voice mail with background noise, but no one said anything.
- Tired of scammers replies to MYou are an idiot! We have three numbers on our account. All three have recieved calls from this number. We know nobody that is deaf. This is an obvious attempt to gain info about random phone number holders. Please do not allow these people to guilt you into giving them your valuable information. It is most certainly being abused by scammers, even if the service was (not any more) legitimate.
- SNATCH HOUND replies to Deaf Clientyou deaf moron! guessing deaf also means dumb?
- BWUUHAHAHA! replies to litebluesneaksThe ONLY calls I get from the deaf service is people trying to "buy" computer equipment from me. Every time I get a call it goes like this...." Do you sell laptops?" Yes, I say. They always want 3-5 and want them shipped next day! I know how this works, I ship it, the CC or Money Order is BOGUS and I'm stuck WITHOUT $$$ for an item I ship. NO THANK YOU. I NEVER fall for that!
