Phone rang twice, when I picked up it clicked like it was a robo-call, then immediately disconnected as though someone had hung up a line.

I continue to receive collection calls from this phone number I have talked with this person William Maroone at extension 263 several times now. He is triygn to collect a bad debt against my daughter. My daughter is a grown adult 29 years of age & has not lived here for over 3 years!
I have given this JERK my daughters phone number and asked him NICELY NOT to call this number again. Yet he continues to do so. So has a Jennifer at ext424 and a Ms Coley at Ext 568. This company has been hired by Banko of America to collect an outstanding sum of money - I have banked with BOA for over 30 years but they would NOT do anything to help me when I called to complain to them to get them to call their DOGS OFF!

First call this morning was at 8:10AM but I just don't answer. Thank goodness for caller ID. They are not looking but for a person that uses my home as a mailing address. I wouldn't give those bottom feeding [***] any information about anyone.

I've been receiving multiple calls from 866 - 224 - 9822 and also 866 - 328 - 8252, usually when I will answer the line will be dead, after about a half a minute the line will disconnect.  I stopped answering the phone when these numbers called and they finally slipped up.  My phone rang and one of these numbers appeared, as usual I ignored it but this time they left a message.  About 2 - 5 minutes later my phone rang from the other number, I ignored it and they too left a message.  It is against the law for a third party debt collection to leave more then one message on the same number in the same day.  It's a form of harrassment.  Also a third party debt collection agency can not call a phone number excessively as to cause annoyance or harrassment.  Northstar Companies is effectively breaking the laws of the FDCPA in more ways than one.  I contacted the Federal Trade Commission about this company and the way they are conducting business.  Northstar Companies of 4285 Genesee St. Cheektowaga, NY 14225  Tel: 716 - 817 - 6770.  If you have been victimized by this company then document times and dates, names and numbers, the more information you can provide the better.

You don't have to be victimized by this companies illegal actions, no one deserves to be harrassed even if you do have a financial debt to a company. Help keep Collections on the straight and narrow.  I worked for one of the most prominent collection agencies out there who actually help people rebuild their credit and it sucks that companies like this one make it hard for the other companies who actually are out there to help succeed.

they try to trick you to call them claiming that they are not a debt collection agency. don't fall for it.

This number called my mother-in-law. I asked who are they with? Northstar. I told them she is not at home. Asked me to take some notes down so she could call them back. I said ok. Not even 5 minutes later the same number called again. The person on the phone sounded different. I asked who are they with. I received this as an answer: "Who am I with? Who am I with? I just wanted to talk to this person." As soon she said that, I kew for sure there are scam. So unprofessional and immature! So I lied, I am the care giver of that person, and they have to speak to me. So they asked me why am I the caregiver, because the person who they wnat to spek to is born 1987. I just answer "you have the wrong person then, goodbye". And I hang up.

I got a call from my brother telling me Northstar called his home looking for me. It was very early in the morning. I am married and never live with my brother. He wanted to know how they got his number. It seems a company named Northstar called there. My brother told them she doesn't live here. Then my brother asked them what they wanted. they wanted me and they brought out another company and needed to talk to me. The nerve of this company calling other people to find me. They have no right to do this.
This is a scam. This company needs to be stopped by the Federal Trade Commission.

I got a call from these people today they asked for me I told them I wasn't home then they went on asking for my sister-in-law saying she applied for a job used me as a reference and her number was disconnected do I have her number what the heck we dont even have the same last name and the phone number I live at is listed under a diffrent name how did they end up calling me what sneeky people I hate liars!!!!!

My grandmother is 67yrs and this guy calls and says that she ows 6,200.00 and they will cut her delt in half but he wants to put it on her target creit card .So I looked up the email address that he gave me and I found  out that there was no address so I put in the phone number in and found this page .Does anyone know who I can contack ? This man has called four times in a hour .

They have repeatedly called my house, the number comes up but the name is unavailable. I don't answer numbers I don't know. They leave messages telling me they are from Northstar Co. and have very important information for me.
Just recently I found out they have been calling my step grandmother. She lives in another city. I lived with her for about 6 months when I was 17-18 years old. This is crazy, I haven't lived there in 20+ years and they are harassing her?!
They are trying to collect money, I understand that. But that's going way to far. They have no right to harass others about it.

This company (Northstar) calls my cell about once every three or four months.  Each time they are looking for Keith Coltrain who is someone I have never heard of and do not know in any way shape or form.  I tell them this very clearly each time and ask them to take my number our of their system.  I've suspected they are a collection agency all along.  This is at least the 4th time they've called now and it has become creepy and harassing.

Northstar is a small time operation based in Encino CA with questionable practices that also has a track record of not having clear title to the account they are trying to collect. Beware - if you must communicate with them, correspond only by certified mail. If you talk to them on the phone, record the conversation (legal in most states by private citizens on their home or private cell phone without notifying the other party) or have a friend / family member listen in (also legal, no exceptions).

Company promotes work-from-home on one of their sites - http://www.bumchecks.com - so there is a good chance the person who calls is actually a contractor in some other part of the USA / World. Still researching that angle of the organization - often these type companies do not pay their contractors (commission based). Most of the links on all the sites listed as being associated with Northstar Collection Service are dead links.

Do not talk to these people - they call with bogus information. This lady tryed to make it sound as if there was a claim locally and would not, or could not, give details as to the "claim", even when pressed for information.

Avoid, avoid, avoid...

Recieved a "courtesy" call tonight from a Ms. Carbonell looking for my sister.  She claims that my sister has listed me as a reference.  She was aware that my sister lives in Ky and I live in Fla.  I am on the national do not call list and have only had this # a short time.  I am not sure how she got my #, but it was not given to anyone by my sister.  I hope I do not get any other calls from these folks.  I moved here to take care of my elderly parents and can not afford to change my # or get an unlisted #.  And I have no responsibility for my sister's debts.

You or your sister should not talk to these people - very shady operation, not legitimate. Report them to your state and federal agencies that deal with these fly-by-night operations. Northstar is a subsidiarity of a larger company whose main purpose is to separate people from their money - they have a history of not have title or authority to collect on debts. Received a call from a "Robert Shapiro" (attorney from OJ Simpson case? - right...). Wrong number, but I thought the fake name was worth posting somewhere.

A "Jack Stewart" called and left a message about bogus info saying "California is a community property state, you must know the dates.... " I don't live in california...
