Has anyone else noticed that if you owe any money, you suddenly start receiving financial spam, such as credit score update notices and such.   The credit industry is a scam,  GM got bailed out for billions and the government lost money on it.   The fed injects 85 Billion dollars a month into the economy and is unhappy that inflation is below 2%.  Or that a person can turn $1500 into $1 Million trading penny stocks, while you haven't gotten a raise in like what 8, 9 years?

Recorded call supposedly from Paulette Rodriguez of Northstar Location Services (left on answering machine), acknowledging that she is trying to collect a debt, owed to her by Stuart Harris.  "By continuing to listen to this message, you acknowledge that you are Stuart Harris.  If you are not Stuart Harris, please do not continue to listen and please delete this message."

"Paula Rodriguez" requests that 'Stuart Harris" (unknown to us) call her at 866-677-2285 X3223.

They are calling me about an ex's debt every day.  We have been divorced 7 years.

You sound like a debt collector!

Problem is, I have no debt yet these scammers keep calling with a partially correct name. They have only my first name correct. They have my middle and last name incorrect. The guy was a total dick and refused to give me any info unless I gave him my real name. I refused and told him to stop calling me. Hopefully they stop calling. If not, I'm gonna harass his ass.

I found something that works!!!  I got so many collection calls for someone else that I changed my phone number.  THEN the calls started coming in on the new number too.  (neither had anything to do with me)  So I found them and changed my recorded answering messaging letting the creditors know where they are.  After calling this agency back, I found that they DO listen to the recording and he said he's remove my number from the list.  Good Luck Folks!!!

I have received a voice mail message from phone no. 866-328-8252 today and  I called them back and somebody picked up and told me that I have a debt from Bank of America Visa credit card. I told them I did not use them for a year then How come I have a debt. Then he ask me about my date of birth and I told him that I am not going to give you I will call myself to Bank of America and find out. I call bank of America and they told me I don't have to worry about it I am clear just ignore the phone call and dont give any information on the phone.

Once the debt  is sold the original creditor has nothing to do with it unless the debt is recalled. You're so full of [***] I can smell it from here

Calling me on something I don't owe

Called my Mobile phone.  I didn't answer because I'm still quick on 10-key and the number showed up on here.  Unfortunately, they did not leave a message.  Let me tell you that this is the one reason why I maintain a landline. All of my billing issues have that number, only.

I keep getting calls from a few different 1-866,859,800,614, & other numbers and believe they are from a credit card fraud scheme.  They say they are one the credit card companies that I know I have past due accounts with.  I have never gave them any updated bank information, but I have confirmed my social security to one of the phone calls.  These calls have been happening for about a month now, maybe even two months.

Received a call from an unknown number who then told me to contact this number saying that I was being sued. I called and they couldn't tell me anything about this debt from 8 years ago. Only that I owed xxx amount and they needed my updated address to have a process server come to give me court docs. Neither recited the FDCPA (which is required by law). He then said I could settle with him for half the amount. I told him I would not give him my information since he couldn't give me any information. Thankfully, my x husband works in collections and he told me this is a scam. He advised me to tell them should they call again to cease & desist or I will sue them based on the fact that they didn't even recite the FDCPA. Do not let these people fool you. Also this debt was supposedly 8 years ago and nowhere on my credit report. Considering I just purchased a home, I'm fairly certain a debt in the amount they claimed i owed would have come up with my mortgage lender.

This is a collection agency, do not answer the phone. When you answer the phone they are going to know someone answers there and they will continue to call. If you're going to be dumb enough to answer, then thats your own fault. Collectors will mark on their screen that its a working number and someone always answers, so yes they are going to call and harrass you as much as possible until they get paid. Do yourself a favor and get a caller ID and learn whos calling your house. This is about to be 2017 folks, there is no reason anyone should be answering unknown callers. There is no organization that will help you stop unwanted phone calls. You have to do your own work.

Northstar calls me multiple times a day looking for someone named Justin Allen. I am not Justin Allen, I am not even male. I had to change my phone number about 2 years ago to get away from them and somehow they got my new number. I don't even know this person. I have told them they have the wrong number and please stop calling but they continue.

It looks as if CWG40 has given you enough information to do the following ( and you have an excellent FDCPA case where you can make them pay you for the harassment):
You need to send them a certified, return receipt "not me" letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/
