Just received a call from this number as well, for the first time. I didn't pick up, and they did not leave a voicemail. I've received a ton of calls from 866-280-4252, so perhaps this is a new number that the same people are calling from?

I've been getting calls from this number multiple times daily for the last few days. I picked up once yesterday, got a strange sound like a bubble popping from the other end, and then silence. Anybody have any ideas on it?

I just got a call from this number. I had this a couple of days ago.

This time, they tried to explain something about a coupon of gas, $40 worth.
I thought this call related to my AT&T service, but it was not.

They said company was Budget management.
So I just hanged up. This number is telemarketing call.

i returned the call and got a recording stating:

"we've been trying to contact you by phone to introduce you to our wonderful money saving program"

press '1' to continue to receive these calls

press '2' to be removed from our call list

to speak to a customer service representative call 1(866)434-6600.

I recently changed cell phones and in the process acquired a new number.  While my previous number WAS on the DO NOT CALL LIST, the new one was not, so there is not much i can do with these people but hope they quit calling.  I pressed '2' at their prompt and will now keep track of my phone bill rather closely.  I'll report back if I get charged for calling the number.

To check if your number is registered on the DO NOT CALL LIST go to:

    My two cents...

I love how our government works...  you have to sign up on a list stating you do not want to be harassed by telemarketers.  I personally think this list already exists...  it's called the phone book.  It would make far too much sense if the handfull of confused individuals that DID want to receive harassing phone calls had to put their info on a list instead.  Thank God all our laws aren't written in this same backwards format.  The don't get shot list.  Don't get raped list.  Don't get robbed list...  you get it.  So why is there a don't get harassed over the phone list?  Food for thought.

    ps...

If their "Money Saving Program" is so wonderful, maybe they should make a few calls to the Bush Administration...  I'm sure they could use a good plan to save a buck or two  ;)

They called me twice. The second time i picked up and they tell me theyre going to send me a 40$ free gas card and another package about discounts. They tell me theyre a marketing agaency and got my name and address from something i purchased from another company. Then they ask me for me to tell them my birth month and day, but not the year, to confirm if i am who i am. Then tell me they want me to dial my birth month and day into the phone. I automatically hung the phone up.

Same as above. After talking with the operator he transferred me to another operator who was going to confirm my address. That part seemed extremely suspicious so hung up. Now they're calling me over 5x a day since I'm not picking up.

I know that these harassing calls from various 866 numbers are associated with ordering for a trial size of Acai Berry tablets as advertised by Oprah Winfrey.  They sent me the wrong product and when I tried it for 8 days, I gained 4 pounds, was constipated, and had bloated stomach.  My last phone call was from 866-379-2003 and they wanted to verify my address and said they would send me a lot of free offers.  I told them I had been harassed with phone calls and was not interested and hung up.  Five days later I received another bottle of
Acai Berry in the mail.  I did not want it and didn't order it.  I checked my VISA card immediately and saw that they had charged $1.00 for the first trial order of 15 tablets on 9/3/08 and had also charged $89.31 for the 60 tablets they sent on 9/17.  I have notified Oprah Winfrey.

This is a Marketing firm that was sold my information from someone I made a purchase from. The caller had my name address and CREDIT CARD INFORMATION I used to make that purchase. If the caller would have given me the name of the place of purchase I would never buy from them again. This one of those "Free" trials that a attach monthly fee if you don't call and cancel.
Run from these people and the original purchase location, if you can get them to tell you who sold the information to them.
The caller was very rude when I tried to find out who sold them the information.

Yeah I've been getting calls from this number for the past week and I finally picked up today. Some monthly trial program that you have to call and cancel. They knew my credit card info as well and probably know everyone else's that they're calling. BEWARE call and Cancel!!

    Please, stop
Called many tims daily.  Each time answered there is a delay - it is an autodialer.  Automated answer eventually comes on offerring to transfer my call.  It ain't MY cal, YOU called me.

Yep - I think I know what this was about.

It's a telemarketing company, and it's a bit sneaky.  They try to 'confirm' your interest in a subscription program, and send you a packet in the mail that is essentially a free trial.  You have to then call to cancel your enrollment, or you get billed $20/month thereafter.

The sneaky part is that the phone call enrolls you in the program, that some consumers may perceive as being free (since they emphasize the free trial part).  They are on a recorded line, probably to protect themselves.

I suggest you answer the call, and politely ask to be removed from their list.
