We get calls from this number constantly, morning ,noon, and night. It doesn't matter what time of day they call. I guessing that no one there can tell time. It is always an East Indian woman asking for my husband. I have told them repeatly not to call back. We don't want or need whatever it is they are calling back, but it is just like they were deaf. They call back during the same day.

I have been receiving calls from this number also... But, the problem is, they only let it ring a couple times then they hang up before I can get to the phone! I am a registered nurse who works nights... my husband also works nights as a coal miner. We try are best to sleep through the day, but these people are absolutely aggravating the heck out of us! Our cell phone and home phone numbers are on the National Do Not Call Registry, but unfortunately, that doesn't seem to matter to these people! What else can a person do? There really should be a law against being harrassed like this...
What I'm gathering from previous posts is these people work for Double Day Bookclub or have SUPPOSEDLY been sold delinquent accounts by this particular book club... I, or anyone in my household, like the majority of you, have NEVER bought anything from Doubleday or any other online book club for that matter... We have had this home phone number since we bought our house over 3 years ago. They just started calling in the middle of last week so I know it can't be someone else's old number unless the account they bought is a very, very old one!!!...
If anyone has any suggestions as to how to get rid of these people, I am very interested to hear what they are!!

On the 12th and 29th of this month I was called twice on each of those days on the 29th of this month I was called three times this is not funny. I thought there is a provision in Federal Civil Law that more than one call a day is considered harashment.  Time to contact an attorney before we kill them all :)

They call 3 or more times a day 7 days a week and when you talk to them they claim its for a book club bill. I asked for the bill to be sent and they said they couldn't do that. I don't know of any bill I have outstanding but my credit report doesn't list anything so when, where and why? I wonder if they got bought a bunch of retired debts (maybe?) and are trying to collect money?

This number has been calling for WEEKS, and I had not been answering it.  Figured it was a telemarketer.  I answered today, they asked for my wife and said it was "Very important we talk with her on this matter of extreme urgencey." Told him she wasn't here and I could take a message.  He refused saying it was personal.  Told him he came up on caller ID as out of area and therefore I figured he was a telemarketer he hung up.  He did have an Indian accent just like other callers reported here.  Watch out for these guys, figure they are trying to scam people.

I also keep getting these calls and never a message. I work all day and can't answer my cell but they don't seam to care. I wish they would just stop calling already it is really messed up when I get off work and have 12 or more missed calls and none of witch I want to call back.

I recieve calls from this number EVERY DAY!! Sometimes 2-3 times a day. They say I owe $99.35 for a Book Of The Month club. I told them I haven't been in a book club for 20 yrs and I was always current with my bill. They threatened to take me to small claims court over it. Said I should send them the check to save myself the time and embarrassment of being taken to court. When I asked what books.. exact date.. etc He said he would not divulge that information. I said you send me the original bill to prove I owe it he said it was not his job to send me copies of bills the company already sent me. I am really tired of getting these calls. Is there any agency we can report this to so something can be done to stop them?

I HAVE BEEN GETTING HANG UPS ON MY MACHINE FOR MONTHES FROM THIS NUMBER. THEY CALL MULTIPLE TIMES IN A DAY TOO...WHICH I THINK IS ILLEGAL IN NY STATE

Called @ 7am and asked for Charity Lowe. I said you have the wrong number and said, "oh, so sorry" and hung up. Very strange!

I too have been getting several calls from them due to the previous owner of my number.  I sent them a polite email explaining that they are attempting to contact the person who previously had my number.  Within minutes I received a return email stating that my number was removed from their dialer.  We'll see.

these fools call repeatedly for several days at a time, then finally stop, then start again about 2 mo. later...this has been going on for about a year...ever since i got this tel#.  getting very tired of it.  obviously from india...any way to stop them???

I had a similar experience with this TSC collection agency calling on behalf of a book club for a $77 charge.  They had my old phone numbers but an unknown address.  I ask if they could verify my identity by telling me what they had for my SSN and they said that the book company did not give them that information.  The big kicker for me was they said if I paid the $77 then the book company would give me incentives to by more books for free ????

I have been getting calls from this number also. From what I can tell from here is that it is for a book club? Now I know its a scam since they are calling for me and I never even belonged to a book club in my life.

There is a law from my understanding thru reading that if you send them a letter in the mail saying not to contact you again that they cannot again. I screamed at them on the phone the 5th day that i got repeated phone calls that they are not to call me again cause i was sending them their offical document in sept and havent heard another word from them. i didnt bother to send the letter tho. Hope this might work for you!

I have an outstanding 100 dollar debt with The Literary Guild, and I know mine is valid. but everyone on here reports different book club names. so they might be tryin to scam a bunch. and they are all indian with normal "american" names. Figure they dont want to repeat their names to us 5 times. but they dont have a problem calling 10 times.

CALLED AT 8:22AM TODAY BUT I HAVE SEEN THIS NUMBER SEVERAL TIMES ON MY CALLER ID.  NO ONE ON THE LINE AND NO MESSAGES LEFT OR I GET ONE THAT SAYS IT IS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE TO RETURN THE CALL ASAP. I HAVE NO IDEA WHOSE NUMBER THIS IS AND THEREFORE WILL NOT RETURN ANY CALLS. THESE ARE MOST ANNOYING.
