getting these calss 2 0r 3 times a day--no message==answering macine answes

Have gotten numerous calls from this number and they never leave a message. Today I answered it and this Indian sounding man asked for so-and-so (first name only). I said "You've got the wrong number" and  before I could tell him to stop calling he hung up.  Rude.

I usually don't answer name NOT PROVIDED calls, but was waiting for an important callback and I was answering everything.  I had a hard time understanding "Chris" with his Indian accent.  He said he was with TCS, something to do with consumer services.  He asked for my son who hasn't lived at this address/phone number for 16 years.  I told my son about it and he checked the number out on the
web and emailed this site to me.  What a world we live in when it's not safe to answer our phones.
Don't tell anybody anything!!....unless you are certain who they are!

I just received a call from this number. Pick up and no one says anything so I hang up... & they have the nerve to call RIGHT back. Uhh wtf? Why not say something the 1st time. I dang sure wasn't about to answer again. They can stop calling because it seems like a scam.

Do not talk to these people or call this number back.  They continually call my mother's phone and leave a meassge with her to have me call.  I have not lived with my mother for over 30 years.  They have gone so far as to tell her how much the debt is and who they are collecting for.  I called and told them to remove her number and the supervisor said they would.  Yet the minute I hung up with them they call right back at the same number asking for me again.  I am filing a suit against them as discussing the debt with a family member is illegal.  I can sue them for at least three times the original amount of the debt.  Guess I just got my debt paid in full and them some.  What a bunch a idiots.  Maybe when they following the fair debt collection rules, they won't get sued.  These guys are the sadest excuse for a collection agency.  And to top that off, none of them can speak normal English.

It would appear that this group is targeting senior citizens.  I received a call on behalf of my 80 year old mother, (who has no debts), and the number left was 866-441-5558.  The firm name that was given was D.G.C. (which i believe is Takhar group?).  My instincts are that these people try to scare a senior into paying a claim they have no obligation upon whatsoever.  I think I'm going to report them to the State Attorney general next.

This is helpful...my husband actually getting calls from this number and we were puzzled and pissed as to what the heck these people are trying to do...after reading all your insights, i feel much better knowing what these people are trying to do...

Received a call from them yesterday (19th April 2010) saying that I owe some 90$ for children's book of the month club and they are a collection agency trying to settle that debt with me without letting it go on my credit report. I have never even heard of the Children's BOMC that they claimed I owe money to. The guy from Takhar Collection Services (TCS) http://www.takhargroup.com/ kept convincing me to just pay them the money via credit card on phone and they would not ruin my credit history. If I failed to do so, they would report non-payment to credit agencies and it would show up on my credit reports for next 7 years. This is pure extortion. I do not owe a single penny to Children's BOMC. So when I asked him to produce any proof of me owing any money they said that they cannot give me that information. They also claimed that this money is payable because I had signed some kind of 2 year contract with Children's BOMC which I failed to pay. Finally I hung up the phone and searched online to realize there are tons of people who have filed scam complaints against Takhar group and Children's BOMC both. The same day he called me back again 7 times. I did not pick up.

claims to be a book club collecting money owed on some books i ordered in 2007. funny thing is that i didn't even come to the USA until 2008. threatened to ruin my credit history. could not provide any information about me, what i ordered etc.
DO NOT GIVE ANY FINANCIAL OR OTHER INFO TO THEM.

I received 5 call in the past 2 days ..they called I answered and the line just goes blank....  I have no outstanding balance with anyone .. and Im concerned that it might be some sort of telephone scam..Im going to report them to my phone company.

The caller is not TMOBILE that is my carrier the calls just come thru as the 866 441 5558 number no company listed

I have recieved 7 calls in the past 8 days from this number, all to my cell phone, no one ever leaves a message and I am never available when they do call.  Very annoying.  Have verified that I am on the no call lists.  Have been on my state one for a while now, but also made sure to put myself on the national one.  Am also keeping a log of the calls, in case this is needed if I have to file a formal complaint.

I have not lived with my parents in 36 years, but people calling from this number asking for me have been calling and harassing my 86 year old recently widowed father. I have not yet responded. I will and I will tell them that they are calling the wrong number and that I will contact the state attorney general immediately, since that number and I have no connection.

Glad I have a "block phone number" option on my phone as I have been receiving calls from that number for weeks. I am so glad you guys have all your messages up here so that I could block this number knowing it is another scam!!!!!

REcieve at least 10 calls from this number daily.  All hours of the day, even on Sat/Sun.  Wish it would stop.  No messages, no one immediately on the line.

866-441-5558 has called my house for about a month.  I called them back, and got a "Roofing Company".  They were looking for someone who supposedly owes a bill to them.  I have been all over the world, a nd could barely understand the broken English.

This number calls everyhour for months now. I CHANGED my phone number to an unlisted number. Two days later, they are calling again. Very disturbing!! Please stop these harrassing calls. Thank you!

Hey Takhar Group! I know you read these complaints to try to get more info on your victims (yes, victims because you violate US federal laws).

Besides just wanting to tell you to go [***] a fruit basket, I thought I would point out that your ENTIRE [***] business model is about defunct. With Google Voice and a few apps, I don't receive on God damned harassing phone call from you. And it's not for your lack of trying. I can see them in logs. I just have you and any other unknown number dumped to a special [***] you message.

But I had an idea. Since I have records of you violating the law (calling during hours you are not allowed to call, or on Sunday), I am thinking about using your cruel and [***] tactics to my own advantage. You see, every violation can yield me $1000 in damages plus my legal fees. I am not sure how much I should charge you to file a motion at the county clerk with copies of phone records. But we will see.

And knowing how stupid debt collectors like you behave, I will still get your phone calls after the judge orders you pay me. So I will just drag you back into court.

You see.. [***] happens and some people end up in debt. It could be from divorce, medical illness, disability, all sorts of things not their faults. It is not a crime to fall into debt. But what YOU do is a felony. You are the criminals here.

I just want to find a way to generalize this practice of taking you assclowns to court for profit. There needs to be a collective action against you. So many cases you can't possibly hire counsel for each and every one.
