Do nothing.  All legal matters will start with a letter from someone. If they don't have your SSN don't give it to them.  It's a scam.  I might play along next time just to waste their time.

This is a debt collector. Waypoint Resource Group.
I have no idea what type of debt they are attempting to collect off me because I am current on my bills. They won’t tell me what it’s about unless I confirm who I am on a recorded line. I won’t do that if I don’t know what it’s about so we are at a draw....

I have posted the company information on page 1.  They are well known for violating the law.  Some posters have reported that they refuse to send out the dunning letter as required by law.  On page 2 I have also outlined some solutions to this problem.  You may want to read that and follow it.  Or not, it is up to you.

They asked if I was Joe Blow, and wanted my address, I asked who wanted to know, the person said all they could say was WAYPOINT, so I hung up thinking a scam, and blocked the call. The call block app has shown they have called twice a day ever since.

Called 8 times in the last 2 weeks. Never leave a message! Today I was at home and I answered. After a few seconds someone came on the line and mumbled their name and said it was recorded line. They askes for a person (I don't think they got the name right! Again they mumbled!). I said you have the wrong number and hung up. Some one else said they were a collection agency for student loans. Yikes! I finished college 55 years ago and have no student loans. They must be desperate. If they call again, it will be blocking time.

Yes, many others have reported they do that as well, which is why it is important to read.  You can start with the other posts and will find at least one that will tell you exactly what to do.

Have received multiple robocalls from this number stating they are calling about a debt. This is a business number and we have no outstanding bills so this is some type of scam.

This company is getting our numbers through tracking  or gps apps on cell phones. When you use gps on cell phones points are identified called waypoints. This company has found a way to tap this data and get our telly numbers
Want to find out whats going on with this one.

Called me, did not announce who they were, but simply said "I need to verify your address, in order to tell you important information." Told them I didn't feel comfortable giving out my address, but I confirmed a zip code. They then brushed it aside, and said I had an overdue $50 Comcast bill, and needed to pay it immediately. Asked for my credit card information over the phone (was like, [***] no?) and I said if they gave me a website, I'd do it online.

Took their website, hung up, and blocked the number. The whole thing felt really uncomfortable / unprofessional, and after coming on here, I'm glad to see my suspicions confirmed. [***] that.

This number calls 3-5 times a day, usually within a 10 minute period.  It is blocked but shows up on my call history, which drives me nuts in its own way.  I know I should ignore and be happy that I don't have to deal with them.  Still, I've been calling the number back from my work phone (the same number of times within the same period of time), waiting until I get a live person and then putting them on hold.  Probably doesn't bother them at all but oddly enough, gives me some sense of satisfaction.  :-)

This is a scam - they start off saying you owe money(called a business phone) and then want you to give them your name and information - if I had a debt they would already have my name & address. These people are thieves looking to get information to steal identities.

    Toll free leaves no message.

I normally don't do this but I called the number back and accused them of being scum,  fishing for info and bothering people for no apparent reason.   After about a half hour go round he told me my phone number and admitted they may be have the wrong person and wouldn't call here again.   The whole time he was a condescending little putz but I held my ground.     We'll see.
