Same thing here, I had this page pulled up when I was speaking to them, told them not to call me at work or on my cell or I would report them to MO AG.  He said he didn't care, he wanted my lawyers name, I gave him the name and number of a lawyer friend of mine.  See if he calls her...

This is to Mike. I have gotten one of your phone calls today saying I had a payday loan and you are coming to arrest me so I am waiting on you with the police department as I called them when you were on the phone with me. Here in America we call it a three way call. They took down everything you said even the part where you stated that my husband took out a payday loan in my name and I am responsible for it, the problem is Mike, my husband is deceased and has been for quite sometime. So instead of my husband coming to see me and his children from the grave, he went to India,Afganistan or Saudi Arabia and took out a payday loan in my name. What a hell of a resurrection. When the police heard you say ' NO NEED TO CALL THE POLICE THEY ARE COMING TO ARREST YOU IN THE MORNING'  our officers laughed. Or when you said YOU LIVE IN AMERICA AND YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS, that got them ROLLING with LAUGHTER.So you see Mike or whatever you are or whoever you are, I myself took LEGAL ACTION AGINST YOU.  GOD has a place for you and its not HEAVEN.

I got a call today and I am beyond mad. This is America and this should not be happening. I immediately had a three way call to 911 and the police heard the whole thing. These jerks even brought my deceased husband into it and said he took out a payday loan. Nice trick from the grave. What links will these non Americans take to steal from the poor, the middle class and elderly people who get caught up in this?I wish that the tables would turn on them, as a matter of fact, I have my lawyer looking into legal action against them, and see how it feels to be threatened by an english speaking American and tell them they are going to jail. Wouldn't that help just a little so these scammers will quit messing with American Citizens?!!!!!!

Well Mike, why would anyone send you information to that nature when you are stealing phone numbers and names of people, dead or alive, and hopefully my actions today will stop you in your tracks. You see mike, we have laws in America that protect Americans from people like you. Now, why don't you send all of us your information and address and phone number, and I mean like your real home number where your family lives so we know you are real!!!! What a joke, huh Mike?!!! I feel your pain.I took action and hopefully us Americans will put a stop to this. Everytime they call you, please report it to the sheriffs department. The police department does take action and sends it directly to other higher police agencies. If you report it, it will be on record that this is fraud.

I have new information for everyone getting these calls. Please contact the FDC @ 877 382 4357 press prompt 3 they will take your information. The F B I has been contacted and referred me to my local govenors office which will take all information regarding this matter.   The FDC was very helpful and informed me that they are going against the Debt Collection Act of the USA and that this is fraud. The FDC is trying to get information from any and all individuals getting these phone calls. Please contact your local governors office of consumer affairs to report it, in turn they will send you to the FDC. Please take time to do this as we have got to stop this. The FDC also said to call your phone company to block this number. It doesn't matter if it is a cell or home phone, the phone company will inform you on how to block this 877 463 1803. I hope everyone will take part in this to get this stopped.

Even scam artists are outsourcing. On Tuesday in its first crackdown on fraudulent telemarketing in South Asia, the Federal Trade Commission announced that it was shutting down two California-based companies that used a call center in India to defraud Americans out of more than $5 million over the past two years.

Workers in India made threatening calls to Americans getting them to pay money on debts that they didn't owe, the FTC charges. At an FTC press conference in Chicago on Tuesday, fraud victim JanLaree DeJulius explained that she had received a call from someone claiming to be an enforcement officer from the (phony) "Federal Department of Crime and Prevention," who threatened to have her arrested and have her wages garnished if she didn't pay a bill of more than $730. The scam artists had gotten her name and information from a payday loan her ex-husband had taken out in her name.

"It was very embarrassing," Dejulius said. "He knew everything about me so I agreed to set up an installment." She is not alone. According to the FTC, more than 8 million calls were made since 2010 and at least 17,000 transactions processed across the United States related to the global scam.

On Tuesday under request from the FTC, a U.S. District Court in Chicago stopped the international operation, charging Varang K. Thaker and two companies he owned, American Credit Crunchers, LLC, and an affiliate Ebeeze, LLC, with violating the FTC Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

"This is a brazen operation based on pure fraud, and the FTC is committed to shutting it down," said David Vladeck, director of the FTC's consumer protection bureau. "Consumers should not be pressured into paying debt they don't remember owing. Legitimate debt collectors must provide consumers with both written information about the debt, and instructions for protecting themselves if they don't think they owe the debt."

According to the FTC's charges, Thaker used Social Security numbers and bank account numbers obtained from payday lenders to identify the victims for his scam. He outsourced the work to an Indian call center, where workers made threatening calls to American consumers to pay fake debt or collect on bills for which they were not authorized.

Thaker was not available when contacted by telephone on Tuesday. A woman who claimed to be Thaker's older sister and asked not to be named for privacy reasons said he is working with the FTC to help the Indian government pursue the fraudster call center operators. She also said he was innocent in the scam. "He was being used by somebody. He didn't even know where they got the information," she told The Huffington Post by phone. She said that her brother got 10 percent of the earnings from the scam operation.

The FTC charges against Thaker are the latest in a series of police actions by the government agency to put an end to rogue debt collection operations that have become more frequent in the aftermath of the Great Recession. In January, the FTC struck a $2.5-million settlement with debt-buying company Asset Acceptance, LLC, charging that the company had falsely represented itself to customers, including making up phantom debts that customers no longer owed. Last October, the FTC filed a complaint against seven other fraudulent debt collectors, alleging that they had engaged in the same techniques -- demanding money from customers who owed nothing at all.

The growing number of Americans who are unable to pay their bills has meant there are more companies looking to profit from their economic difficulties.

Debt collectors have been taking more aggressive tactics as fewer people are able to make ends meet or are in a cycle of debt. More than 30 million Americans are in debt collection, according to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Since 2010, more than 4,000 complaints have been filed with the FTC and state attorneys general about fraudulent debt collection calls, the FTC said.

Charles Junitkka, a personal bankruptcy attorney who represents clients in the New York City area, said, "In the last few years, the desperation of the collectors and their efforts have intensified because of the economy."

This story has been updated to reflect comment from a woman who says she is the sister of Varang Thaker. Thaker himself was unavailable for comment.

Thank you so much for the info. I have comments posted to alert people to the FTC, however, I was so angry I put FDC instead of FTC but I hope everyone gets the message. I also posted the direct phone nuber to the FTC. I myself have had identity theft in 2008 and am still suffering from it. These people have to be stopped. I have never taken out any kind of loan to that nature nor has my deceased husband. I am glad American citizens are finally taking a stand on this. Please continue to fight for what is right. These [***] are relentless. They're definitely Indians. I tried reverse number look up and (463) is not a valid code. They called three times today. I took the phone from my wife and called this [***] every    curse word I knew, screaming, guaranteed. Funny thing too, he says the same exact words all the time. <reading from a pre-typed paper>

I hope you find my posting on the FTC and the posting from Alphalas posting a help to you and everyone else. I am sorry I put FDC but I am so angry. Please take note of all the comments from just the last couple of days and you will find out you are not alone in this. I hope the info presented in these replies will help people. They called me today at work and wanted to speak to my supervisor and he was going to tell my Supervisor to fire me because I refused to pay a bill from some pay day loan company.  I have never borrowed money from a pay day loan company.  They will not stop calling.  I have reported these calls to the FTC and my Attorney General's office.  I have not heard back yet.

You will hear from them as long as you gave a call back number. I am so sorry this is happening to all of us but I hope everyone will continue to report and fight this. I got 5 calls from 8664631803 from this number and lot of foreigners are treating to take me to court. When I tried to call back, no answer. Scam artists on the Internet.
