- LargoThere was a message on my answering machine that said that the caller was from the Patient Center Care Program as part of Blue Cross/Blue Shield. They wanted to talk to an Errol Palmer…who know who he is… but they wanted to talk to him about dealing with pharmacist regarding savings on prescription drugs. My answering machine clearly states our names so this telemarketer choses not to listen and rambles on with their message. SCAM???

- LindaHSome say this is a scam, some say not; they called me today wanting to "review my prescriptions" - okay, I agreed and followed the prompts to the "are you willing" option....said yes as instructed and got directed to a recording to "press 2 for this, if you know your party's extension press 3" -
Well, you called ME - first hint that got my spidey senses going; to boot, today is a Federal Holiday - second hint. Not so sure about this call - and I agree with the previous poster who said my pharmacy already does this AS DOES MY DOCTOR.- Caller: Blue Cross Blue Shield
- LindaHTo add to my previous comment - I have no intention of discussing my personal, private prescription history over the phone with anyone...BC/BS should know better
- Caller: Blue Cross Blue Shield
- KATI got the same voicemail message about "Patient Centered Care" and consultation with a pharmacist, claiming that they are calling on behalf of Blue Cross / Blue Shield. CALLER IS NOW BLOCKED.

- barbaraleft private caller in caller ID- message left on machine was that they were my pharmacy calling and would like to reduce the amount of meds I take after a free clinical phone consultation-did not sound very good

- PaulMcCI don't need a BC/BS contractor to review, coordinate or whatever my prescriptions. This is waste, fraud and abuse, plus is a violation of privacy and the HIPA law. I have two M.D.s who prescribe meds for me, and they do a 100% job of cross-checking them for contra-indications and to avoid duplication. Having become totally disgusted with CVS Caremark cost increases and shipping short (e.g., 90 pills prescribed for 90 days will often show up as anywhere from 72 to 85 pills, so CVS is a bunch of shameless thieves, and neither BC/BS or OPM will do anything about the consistent problem), so I asked both doctors to send all of my prescriptions to a pharmacy located in my local supermarket. The result is what used to cost nearly $200 by mail order from CVS Caremark for all of my Meds, now costs less than $50 from my local pharmacy, and they know how to honestly count out pills. They also say "thank you," and give me a phone call for the renewal reminder to come in and pick up my next 90-day supply. BC/BS seems to encourage fraud by CVS Caremark.
- Caller: CVS fraudsters?
- Call type: Telemarketer
- AndyLIf this number, 800-465-2505, is genuinely for a BC/BS contractor such as CVS Caremark, then why don't they have the professional decency to have their real, no foolin' legal business name show up on caller id? Any calls coming in showing up as Unavailable, Private, Out of State, etc. are rejected by my call blocker, which now has 150 blocked numbers in it. Besides telemarketing fraudsters, as the election circus progresses, I expect numbers to be blocked to escalate significantly. In my state, it is not unusual to get as many as 24 political-related calls in one day from candidates, causes, pollsters, surveys and similar frauds. The worst thing you could ever do is to give any of these devils your credit card number over the phone.
- Caller: CVS wannabe fraud?
- Call type: Telemarketer
- trekie70Any legitimate caller would allow their true identity to be displayed on the recipient's caller ID and leave a message. My caller ID read "800 Service" and no message was left, so I tend to think this is a scam by someone pretending to be BCBS.
- Caller: 800 Service

- MeToo| 1 replyLeft message for someone that doesn't even live at my number, claiming to be Blue Cross BS about a no cost prescription benefit. I've had the same number for a while now and it's suspicious. When I change numbers, I call all my contacts to notify of the change.
- Caller: 8664652505
- MeToo replies to MeTooBy the way, this was one of those Robo calls, not a live person, which adds to the lack of credibility of the caller
- realisticconsumerEven if this call is coming from CVS/Caremark or Blue Cross, IT IS NOT "LEGIT"!! Anytime you get a call from a number that you did not request a call from AND the first thing the call does is request that you, the recipient, provide personal information to confirm your ID --THIS IS NOT LEGIT. This is either an incredibly stupid business practice by a legit caller that serves to undermine the most basic tenet of avoiding phone scams (NEVER give out personal info to an unknown caller that calls you) or it is clever scam by someone that may have accessed federal employee insurance info. If you are an insured federal employee, DO NOT continue to reinforce this stupid and potentially dangerous practice by providing the requested info and connecting to the call. Rather, complain to CVS, Blue Cross, OMB and your agency by pointing out the dangerous practice utilized in this call and/or the apparently superfluous and/or wasteful nature of the call and ask that it be corrected or discontinued.
- Caller: CVS/Caremark?
- GraceI answered the phone call at work, and the automated voice claimed to be from BC/BS. It specifically said my name and asked to speak with me. When I confirmed, it wanted me to verify by entering my year of birth. Why would your insurance need you to verify personal information to discuss some sort of pharmacy benefit? Sounds like phishing.

- SteveIf this was a legit call they would identify themselves. I simply do not pick up on calls where the caller will not identify themselves. I always let these calls to go the answering machine. If it is legit they will leave a message. The fact that no message was left tells me this call is a scam.
- George Saufley| 1 replyThe number on the phone was 1-866-465-2502. Was a credit card service and that I had "perfect credit record" they were offering ma a free interest card. Usually, they run for 3 to 6 months then they start charging interest. They said press three to opt out I pressed three to opt out and the message repeated over and over.

Don't interact, talk, visit any website that is mentioned, or press anything to "be removed from the list".

https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx - NudgeNudgeAs usual, we have a broad range of posts, from accurate and on point, to rabid and ridiculous rants. Simple facts are:
1) These calls are not funded with tax dollars, per se.
2) These calls are not illegal.
3) This is not a useful free service for policyholders - it is an attempt to game you about your care for financial reasons.
4) This is also a joint effort by BCBS and CVS, promoting the use of CVS/Caremark to control costs and increase profits.
5) It is a (very dubious) "benefit" of BCBS policies.
I would avoid these creeps. They are not your friends. Any local pharmacist would be happy to provide the "free services" they are offering. This is all about reducing the cost of your care (quality of care is not a concern here). They would love to get you signed up with Caremark so that they can replace expensive drugs with cheaply sourced ones. They would love to get you signed up with Caremark so that CVS makes money on your care instead of Walgreen's, Kroger, Etc.,. Well, I'm sure you get the idea.
And no, it isn't a conspiracy between the Chemtrail commandos and the Black Helicopter guys, using your private information stolen from Verizon by Indian hackers, or whatever other silly delusions may be posted in this thread.- Caller: CVS BCBS Sleazeballs
