- droop08/21/17 4:01 PM CDT - called land line left no message
- Caller: patientctrcare
- Montana residentShow your name in caller I D.
- Caller: toll free
- marcusRobocall claiming to be Blue Cross/Blue Shield. "UNAVAILABLE" caller ID and request to provide personal information that they should already have if they're actually BC/BS made the scam obvious.
- Caller: robocall
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- PaulaMP| 1 replyI have belonged to BCBS for many decades. Somebody should tell them that IF this call is legit they need to identify who they are with other than toll free call. Nobody in their right mind would answer and start telling their private information. If my health insurer wants to contact me they can do it through the mail.
- Caller: purportedly BCBS
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- Dante's 9th replies to PaulaMPWell its a new year and now I'm getting this purported BCBS call leaving the tail end of a message because their system is incapable of distinguishing between an answering message and a real person answering . And agreed .. if they need to reach me they can ( and do ) by mail .
And ahhh ... just in case anyone's forgotten ... Anthem BCBS got their entire data base hacked a couple of years ago ... so just say no .. don't answer .. and if you do refuse to divulge any personal imogfantion ! - Wendy| 3 repliesThese idiots called my landline. My husband answered the call. They identified themselves as BC/BS (no mention of CVS), and the recording asked "Is this XXX ?" My husband replied "It is." The recording asked the question again and stated "You must reply 'yes or no'." My husband hung-up. He is a current federal employee. We do not use CVS/Caremark. This is NOT BC/BS.

- Don't Answer ScamsThey called and said something about my BCBS. Asked for me by first name and then said ---- if this is you, please say YES or NO after the chime. That is when I hung up on them. They just need your YES to use for their own purposes. Hey, I might be old but I'm not STUPID!!!

- Robert replies to JimHJim: Also found out it was cheaper to go to the local CVS store and get my meds than having them mailed. I have been called byt 866-465-2505 before. I called BC/BS. I was told by BC/BS not to call the number.
- Robert replies to WendyAs a federal retiree my meds are handled through CVS/Caremark. I don't mail anything in for my meds. I found it was cheaper to go to the local CVS Pharmacy. My BC/BS covers most of the cost for my meds. Also, I called BC/BS about this call from 866-465-2505 and told them they were using BC/Bs name in their call. I was told by BC/BS not to call the number.
- ConnieJust got home & the message said Patient Care Center...a complimentary service rovided by BCBS & call 1-866-465-2505. So I looked up the phone number on reverse lookup & all your posts came up. I don't need medication counseling et. so I will not call back & bc of the posts I read. Thanks everyone.
- Caller: Patient Center Care
- AZ SteveIdentified themselves as Blue Cross, said they want to discuss my medications. No idea if it's real, but they did know my name. I won't call them back, if they want to contact me they can send something by mail, like they already do 20 times a year.
- Caller: PATIENTCTRCARE
- JBlacklisted this number sometime ago. They seem to use various caller ID. Today it was PATIENTCTRCARE.
- Caller: PATIENTCTRCARE
- Daisy| 1 reply866-465-2505 called and went through the same spill as reported above. They said they were calling on behalf of Blue Cross Blue Shield. Frankly, I think this is a scam and I did not give them any information and asked them not to call again. They have called before and we go through this each time and give them a few weeks and they call back. I can't imagine what service they could provide that my pharmacist and doctors can't provide. I don't talk to any of these people that call about such things. We live in scary times and it is best not to talk to anyone that you do not know or asked that they call you.

- MaddyGot a voice mail from this number asking me to say my name, at my WORK number, at a US federal office!! It cannot be legitimate because I never give out my WORK number for personal calls (CVS prescriptions, BCBS pharmacy etc.). Fortunately with our new fancy phone system at work, any messages that are left go to my OUTLOOK file in a streaming audio file that I can play several times and actually see the incoming number!! DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION and DO NOT EVEN RECORD YOUR NAME!!!! They can use the recorded version of you saying your name for fraudulent scams!!! BEWARE
- Caller: CVS? or BCBS
- Call type: Unwanted
- Maddy replies to DaisyI suspect that this is a fraudulent scam where they are trying to bilk $$$$$ from federal retirees or seniors from medicare etc. BCBS only sends a written letter to your house with a list of generic medicines that could replace your brand-name pills. Even then, your doctor and pharmacist can do the same thing. So I don't even respond to the written notices from BC/BS or from the CVS pharmacy that handles the mail-order prescriptions.
- CleaThis really, truly is Blue Cross Blue Shield patient "assistance" program buy they have a stupid way of going about it. My husband is in the Federal Employee Program and has Ciliac disease and when I was also in it I was diagnosed with Lupus. They called and still call to see if they can help with questions or help manage things. We never bothered but I did once talk to a Live Person who called, who was a nurse, and they do offer free, live medical advice from a nurse if, say, at 3 AM, something happens related to one of our illnesses. They give you dietary advice if you're Diabetic, info on medications you're taking if you don't know if you can take it with come OTC drugs, etc. It really is a nice thing and it does come free with your insurance though I thought it was just part of the Federal Employee plan. So, don't diss it it this applies to you, they have a lot of helpful perks. But yes, scammers can spoof any number and I don't know why BC doesn't state it's them on this call because I also don't answer 99% of the spam, telemarketing, spoof calls we're getting buried with.
- Caller: BC/BS
- Call type: Valid
- Clea replies to Wendy| 1 replyHi Wendy. A fellow Fed, Employee wife here. CVS/Care,ark is what you'd use if you get mail order prescriptions thru the Federal BC program (you do know you can get a 90 day supply of things a lot cheaper this way than just going to Walgreens or whatever. Antibiotics are a fortune sometimes!) So it is linked to the BC you gave, sometimes they call to let you know something you take every month, say, could be a lot cheaper if your doc would write a 90-day-supply. Or if you have a chronic condition they will give you help or "tips" (annoying, yes) and things like this. You can always call BS directly and ask about this service and talk to them that way, or ask what they want at least. Our daughter got a nasty fungus infection in her lungs last summer and was on some powerful $$$ meds, and they were wonderful the time it took for her to get well and then we were done with them. but beware of scams, of course.
- Tygerkat replies to CleaIf you know to whom this number belongs, why did you look it up?
- SoestraThis is just one number out of over 50 used by a national robo-calling fraud, likely derived from the hacking of both the OPM and BC/BS data bases. It is a sinister fraud to collect personal data & probably credit card numbers to pay for something which will never be fulfilled. The CVS Mail Order Pharmacy is likely kicking back huge sums to BC/BS, along with all of the latter’s “approved” suppliers. I have repeatedly complained to the Feds about the cheats at CVS, but they do nothing. Some of the cheating centers around only dispensing 72 or 84 pills when the prescription is for 90 (e.g., one per day for 90 days), or dispensing brand name at $80 a pop, when generic is available and has been prescribed by the doctor. They are not supposed to be calling about anything, particularly when they don’t have the professional decency to properly identify themselves on caller Id.

- BAGot a call from this number. The CID simply said toll free caller. A robocaller said they were calling from BC/BS and asked if I was BA. Knowing better, I still said yes. Then they asked if I had received a packet of information about a prescription plan. I said no. Then they said if I was interested to say send, so I did. Then they asked for my "complete mailing information". That's when I hung up. If it's BC/BS or CVS/Caremark, they have that information already. I hung up without saying another word.
