I keep getting calls from this number also, 1-800 697 -1234, any lawyers out there who can help, thinking bout suing them for calling and waking me up often

They call me everyday...I asked for there phone number and said I wasn't confortable giving them my info...He said theres no reason to worry cause they were a multi million dollar corp. I said then this multi million dollar corperation should have a phone number and they wouldn't give it to me. They have strong Indian accents and scare the crap out of me. DON'T GIVE THEM ANY INFO AND REPORT THEM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!

Also...They call me from an unknown number like 3 times a day on my cell. The only way I got the number was to tell them I would call them back and pay them. Of course I'm not going to pay them. I just wanted the number so I could look them up. Next time they call me I plan on blowing a whistle in the phone as hard and loud as possible...Just 4 FuN!!!

Called asking for me but I wasn't there so they took a message. The guy gave his name as "Robbie Stone" and asked that I call him back.

I received this same phone call asking me to call them back at the different 866 number.  I looked it up online first and read all the comments on this site before I called them back.  When I called them back my call was picked up and I could hear loud background noise from the call center and was hung up on without anyone talking to me.  I called a second time and a gentleman answered, had an Indian accent, and identified himself as a collection agency.  He didn’t ask for any information from me before stating my name and verifying it was me he was talking to.  I thought it was a little odd he already knew my name but I was calling from the number they originally called.

He said American Medical Response sent me to collections for services rendered in 2006.  I have been paying on this bill every month except for last month when I ran into money problems and skipped on that bill.  So, AMR wasted no time and sent me to collections without a threatening letter or phone call.  I thought that was sweet of them.

 Anyway, the guy on the phone then said “How would you like to pay today; by check or credit card?”  I said neither because I have no money at this time to give him.  He asked for my mailing address and I gave it to him.  He then asked me again how I’d like to make a payment today.  I said I’d just wait for a statement in the mail from them since he has my address now.  He interrupted me to say “You need to make a payment today so your account shows some activity and it doesn’t effect your credit rating!”

I said “Thank you but I’ll wait for a statement in the mail before I make a payment.”  And he hung up on me.

Privatized ambulatory services are a GREAT idea America!  Now our emergency response companies can send you to collections after missing ONE payment, screw up your credit and have hack-jobs like Bay Area Credit Services harass you!

My call from these people was legit because I do owe AMR money but this collections company is sketchy and somehow their means of extracting money from people seems illegal.

There is actually a list of (866) numbers that all correspond to the same Bay Area Credit company. I finally cursed out the Indian man (its all outsourced to India) that kept calling and he assured me that the my number would be removed because the person they kept asking for wasn't even me! Well, what they really did was start calling me from a DIFFERENT (866) number. nice.

Important call?

Recieved a call from this company who was trying to collect an ALREADY PAID debt from my boyfriend.  A Mr. Walker illegally gave me all the account information and then proceeded to try to collect money from me.  Told him this was not my debt and he was breaking the law.  He Continued to try to collect money from me, threatened to place this on my boyfriends credit report, and refused to give me the company's address.  He said it was not legal for him to give out that info.  (But he can legally give out someone's alleged personal acct. info. to someone else?) Anyway, if you happen to be dealing with this company, BEWARE... They do not do things legally.  Make sure you know your rights.

Do not send this Junk Debt Collector any money without first sending a VALIDATION letter.  You might not even be legally obligated to pay them.  This company does things illegally, so do not let them harass or threaten you.  You have legal rights.  The reason why they push for immediate payment is because they probably do not have a legal right to collect, or cannot validate the debt.  If they cannot validate, they are not allowed to collect or report the debt.  A great website to learn all about your rights is: www.creditinfocenter.com.  This is a great site and will be extremely helpful to you in dealing with this company.

I receive calls from these people daily. They never leave a message. They call day and night.
When I called them back, I received the same heavy accent. They said they were trying to collect a debt from me. I asked them what the debt was and they told me it was for an account I never had.
I explained to them that I have been a victim of identity theft and if they would send me the information I would respond and they could check my signature and hand writing to see that it was not me.
This has not happened and it has been several weeks. They continue to call constantly.

got a call from this number yesterday. who is it calling?

I work at an assisted care home and they called one of the residents. It wasn't a recording, it was a person and he was incredibly rude. The resident tried calling back and they wouldn't even answer. I tried and they wouldn't answer. They refused to say who it was and said it was personal business.

they call and then leave a recorded message saying this is not a sales or marketing call this call is for ...then your name is said...if you are not this person please hang up if you are continuing to listen this is saying you are the right person...then at that point i erased the v-mail.  i think this is junk and someone has given my personal cell number out.

This number as well as their other number keeps calling me and asking for my foster brother!  I have NO idea how they got MY number but they refuse to quite calling!  I have filed 2 complaints with the National Do Not Call Registery, emailed them, and am filing with the BBB.  I also am wondering if I can file a police report for harassment!  Calls everyday for the last week EVEN AFTER I TOLD THEM NOT TO CALL CAUSE THIS WASNT HIS NUMBER AND TO REMOVE ME!  Friggin annoying@

Just got this call at my job.  They left a message that they were called from CREDIT SERVICES and the name to call ws Sandra Jahn.  I have no idea who or what this is either.

thank you for this information. I am now getting calls from this company and the number on ID is 866-515-3445 but the call back number the girl is leaving is 800-352-3778. I called the 866# before I found this site and yes the company is "Bay Area Credit Services" I did not stay on the call as I have no idea who they are and why they are calling. I have used parts of your letter and will see what kind of response I get.

Thank you for this information! They have been calling non-stop and wouldn't even pick up until the other day when I was at work and finally was pi......enough to pick up----there was a long pause and they asked for my mom who just passsed away!!!!!!!! I was so confused, I told them I would take a message as she wasn't here right now (GOD!!!!!) and they persisted, asking if her husband was available. I asked what it was about and they said it was an important business matter. They gave me a call back # with a different prefix but same # as on my caller ID (cell) My husband called them from home (bad mistake as now they have our home #) and told them my parents are both deceased.  Now I understand how people get confused and may fall into these traps. I will follow your advise on the info. but I think I will fax it instead. What do you think.  many thanks for the help!
