Got a call, collect,but did not tell from whom

I did not answer the first 2 times, but I did after the third time this number called within 10 minutes.  It was a friend who had been arrested and was making his phone call to get out.  This is not a scam.

I have recieved calls. Is ,or was Thomas Mccaslin in jail?

Calls consent every single day very annoying.

I received a called from this number...El Centro County Jail!

It's call from detention center/jail. Purchased phone card for my son to call. We had to specifically set it up to call my number only. It does say it's going to cost $16 but it was deducted from prepaid card.

Got the same call, but didn't answer.

This is a company called Telmate, a division of Pinnacle Public Services LLC.  They provide the inmate telephone service in jail facilities all over the country.  Know that accepting that call from the inmate is going to be extremely expensive.  This is how jails supplement their budgets.  You can block these calls from them and it's a good idea since you will keep getting those calls.  In my case it is a wrong number but 8 calls in an hour is quite annoying.  Call the company and ask to be removed.  It takes a quite a while getting through their phone tree to a live person since they don't have an option to block your number.  Then they want your personal information and will argue with you.  They don't need it to block calls to your phone and you simply need to insist several times that they only need to know the phone number (they have it already) to block calls to you.  Eventually they will settle for just your phone number.

Number from caller ID 866 516 0115. The call has come in 4 times in the last hour. Leaves a message about pressing a number to accept the call, press a number to deny the call, press a number to hear the charges. I want it to stop. I have to wake up for work at 4:30/am.

If these are scam calls from inmates, why do the correctional facilities allow this to happen?

I concur with the below complainants, the calls seem to be from inmates trying to make collect calls.

It's not a scam my friend is in jail and has been thanks to lying ex wife for several years. This number comes up every single time he calls me from the penitentiary. Get off your high horse until you have facts!

Why should the citizenry have to pay for inmate phone calls? They are lucky they get them! And I have a friend in prison! We are already clothing, feeding and housing them at a rate that will never be repayed! Now you think we need to pay for their goodies! BS! Tell them behave by society rules and you wouldn't be concerned about would you?

Who is this call from?

It is in Southern Indiana.

Got this call 8 times at 1:30 AM.  Stating it was from Canyon Country Jail from a Terry.  Scam or not?  Turning it over to the Attorney General in Oregon.
