- riptideI received 7 calls from this legitimate number. I called back, dialed 0 for customer service, and reported misuse of their phone number. The rep asked for my first name, verified my phone number, and identified the inmate who was calling me as Nina J. Taylor. This person is unknown to me, so the rep blocked her from ever calling me in the future. Good customer service rep!

Then I was asked to enter credit card info to continue the call. This phone calling service for inmates is provided by Telmate.

- BrendaI don't like to receive phone calls from jail or from people I don't know. If they call again I will have no other course but to sue the police department for the lack of control over the use of the phone. Have them sign to make a call or something

Prepaid call accounts are set up by the called party (e.g. the inmate’s family/friends.) to eliminate the problem of collect call blocks. Inmates can place prepaid calls to cell phones, office phones, hospitals and other commercial phone numbers that normally do not accept collect calls. When an inmate calls the end user, the call charges are deducted from the called party's prepaid account.- Call type: Scam suspicion
