Just got a call from Premier Credit Collections, claiming to be collecting a debt for the State of Indiana.  They stated that the amount owed was $449,000.00. UNREAL!

I did have a tax problem about 10 years ago after disolving a business over a divorce.  However, that was resolved.

The lady asked to update my files and that she would help me get this all worked out. I told her I was stunned over the amount and if that is what she had, then I would have to have my attorney handle this. She then became more verbably forceful telling me that I was refusing to work with her. I then explained that I was merely going to have to seek legal counsel since the amount had to be some typo error or something.

She did try everything she could to get me to make arraingments to pay and to update my records. I had to tell her several times that it had to be a mistake and that an attorney would have to answer all of her questions.

She said that doing so was a refusal to cooperate and that she would begin stronger collections.

Her insistance to setup payments continued even after I informed her that I wanted an attorney.

Then she said that this call to help me is over and hung up.

Oh! When I first answered the call, she said that she was returning my call. I never called her or anyone related to any such matter. They called from the above number and when I didn't answer, they called from 317-546-2205

    Unreal!

I have been receiving letters and phone calls from this Premier Credit of North America stating that this is a very important business matter. They are stating that I owe the State of Indiana back taxes on a business that was closed in 1999 and that they could not discuss this matter with me until I gave them the business tax number. The lady stated that the business was not closed until 2008. I was told that I could take out a payday loan and then settle with the State on this matter. Also I was told that if I did not do this that they were going to levy my bank accounts and/or seize any property and take legal action on the officers of the company.

Repetitive phone calls are harassment and are illegal!

These jerks from Premiere Credit enjoy harassing and annoying people. Make  no mistake, folks, that is what they do .... and what they intend to do. I believe it's time to respond to these creeps ... AT THEIR HOMES!

I am in the process of verifying addresses, email accounts, and phone numbers for David Hoeft, Todd Wolfe, Eric Wolfe, Todd Hartmann, Don Conway and any other Premiere Credit creeps I can.

    dhoeft@premierecredit.com, twolfe@premierecredit.com, ewolfe@premierecredit.com, thartmann@premierecredit.com, dconway@premierecredit.com

Once this information is posted, I would hope anyone who is being illegally harassed by this outfit, contacts the principals in the same manner they are being contacted ... AT HOME & AT WORK .... OVER & OVER & OVER AGAIN.

Folks, if you know the names of the Premier scum who are harassing & annoying you ... post their names, check them out in the Boone or Marion County Tax Assessor's Office for their residence, get their personal phone numbers .... and do some tit for tat! ... Oh, and post that info on these boards.

    Stay tuned ...

We are assembling a possible Class Action Lawsuit, so contact this legal firm:

    Email address: DEDELMAN@edcombs.com
    http://www.edcombs.com/CM/Special/Special296.asp (for information)

Our first acts are to receive evidence, assemble evidence, from as many persons as possible, to build up the case, then the attorneys will proceed. You can make a lot of money from these illegal acts, if you are interested.

Contact me at PonderosaC at aol dot com, and I will take your complaint, and relay it to the law firm. Remember, "in union, there is strength". With many persons, doing a complaint, we can all persevere. They think they are safe, well they may not be as safe as they think they are...

Your first act, is type up a Cease and Desist letter, and mail it to their street address. Send it CERTIFIED MAIL, this creates a valid, enforceable legal notice, that you demanded that they CEASE AND DESIST, from bothering you with the nuisance and collection calls. It does not matter whether or not, you are totally guilty or totally innocent, it is ILLEGAL to use such means as a collection tool. What they are doing is called "skip tracing", they are trying to find the debtor person, by bother you, and you should not cooperate with such illegal efforts:

Premiere Credit Of North America LLC
    1314 N Post Rd
    Indianapolis, IN 46219

That is their actual business location address. Do not send any notices to their Post Office Box, send it to that address. Send it certified, with a return receipt to yourself, so you know it was delivered, and you know who signed for the certified letter.

Then after you have mailed the letter, EVERY time you receive the recorded phone call, after the recorded message has ended, punch in a "*57", into your phone, and it will kick out a annoyance phone call ticket to your telephone provider. The telephone company, must have a *57, in order to take your complaint, and this does not give you the number of the incoming call. You can do a *69, to find out their number, but it does not kick out the ticket to the telephone company. You must do a MINIMUM of three of the *57 calls, then they contact Premiere Credit, and tell the to stop the phone calls.

The tickets are then given to law enforcement, for an investigation. Make sure you contact your local telephone company, tell them you want the Annoyance Phone Number, it will ask you if you used *57, say yes and enter that section, they will take your entire annoyance phone call information, and assign it to a investigation complaint. Also take your certified letter, and receipt, to your local law enforcement people, such as police, sheriff, and give them copies, and request they open and give you a case number. This is important!

Now, you have started the procedure, they must comply, or they will be in real trouble. Most of the time, they do not comply, that takes it into the lawsuit phase. You send copies of your certified letter, etc., to the law firm, along with the annoyance phone company, plus the case number from law enforcement, and they will assemble the class action lawsuit, and then proceed with it, with the people they have in the class action. The people in it, divide up the results from the lawsuit, so it can be big money...

The class action pays the attorneys their legal fees, plus they also get into the lawsuit proceeds, for some extra payment. Class action lawsuits are profitable for all parties involved, and best of all, you are "breaking Premiere Credit of the bad habit"!

I got home from work and had a voice mail message from Premier Credit.  It started out saying something about the message was intended for the party with a contract with the IRS of Indiana and to hang up if it was not intended for me.  The message then went on to state that money was owed to the state of Indiana, they were a collection agency and asked for a call back as soon as possible.

It is important that people who are contacted by Premier Credit document the time and date of the call.  Complain to the Dept of Educ (but don't expect much from them), this is to force them to document that there are numerous complaints from numerous people, contact your State and US Senators and Representative and file complaints with them. Why the Sentators and Represenatives to force change and hopefully student loan forgiveness. Also file a complaint with your state Attorney General and the Attorney General that Premier is located in.  Be sure to file a complaint with the Federal trade commission (this can be done online www.ftc.org).  Send a cease and desist letter to Premier and file your FTC complaint each and every time they call.   The more light shed on this problem the better.

Also use the following tool to help document the calls:

Then after you have mailed the letter, EVERY time you receive the recorded phone call, after the recorded message has ended, punch in a "*57", into your phone, and it will kick out a annoyance phone call ticket to your telephone provider. The telephone company, must have a *57, in order to take your complaint, and this does not give you the number of the incoming call. You can do a *69, to find out their number, but it does not kick out the ticket to the telephone company. You must do a MINIMUM of three of the *57 calls, then they contact Premiere Credit, and tell the to stop the phone calls.

Folks this is just one agency.  There are many individuals who are receiving these abusive calls and being threatened by this company.  There are over 40,000 people who have signed a petition going to Obama for student loan forgiveness.  If all 40,0000 of those people would do these things eventually the message will get to the senators and represenatives who have the power to make the changes and stop this type of collection practice.

I also have received several calls --- I have never replied to them. I a mistake on my federal tax form which is now resolved, however, in view of this, I ended up owing $103 more in IN state taxes.

Evidently, this company reviews any/all past/present delinquent dollar amounts owed to the State and tries to collect.  They are now in my phone as Indiana Fraud!

As a general matter . . . all government agencies send a letter.

Just got a call from 866 618 1060, asked for Steven, which no one lives here by that name, and when I asked Steven who and they told me I was SHOCKED, it was my ex husband whom I have not been married to for 20 years, and do not have that last name. How on earth would they get my number in connection to him!

They had called with the message loop system on day one, then by day 2 I had 4 calls in a 20 minute span before I had enough. I don't have any outstanding collection with the State of Indiana, and if I did, I would work directly with the state. If this is a scam, it's the worst kind of predatory money scam that I could think of, there are a lot of simple people in the world that might just pay what they're being told to. They aren't offering up proof or a bill or claim numbers or anything.

When I called to have my number removed, she said that she would remove the number from her search engine. To me that is another fishy detail. The State of Indiana, if they were the claimant, would have my personal information, they wouldn't need to use a third party source for collection that then had to use a search engine to find out personal information!

All in all, this doesn't seem in any way legitmate.

It is still Premier Credit - they weren't looking for me - when I called them back (they hadn't left a message) after waiting on their auto attendant for a few seconds, what sounded like a young girl answered the phone "Hello" - odd for a business.

If you keep getting unwanted calls.. first thing to do is find out who the company is.  In this case it is Premier Credit, a debt collector.  Simply get their address, type up a letter asking them to provide proof of the debt and during this time please cease and desist all collections activities.  Send it USPS Certified mail with return receipt.  Once you get the return receipt with the date stamped on it, they must cease all collection activity for 30 days.  if they do not take yourself down to the courthouse and file a lawsuit for harassment

The Indiana Department of Revenue website lists Premiere Credit as one of its collection agencies. If you have not received a written notification from the DOR, it is likely because the information the DOR has for you is not up-to-date. I don't know if state tax debt has a statute of limitations, but they can levy bank accounts and garnish wages if you don't take care of the debt.

If you have received a call from Premiere Credit, it is a good idea to call them back--if the person they're looking for is not at your number, calmly tell them to remove your number from their database. Some of the debts (for businesses) are for estimated taxes, and if your business shut down, you may not be liable for the full amount, but it's always better to deal with it--even if you can't all at once.

For personal debts, tell them your situation. If they refuse to work with you, you can just tell the DOR that their agency refused to work with you.
