- TP| 1 replyCollections for Barberton Hospital. I told them over a year ago that I wanted the original bill sent to me before I would pay anything. They stopped calling foe almost a year, now they are calling again. As far as I'm concerned, it is a closed matter since I never got what I requested.

- MaryCalled, let it right 2 time and hung up. I Googled it to here and saw it was Barberton Patient Accounts. I called back the 800-521-7747 number given by one of the posters here. Seems they have been having trouble with their statements going out and wanted to make sure I received mine. I told him I had. He thanked me and hung up. Didn't even try to get me to pay it now even though it wasn't due yet.
You can tell them not to call you anymore. But you have to call the hospital to do that. The 866 called me in August and told me I had a an invoice from April that hadn't been paid. I paid over the phone and later found the statement in my September bills to pay. It wasn't even due yet. I called the hospital and pitched a fit. They said I could get on their "Do not call" list, but if I had a past due bill they wouldn't be able to call me to tell me. Not a problem. If I get a statement I pay it.
I wonder what percentage the call center gets if you to pay them instead of the hospital.- Caller: Some call center calling for hospital accounts

- JLHow about called my place of employment and left a voicemail on someone else's phone!!!!!!!!!! I called and Sandy said that I obviously don't know the laws and that they can call anywhere they want. I said, well I do know the law and NOT ANYMORE! I was supposed to speak with a Randy Smith and he will WISH TO GOD that he hadn't spoken to me!!!! The bill they are trying to collect is PAID!!! I made an arrangement with an attorney's office hired by Barberton Hospital and they agreed to garnish my wages for $100 until paid. It was paid off a couple months ago! Bottom feeders!!!! Can't even get their records straight!!!!!!!

- WhyPayCoPaymentsKMA replies to Jill| 3 repliesWOW!!!! what a great post. you hit it dead on. there is no excuse for us to be paying copayments after copayment!!!! the doctor is getting thousands and 10's of thousands of dollars from the insurance and then the [***] want to bleed low income people more and more. then they turn scum like this company on to us to get blood out of a rock. I say screw them all, and they all can kiss my ass.
- Carl replies to Stacy| 1 replyI wouldn't consider that embarassing at all. With todays economy, inflation, and people struggling just to eat, there is no shame in having problems in paying medical bills and many others. Medical bills are not planned costs and can hit anyone, unmercifully, at any unexpected time. My wife was in the emergency room for 2.5 hours while they determined that she had a damn sinus infection. Our total tab was $5,800.00. We were charged $105.00 for 3 Potassium tablets and $55.00 for slip on foot socks. They refused to negotiate the charges and we are paying $322.22 per month for 18 months. We have no money. My wife is out of work and I am making only an average income that would be considered poverty level in some states. This is an example of what can happen when misfortune can strike anyone, yet the Medical industry are the most heartless basturds around. They will look you in the eye and take your last grocery dollar.
There is no shame in having these types of bills and being unable to pay them. If you can pay them, then pay them. If it is going to take food from your familys mouth, F*** them. This country has gone to [***] anyway. - jill replies to WhyPayCoPaymentsKMA| 2 repliesThere is no excuse for the medical industry, hospitals, doctors and such to completely bankrupt people and ruin them for life. The Insurance companies rob the people, hospitals and doctors rob the insurance companies, and it's the poor people who are ultimately bent over the barrel by all. There is no excuse for the government to allow this industry to charge the ridulous amounts, like $25.00 for a single 325 mg aspirin. When I read the Newspaper each Sunday, law suits by the local hospitals against people for indebtiness are more common than traffic tickets. We often know many of these people being sued. It tears our hearts out because we know that these people cannot afford these bills without doing without the necessities of daily living. Often, just making payments on these bills is not an option. I don't fault the Medical industry workers. I fault this damn government for allowing this to happen to our people while the Fat A$$ed congressmen and women lives off of these people like kings and queens.
- Carl replies to Jim HayhurstJim, although collectors are exempt from the Do Not Call List, I do know what you mean and agree with you.
- SteveCollections for medical bill. Called from multiple numbers several times. Too bad for them it's already been approved for workman's comp. Now they need to leave me alone.
