I too am on Medicare - I am disabled & always took great pride in paying ALL of my bills when I was able to work. Now I pay only the living expenses  that I can & the medical ones unfortunately have been turned over to collection. I get these calls all the time. Lucky to have caller ID & if I do not recognize the number I don't answer. I do think there should be a time limit on how long they can harass you. I understand that I owe the bill, but I don't have the goose that laid the golden egg.

Stop going to the ER for your health care needs. Get a DR that gets to know you. And just pay office co pay. Insurance was always like this. Jus use ER for excatly that. You will save money. Did you know most physicans are almost retiring age before their student loans are paid...

I have been a bill collector over 25 yrs. And just because they didn't get what you asked for, your still legally responsible. If you had insurance call them to see if you are responsible for any monies.if not fax a copy of the eomb.if you owe pay it. Make payments..

HERE HERE Carl! I couldn't have said it better myself! I find it pretty F'ed up that even people with insurance can't afford health care! They are taking advantage of the sick people, everyone gets ill and everyone deserves to be medically treated and not financially raped in the process. My 17 yr old daughter was diagnosised with bladder cancer this past October. The doctors office told me I had to have the money upfront for the mass removal even though I have insurance through my employer. I paid upfront and then they didnt turn it in to my insurance company so it never applied to my deductible. Besides who tells you if you cant pay upfront we will not remove a cancer mass on your childs bladder! Cold hearted money grubbing b*stards!

I received a call from this number at 0047 (1247 am). Luckily I work night shift and they didn't wake me. What kind of debt collector, telemarketer, or whatever they are calls someone in the middle of the night? First thing I would think would be an emergency with my family or my work at that hour. I cannot wait to talk to someone from there. I don't think they will have fell the same about me.

Clarion Hospital, Clarion PA. had this troll number call with a recorded message to call the Clarion Hospital billing department. And since I used their services recently I called to see what they wanted..  They wanted to know if I had received a bill from them.  I received the bill 6 days ago and paid it 3 days after I received it, the lady said they were only checking to see if I had gotten it..  When did business's begin sending bills with a 30 day due date start calling to ask if a person received their bill ?? Told the lady to take my number off the list for that call, and place me on the list of I won't be calling your sorry [***] back next time they pull that stunt !!!

I have been getting calls from this number regularly for some time now. There is no response from the other end when I answer and it hangs up after about 10 seconds. It has been busy every time I call back. When I googled the number it seems that other have gotten the same call and had similar experiences, although some have received messages or heard a recording. It is a nuisance. There has to be something that can be done to stop the calls or cancel the number altogether. Some of the comments on Google were from 2008, that's ridiculous.

Amazing how the same number can be from several different entities. Mmmm, shouldn't it be from the same company calling. Do Not Call Lists DO NOT WORK! I think it gives our number out there for these kind of harrassers. If they would only get a REAL job lol

Not just Clarion County Hospital, but Armstrong County Hospital. Same thing: did you get the bill we sent, that gives you less than two weeks to pay in full? Yes, and yes I did.

What's more annoying is the "logic:" you're calling someone who has always paid his bills in full, when due, BEFORE the bill is due, to make sure I'm going to pay? STOP THIS ANNOYING PRACTICE AND FOCUS ON PEOPLE WHO AREN'T PAYING THEIR BILLS.

I had been receiving phone calls from this number, but every time I answered there was no one there.  I tried calling the number back a few times over the past months it is always a busy signal.  I have ignored the number before and just let it go straight to voice mail, but no one ever leaves a message or if a message is left its just silence.  Today I let it go straight to voice mail again.  When I checked the voice mail, expecting it to be silence, I was surprised to hear a lady asking for someone I have never heard of.  So I have basically had someone calling me for months looking for someone that doesn't even have this number.  This time they left a call back number and when I looked it up on google.  It showed the information below.  She didn't say what the call was in reference to just asked the person to call back.

So Stacy, you are suggesting that these people just blindly call these people and make arrangements for a bill they may or may not owe?
Don't take Stacy's advice! Make anyone who says you owe them money prove it! They have to send you a validation letter within 7 to10 days of calling you, then you write them back and dispute the account according to the fair credit reporting act. Even if you do owe something it doesn't mean they aren't being deceptive about amount due, that they have the right to collect,
Or interest/fees owed and such. I guess they could sue you but they can't threaten it if they aren't going to. I wonder what computer Stacy sent this post from, if it's the company they could be sued themselves. There are guidelines they must obey and one is the SOL of the debt. Get all the facts, before you do anything!
Oh and Stacy, maybe people don't have $100 extra a month, if they did they would have just paid the original creditor, not waited for the collector to put it as a negative mark.
Know your rights, owing medical debts doesn't make you a punching bag.
