I recivced a call from Witney identifying himself from the North Star Group today.  He clamied that his is representing on behalf of his client Bank of America.  As of 4/5/2011 he told me to report to his office and speak to him by call 866-677-2825 at EXT 1293. "IT'S FRAUD!" I'll not call him back.  Everyone Beware.  He sounds like a dump old guy.

Caller ( saying John Ross) left a message saying that they needed to have me call back today and that it was in reference to my ex sister in law ( 20+hrs. Divorced) I returned the call as I was thinking it an emergency. He asked if I were her. I told him that I was not and asked if something was wrong. I also told him that I hadn't seen her in over 20 years. He told me to have her call him and that he tracks people down all over the world.

I have recieved a call from 866-667-2825 on 10-13-2011 asking to speak with a John (same last name) whp don't live here. And have no clue or idea where he lives or who he is. Told the guy on the phone this and he said are you sure you can't help me. I told him i was listed on the do not call list and he shifted me to another person named Kevin which i told the same story to and he politely said no problem i can remove the number then asked what number was i calling from ? Gees i told him you all called me and i was shifted to you to do this.

Calling for my daughter, who hasn't lived here since 2002.  Didn't say what for.  This was second call in a week.

been calling saying that we owe for cedit card they sounded liegt till the man with same name said that he knew my husband had good credit and we could easilyu get a loan ..then also told us we can even borroww money from my husbands uncle ..he broke so many laws  that then i knew they were a scam ..he also threated me and hung up...then today a lady calls me at night saying i can make 300.00 payments every two weeks ..i told her i was paying directly to the bank and she told me it takes them a while to see it and it would be easier for me to pay over the phone..then she tried to trick me by saying cause i would miss this months payment..i told her if its paid on jan. 27th then how could it be a missed payment especilally if i pay twice a month cause the bank is still getting there money..then she slyling eased me off the phone by saying fine i could make my payments to the bank..i had already spoke to someone at the bank a week before and told her about the man and the bank manerger told me that she wouldnt even send them a dime cause she had never heard of them and they didnt send legit...i would not give  north star a dime..i will continue to make my payments in person at the bank ,,where i will get a reciept.

These people called my son who is away in college and questioned him!! These people can his my butt!! Bank of America are crooks as far as I'm concerned!

For me this was a legitimate debt I owed. The only problem was that I was making monthly payments to Bank of America (220 a month) for about 5 years but I guess they got sick of it and wanted all of their money.   I went to get on Bank of America site and my account had completely disappeared. A couple days later I got a call from Northstar stating that Bank of America turned it to them for nonpayment. I spoke to a Kelly who was actualy polite asked me my name and she gave me my account number and the amount left. She let me wait to set up payments until I researched that Bank of America actually turned this account over.  I called back and set up 6 payments for the amount left over 6 months. I think there were other options but could not afford it. So my beef I suppose is with Bank of America. If a customer has been in a payment plan for that long you do not turn it over as a charge off to a third party collection agency without any notice.

Got a call from this number looking for my boyfriend's Sister!  They were looking for her, and of course I didn't give them any info at all, but they were very dodgy about the information on who was calling and why.  It was a guy named "Adam Clough" from Northstar Location Services.  Pretty crazy that they would have my number not even being related to the person they were looking for.  I don't know whether to be mad at my boyfriend's sister for at some point obviously putting down my phone number on some peice of info, or the agency for calling me.  I'm so annoyed.

This company is a scam trying to get personal information and bank information stating that you will owe them money in reality they are type that steels mail and gets information out of garbage cans.  Be carefull of them they are going to steel your money

This man calls everyday asking for my husband,, refuses to say what he wants, he is harassing us.. saying he will reach him at other numbers he has for us,, we do not owe anyone any money, excellent credit.. so where do these people get our numbers,, , we are on Do Not Call list.. I am going to report to BBB..and contact a lawyer also

This number called a couple of days ago at 8:30 AM and this morning around 8:45 AM.  First time I picked it up and hung up. Called a second time a minute later and I just let the ans. machine pick up and nothing. Then a THIRD time and I answered it and yelled quit calling!!  Of course we all know that won't do any good. So I ended up blocking it. Hopefully they won't find another number to call from.  My husband was sleeping cause he works 2nd shift. How rude of these people!! Neither of us have any debt in collections.

Caller identified him self as Jermey from North Star and he is calling because he was my cell# in his databse. WTF database is that and Jermey said trying to locate Bilack and I asked who the fk is that?  Jermy said my family member.  ........ I asked what are you talking and he hang up the phone.

Received a voice mail stating only:
We have an important message from North Star Location Services this is a call from a debt collector please call 866-677-2825. Thank you.
It was a live oerson..A man but he left no indication of who he was trying to reach or from where the debt may be owed...Hmmm...

Debt collection scam that has been going on for over 7 years. Same aggressive MO.

If it has been going on for 7 years, then why have you not done anything about it?

You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/
