NorthStar called and left a message for me to call them regarding a buisiness matter.  I know they are looking for my son who has the same name at me and is the III.  They also did this over a year ago. foolishly I answered the phone and told them they didn't want to talk to me, since I have no debts that are in default.  They bugged me until I gave them my son's phone number, which I found out later they already had.  They talked to my son who is 43 years old but didn't like the answer he gave them.  So they started calling me again.  I let them know my son is an adult and I can't make him talk nice to you or pay his bill.  I had a call from one woman and told her I wanted to talk to her boss and she said I am God and will call you every day.  After that conversation I filed complaints with the BBB of upstate New York and the Federal Trade Commission.  Then the calls stopped.  I guess I will have to do it again.

A David Miller just called me asking for my husband. Wouldn't tell me who he is or anything. But he wanted information from me, are these people insane? They call me asking me for information, but won't tell me who they are? Do they think we're idiots?

Hi Northstar Employee with a "real job",  let me enlighten you a little. If you were a professional you wouldn't state you work for your organization and then belittle the people you claim you're trying to help by calling them, stupid and ignorant. Second if you had even a modicum of business savvy you would learn to spell correctly, Their is spelled their, not thier. Also look up guarantee too! Thirdly you work for an organization that hires unprofessional undereducated drones who call people's  homes that are the wrong number! It gets annoying to have someone ask for somebody that you don't know and bother you on your  phone.  Then you cop an attitude and badger the wrong person just because they have a similar name. Let's face it yours is a very dirty job and most of the time you call the wrong people who get fed up! Debt collection companies make a nice profit on collecting unpaid debts and I hope you enjoy working so the CEO's and executives at the top can live the good life while you work in the trenches!

Northstar harrasses myself and family by leaving messages about money that I do not owe to them. They claim to be the pre-legal Department of Bank of America. Than why do they answer the phone as Northstar?

Since when is there a "time limit" to repay a loan.  Are you confusing a statute of limitation?

When you sign a loan you're signing that you will repay the loan.  If you're stupid enough to think that you can just take the money and just wait for some date to come up where you're free and clear, then you're sadly very, very, stupid.

And as far as shady practices, nothing's shadier than borrowing money, agreeing to pay it back, and never doing so.  These collection agencies are dealing with liars and thieves.  Its rare that someone innocently forgot to pay a bill.

If you knew who they were I'd bet $100 you wouldn't pick up.  And thats because you know you're wrong and you have no answer for them.

Also as far as them running your credit, you agreed to it when you opened a credit card or loan.  These companies simply bought your debt at a much lower cost than what you owed, and try to recover the debt you owe to make money.  Thats why they can knock the amount down if they want.

How does someone who doesnt pay their bills provide a job?  A debt collector?  What about all the people that lost their job because the company this person didn't pay didn't have the funds to keep their staff?

Don't stick up for people that borrow money and dont pay it back.  Thats dishonest and you sticking up for them is telling the honorable people, that lost their jobs at companies that lend money, too bad the person that can't pay their bills is passing their problem on to you.

And don't be stupid.  80% of people that owe money to debt collectors have jobs but aren't smart with money.  Research that and teach your ghetto kids.

If I had a bad debt you can bet if somebody bought a down and out debt they would never I mean never get anything from me.

Cindy Robinson called me at work today and left a message with a co-worker that it was "Cindy Robinson from Northstar, left her phone no. 866-610-2729, for me to call back.  when asked what it was regarding, "she claimed that i would definitely know what it was about."
I had never heard of NorthStar before today, so i decided to look it up online and ended up here.  I have a feeling today is my first of many harrassing phone calls from good old "Cindy Robinson" from Northstar.

Northstar just called every person in my home town with my last name which would be all of my relatives and proceeded to tell them what I owed and with who I owed it to.  Yes I am in debt and unemployed and desperately seeking employment so that I can get out of debt, but to call my parents, cousins, and sister and give them detailed info about my debt and they also gave out my social security number as well. Is this legal and if not, what can I do to protect myself?

sorry but North star is a  boiler room-type collection agencies !! they keep calling my company for some one that has never work for us . and they have given out his SSN and personal info to us .. they call us 4 to 5 times a day . we are concerting a law suet against them . so don't tell us they are a legit company .

im going to say this to you northstar employee. 1st who are u to insulting  people being stupid second i deal with you people and your slimmy ways every other day. who are u to pass judge on hard working people trying to do the right thing and deal with there problems and who are to obtain phone numbers of family memembers and friends calling them and harassing them for info on me or other people that u deal with also "JUST TO LET EVERYONE KNOW HOW SLIMMY THEY ARE" calling your family homes telling that family member that I was in a serious accident and they needed information on me. this family member demanded to know who they were and they hung up on him. when he hung up the phone he looked at the number called it back gave them hell and them to never to him again with this [***] and what do they do they keep calling him...  so you tell me mister northstar employee how is that helping people.....................

A female employee called my home one morning for someone that does not live here and left a message for that person to call them TODAY about a "very, very important business matter".  Although caller ID showed 866-677-2587, she asked to be called at 866-224-9824.

northstar calls me 3 times a week asking for two different names that i've never heard of. Northstar is stupid and the people that work for them are even dumber. I know the economy is tough but if your only skills are that of a debt collector you have no skills or hope for a life.
