This is a UPS number.  I had a package lost, and filed a ticket with UPS, and they called to follow up on the lost package.

Received a message stating they were UPS investigating a lost package, Called the number and was told I won a $100 gift card to WalMart and I would be redirected to claim my prize. In 16 years of dealing with UPS this was the first time that happened. Was told I just need to pay a processing fee of $4.95 and told them I have negative funds in my account sorry, but hey no worries we wont charge your card right away sir! so I asked, all you need is my credit card info then? Yes sir. No, I think Im good. CLICK

Received a call from an Atlanta number 770-557-3001, about a package that was stolen from my building last week. I've already resolved this with L.L. Bean, so I'm not sure why I would receive another call.

Same thing -- mysterious "experiencing problems with your package" voicemail. When I called back, they wanted the tracking number and my phone number. At that point, I Googled the number, found this site, and hung up. But yeah, what can they be hoping to accomplish?

Caller left message claiming to be from UPS looking for a lost package, even left tracking number to reference.  When I called back (same number)it was a recording congratulating me on being selected to receive a $100 gift card!!!  And no, I did not misdial.  TOTAL called disconnected when I did not press 1 for other offers.  Very creepy.

I received a call (866-706-6895) as well as other individuals from a supposedly UPS worker stating that he was calling in regards to a lost package with the last tracking numbers 9846. Claimed that they were a package of six caboose shoes?? I’m not sure if that’s what he said he was hard to understand. Said his name was Pablo. I never placed an order nor did I expect any thing in the mail from UPS in regards to what it sounds like he was saying. I will not call this number I believe it’s a fraud. UPS said it was not their number and to report 1-800-742-5877

The scammers are getting really crazy.. they sent me a UPS Ground (official) RETURN PRODUCT airbill.. complete with tracking number and UPS label.. to apply to a 'RETURN PRINTER'.. the address for the recipient of this 'return' given was: JAMES DAWSON PHONE 1866 706-6894  UPS CORPORATE OVERGOODS 1449 SOUTHERN ROAD, KANSAS CITY MO 64120.  I called the number and a man with an overseas accent answered.  When I asked him where he was located he said 'Asia'.  No doubt he was.. but he didn't work for UPS.  I had not requested a UPS pickup, had no printer to ship.. The impression is that they hope if they throw enough mud at the wall, some of it will stick....

I ordered an item from a company and it never arrived. I called them and they sent a replacement item which did arrive and said they believed the first package was lost. I just received a call that showed on the caller id as 770-557-3001 and the message said to call 866-706-6894 about my lost package. They had the original tracking number and the name of the company I ordered from but it sounded suspicious so I looked up the number and here I am. Some how they do have legit information which makes this very troubling.

Mary, information on this thread is confusing.  It would probably serve you well to go to the UPS website and call the number listed for lost package information and/or put in the original tracking number. Please post back if you do and let the community know if this was a valid call from UPS.  Thanks for posting.

The idea of people posting is to inform others about who called and what they called about. People can see what was posted and get an idea of who might have called them. Careful about inviting shills to post reassuring posts of validity.
Scammers spoof numbers and impersonate, so that person's experience is not going to guarantee others that their caller is legitimate, so a return visit to "update" is not really going to help. Everyone should call their local UPS and never rely on the caller being from UPS, especially if you haven't ordered anything recently.
I can't vouch for others, but when I had a package expected to arrive from UPS and never did, I called the place where I ordered it from and they took care of the delivery issue. UPS NEVER contacted me about it.

Called about a UPS package that was under investigation. Knowing that I haven't ordered anything and don't order anything illegal, I knew she was lying. The number i was told to call back was 18667066894. They called me from17705573001. The message was hard to understand, but the confirmation number was said to be 91Z ("as in zencake')989 z as in zen cake32131853. She said everything so fast I had to listen five times to write the correct numbers. When I called, she told her the confirmation number, but I thought she said YEN cake, so I kept saying Y as in yen cake. She corrected me. I said this is not an English word. Then I said," Am I in really big trouble? I swear, I didn't know nuclear bombs were illegal!" She said," yeah, you are in big trouble, it's under investigation." I told her to stop right there. Then I told her she is a lying scammer. I've ordered nothing, and she has interrupted someone's surgery and there will be repercussions unless she can tell me the address the package was going. She said yeah, will you tell me the address to confirm? I said I will after you do you lying scammer. She started reading of an address in a state I have never lived. I said i hope some dumbass scammer interupts a family member like your mother during an important surgery like you did this family. You call me again and i will file attempted manslaughter chargers against you. GOOD DAY! she said but i just--- I cut her off and said, " I said GOOD DAY!"

not goint to lie! i always wanted to do that.
