Just got the same call. Let them know what I thought in my reply. It was a woman that called saying she was a relay for the hearing impaired.

said was deaf and needed mney back from a check he sent for my boxer pups.

I posted an ad in a local paper for puppy that we found trying to place her in a home since we were unable to locate her original owners. Since doing so last night I have received 7 phone calls from this number. The first call came at 10:00 pm and the relay operater told me the individual was looking at adopting this pup and they wanted to do so IMMEDIATELY, there was something about the call that I felt uncomfortable with. Since that call last night I have received 6 more calls today at 12:44pm, 1:35pm, 3:39pm, 5:21 pm, 5:27pm and again at 8:58. They are persistant but it makes me wonder WHY, there is something fishy going on here. I am glad to say this gal already has a home promised to a wonderful family.

This guy (Vincent Brook) is on a roll. ALMOST fell for it until I found this site. Posted a puppy ad on Friday, and got the relay service call 12:40 pm Saturday. Followed up with email...EXACT same verbage as Christy-16 Oct 2008 post, listed on page 2 except he's using Yahoo for his email. Hoping to get my check so that I can "immediately deposit it" with the local authorities.

just got a call for a catering order for 110 people from this person wanting to pay for this on credit card and put additional 500 on this charge. this is rediculous that the person typing the messages knew this was a scam and let it coninue.

It is a relay company for people who are hearing impaired. They are not the ones trying to scam you, it's whoever is on the other line placing the call. They make frequent calls to the office I am a receptionist at. Many scammers will use their service to block their name and number and for prank calls. It is a legit service that real people use.

He almost got me to follow through with his plan, but my sister saw a red flag when I mentioned He offers no address, or any other connection to him. Also who uses Western Union to do their business with puppies. RED FLAGS!!!!!!!! I will no longer do business over the internet only face to face. Beware

Yes i had the same- three calls for Brussel Griffon pups.  Wanted them immediately- more focused on the instructions of what to do with check than the dog - the spelling was very bad and when I tried to get more info about them- nothing- Had a sick feeling in my stomach- THANK YOU ALL FOR POSTING-  I am glad that it was  not just me- AND i am glad to see any people have the same feelings of unrest which helps us all realize it is a scam.  The AKC should have a note of puppy scams on their site!!!!

this is the trick...they'll offer to pay you by check or money order and the amount on it will be more than you asking for they'll claim the excess money is for the shipping company that'll come to get the puppy all you need to do is deposit the check in your account,deduct your part and wire the money to the shipping company through western union or moneygram.Of course the check is fake and will bounce sometimes months after and the shipping company is their middleman here in the usa

I received a call from this # at 9:30 this morning requesting a photographer for a wedding on May 30th!  Didn't make sense.  Know I know why.
I am in Northern Michigan, the were requesting from Warren,  MI  supposedly.

I received two calls today requesting my photography service at an upcoming wedding. After going over the details and the price the caller "Linda" ask if I would do her a favor and charge the wedding planner fee along with my photography fee and the western union the money to the wedding planner. YEAH RIGHT, talk about a red flag for a scam.

I totally agree that this does such an injustice to the hearing impaired as well as the relay company. SO SAD:-(

i got a call at 8:04 fro this person saying hi how you been and i said whose this but the laddie wouldnt tell me and i was like just hit me up on aim and she was like watz ya aim and i told her  and then i was like welll why cant you call me straight up like with a real number and the last words were i just like to play games with you  can some one tell me  who da helll dat was

Id put my name on the do not call list, but people have been sending me threats through it, I am going to [***] take this company to court if i cannot get the information of who the [***] is calling.

A lady claiming to be assisting a deaf person names Adam called my phone. She did no offer to sell anything or try to get any money, but she was going over details of my house and family. I did not give information, however she knew where my xbox 360, and tv were located as well as my fathers name and my full name(first, middle, and last) i am slightly concerned because the caller tried to set up a place for us to meet. I was smart enough to decline but it's a bit strange.

I am an avon rep and I had a customer who told me via email that she was deaf and wanted to buy a large amount of products. I had to delete her order after she mailed me a fake check that was more than triple the amount that she had wanted to purchased. Upon handing the information over to the police, I started recieving "The phone calls" from 866-747-7352. If I didnt answer they would leave hangup voicemails (ie-voicemails with no answer). The one and only time I answered they claimed to be a relay service and I went postal on him, as they called me at midnight when I was sleeping. I told him that I do not communicate, nor do I do buisiness with felons, that his client sent me a fraudulant check and that he is lucky that I do not call the authorities. The only thing that the person was able to put on his "relay service" was the words Fraudulant Check- which at least was the main point. Two days after that call I recieved another call at 6:30 in the morning, which I ignored, and the 4 calls in a row I recieved tonight, which I also ignored. These people are sick frauds and they should be brought to justice!

Caller is bothering me constantly until I resorted to turn my phone off.

Interesting...I received this call the other day but was away from my phone so I didn't answer it. No msg left. I work with deaf/hh people so I don't know if it was a valid call from a deaf person or someone running a scam. Relay can be accessed through IM whether you are deaf or hearing so there's no saying who is making the call.
