They continuously call my mother demanding she tell them my work information and all numbers. I don't know who they are and when i call their number there is a busy signal.

A lady leaves a vm, she says her name and sounds like " Cariman ", with IRS, local 6017; and that I have a "case number 2699420", and I owe IRS $60 which has now ballooned to $106 due to interest; and they would accept payment only by check. I call up and get: " the number you dialed could not be reached in your calling area." If I owe something, I would like to pay; but how do I pay if I could not reach the number?

These scumbags called my 75 year-old father constantly harassing him. So I called them and the lady was a total nitwit. Then when I gave her my address she kept saying, "wait a sec, wait a sec." So I told her to write faster. So then she called back the caller ID and hung up on me. So I called her and said, "Aren't you the crafty one." So she was babbling on and I finally said, "Well, if you're gonna call me, at least saying something. Otherwise you look like an idiot." Fun times!

People, this is a SCAM. If it was legit, the callback number would work. The reason it comes up busy is because they're using Skype and spoofging their caller ID with a fake number.

Impersonating an IRA representative is a federal offense. Call your local IRS office to turn them in and file complaints with the FTC and the attorney general.

They are overseas, probably in Cayman Islands or India.

General Collection Services is consistent violator of FDCPA and FCRA in their inability to follow the law. A longtime collector for American Express, their continued ability to keep that plum client is a mystery - until you see how it's done by reading comments from consumers.

call the IRS and see what they say you owe if anything,  probably nothing.

Ms. Clark was calling for my husband saying she was from the Tax Commission.  The number on the caller ID was not the 866 number, but the number she gave us to call back was.  I took the number she wanted him to call back which was 866-749-7279 extension 6020.  I called my husband to tell him and he googled it and found this.  I called her back at that number and she answered (without having to dial an extension).  I told her if she was from the tax commission that she should send us a letter and that we will no longer take calls from that number.

Received a call at my office yesterday asking for my boss. She was headed out the door to return to Canada, so I took a message for her to call Linda Evans at 866-749-7279 ext 6022 and I asked what it was regarding and the caller identified herself as being with the State of Utah, the state in which my office is located.

My boss tried returning the call from Canada and the toll free number did not work there, so she asked me to call and ask for an alternate number. I phoned the 866-749-7279 number and it was answered 'GC Services" was given the number of 847-931-2083. I also asked what it was regarding and they said you just have to have correct first name-incorrect name-correct last name call. I informed them that the incorrect name mentioned has never been held by my boss. They agreed to update their records.

I have no idea who this is, but they are now calling my ex inlaws stating its urgent and I need to call them!

Received a call from this GC Services 1-866-749-7279 x6002(www.gcserv.com) wishing to confirm my address.  They previously had my old address and wanted to update my information.  I called back and had them give me their website address.  The scarry thing is they had my social security number (or at least the last 4 of my social security) and were unwilling to answer any of my questions until I confirmed with them my address and my social security number.  GC Services appears to be a Third Party call center that performs Third Party verification for Credit authorization and billing/payment information.  I would not privide them with any personal information unless they tell you on who's behalf they are calling on first.

i havent lived in Illinois for years so she calls and says she is calling from there and I need to return her call.  no explanation, nothing.  I cant imagine I have any unfinished business there!  I think this is a con!

I got a letter from them today saying that as of March 4 I owed the Utah State Tax Commission $411.84 and I needed to send them a check immediately and due to interest they would call me with the correct amount before they deposited my check. The best part is I paid the bill for my back taxes a month ago! Can't wait till they open again so I can call them and let them know I am filing a complaint with the attorney general!!

They called saying they were the illinois department of revenue!!!!  they called my mothers house!!!

They also claimed I owed UT Tax Commission. As far as i know and from what my lawyer says it UT Tax Commission will collect thier own debt. Has anything new happend since

caller should have left the name of an identifying business if professional and legit.

I know for a fact that this number, 866-749-7279, belongs to GC Services Limited Partnership. It is an authorized agent of the Illinois Dept of Revenue (collection agency used to collect on unpaid state taxes). Try resolving your debt directly with the Dept of Revenue to avoid collection fees on top of unpaid taxes.

received collection notice they are attempting to collection for the utah stat tax commission for someone who lived at my address over five years ago. Now they are calling and of course asking al kinds of personal questions and will not accept they have they wrong person. Dumb. She said if I refuse to tell her my name and ssn she will continue to call and will at some point return the account to Utah state tax commission for collectoin through the courts!!!!!

Since this isn't me I suggested she just stop calling and send in the attorneys and what everelse they do.
