called on tuesday jan. 15 accusing of owing money

They got a hold of  my cel phone # and when they call, it comes up on my display as coming  from the United States.  I have a hard time believing Canadian governments would use an American collection agency.  I wish they would stop calling though.  Not a distraction I need when driving.

Collection agency that hasn't got thier s``` together  They call and want money for some debt they say I owe  So I ask for the proof I owe it and to whom I owe it they can't or haven't ever provided it and or with who this debit is owing too Thank goodness for call forwarding  I've call forwarded Icour's # to the police dept. These people have been in the news, they have been fined by various provinces through out Canada as they do not follow the debt collection act, also they are false accusing people of owing money.   They have now got my cell.   So just to give them a taste of their own medicine, I call them all the time and when someone picks up I just hang up on them.   They call people 22 times it not more a day, I say we all get together and jam their phone line!.
Another way to know they are a scam is that when you call, they just answer the phone "hello" or "How may I help you".   I have never got someone who identifies the company so who knows where these calls go??   Also, if you call after hours, the message says "You have called after business hours, please call during business hours"   It does not identify the company, nor give business hours, how are we to know what they are??   For all I know, you can be open from 6am - midnight Monday - Saturday?   A ligit company would say on a recording "Thank you for calling IQor Canada, the office is now closed, please call us during 7am  - 5 pm Monday - Friday"  
Or when you call, someone should say "Thank you for calling Iqor, how may I assist you?"
This is how you know our economy is bad if people are so desperate for a job, they will work here!

I too was and still receive calls from IQor literally over 100 now since October 2012 and like others on this thread I have installed a Panasonic cord/cordless system with Call Block (Panasonic appears to be a major provider of this feature).  I also like several other features like the Talking Caller ID. If the name/number is in your calling list it will verbally announce it.

At this point as someone stated it really is our technology vs. theirs and they cannot seem to get around it.

They even have phoney websites and a variety of corporate names. I think they're offshore.

I've even called them back 30 or 40 times in a row just to give a little back and when they call the system rings, busy out, disconnect. The secret is give them absolutely NO information, you have NO obligation to give them anything.

Have been receiving calls from this number since september 2012...blocked them on my cell after third or fourth call

This company keeps calling my home saying they have a very important message for me.
I have friends travelling and I get very concerned because I do not know if this company is trying to contact me in an emergency or not.  I need someone to stop this scamming company from calling my number.

These guys call me twice a day on my cell, four times a day on the house phone and twice a day on my fiancées cell. When we usually just let them ring until they stop. But we got so tired of the phones ringing ALLL day that we called them back. They asked for the number, I gave them my cell, they said it wasn't in there data base. Called them back a few minutes later, asked me again for the number, gave them the house number, they told me it wasn't in the data base...again. Then my fiancé called, was asked for the number, then was told it wasn't in the data base. Asked them why they keep calling us on both cell phones and the home phone! And that they MUST be in the data base if wee get several calls every day from 7am to 11pm.they refused to answer, saying that we should call our cell phone provider (bell or Rogers). Well I called bell for our cell phones. They said they don't give out customers cell phone numbers because they could get sued and they don't know who these people are. I called Eastlink for our home phone and they said the same thing. They don't give customers numbers out because it goes against their customer privacy contract.
The next time I get a call from these rude people I'm going to demand them to take my numbers off their list and that they will be hearing from my lawyer.

Just received a call from this number, but 'whoever' hung up right after I answered-didn't get the chance to say 'hello'.

I recently got a new cell phone for work.  The number must have been recycled as the 2nd day I started using the phone, I started receiving calls from 866-801-1526.  I have no debt.  I have been ignoring them but one day I decided to pick up the call only to hear a recorded message saying that I must immediatly call them back.  When I try to call them back, it goes to another automated message saying that all of their reps are busy.  I googled 866-801-1526 and found out that they are Iqor canada.

I am planning to e-mail them and CC telecommuncations commission as suggested by another suffer of such calls.  I hope these calls stop soon.

So what can we do about this Icore company.  All we do is to sound off frustrated. I contracted CRTC and they refer me to the Do Not Call Agency. I sent them an email and not even sure if they can do anything. I get three calls from them a week.  I called back once at 6:01 pm (PST) and they said they are closed. I got the call at 5:58 pm.  So my question is:  Who can do something about it?  This is total Harassment!

Why doesn't our Timid Canadian Government show some teeth!

The owners of this phone number (1-866-801-1526) are a real pest, several calls per day, morning and in the evening too. There are many scams  using the telephone service and I want no part of them. If they do not identify themselves and the reason they call, I want no part of them and have no intention of returning their call.
My taxes and credit owing accounts are all up to date and paid on time.

I have  received a few calls for this number that are on my home phone unlisted Number. It states it is important for me to call them back. Hell they want to speak to me they can have a live voice speak to me.

I have been getting a call from a blocked number for six months or more, it usually only rings half a time before it disconnects. Today I decided to pick it up and it was already midway through the message. Only got part of it, but got enough of it to look it up on this site. When I called them back and gave them my number they asked for Marc something or other. I told them I've had this number for 5 1/2 years. They then asked me how to contact Marc. I told them the only person named Marc I knew was my sister's ex-husband who I have not seen in almost 20 years. She asked me is he could have used my number - yeah, I haven't seen him since 1993, but he used my unlisted number he has never known.  At least I got them to take my number out of the database (or so they said).

I received a completely legitimate parking ticket from my college, and after a few months of non-payment, I was mailed a letter by iQor requesting payment of $32.00, referencing the same ticket # as the original Impark ticket left on my windshield - I keep every ticket I have ever received for situations like these. The letter also advised that Imperial Parking/Impark (same company) had forwarded the debt to them. Impark/Imperial Parking is also the company that handles pay parking at my college. I had already paid the original ticket online to Impark a few days before I received the letter, so iQor was collecting on a legitimate debt, and by my logic could very well then be a legitimate company. Keep in mind that it is possible a scammer may be making calls claiming to be iQor, without being in any way associated to the actual company - this is very common. Regardless, never give out your personal info online or over the phone.
