Call all time of the day, am to after 8pm

Just got another call from this number with the same old message to stating that this is a call for >>>>, please have >>>>> call. etc.,
How boring.  Could they not come up with another tactic.  If they really were going after a debt they would not use a prerecorded message and then prerecorded names on a cell phone which can be answered by any individual around.  It should be looked into as a violation of privacy for the person, even if they do owe money.

I have been getting these calls for 3 years.  Anytime day or evening up to 9:30 PM.  I try to speak to anyone and they give me a recording.  Today I called the number back and got a recording saying they could connect me with someone.  They did.  I told the man on the line to stop calling this number or I was reporting them to the BBB.  He said, "Lady you don't even know who this is."  He hung up so I decided to put the number on google to find out who it is.  How can we stop the call?

Just got another call a few minutes ago.  I just pick up the phone and hang up.  I am tired of their calls.  Yes I am behind on some of my bills.  They are the ones that refused to work with me after surgery and leave without pay.  They continue to call, using various numbers, sometimes 3 and 4 times in a row.  It is getting pretty silly.  Why does the government not do something about this type of harrassment.  Help bail out those of us that tried to do the right thing and pay our debts, instead of bailing out the banks so they can continue to harrass us.  I am beginning to think that the bailout should have paid my debt in full. Any one agree?

Just got a call from this number once again.  I answered the phone and did not speak.  They eventually hung up.  I have had numerous calls from this number and a few others that seem to be connected.  They seem to now be coming in at approximately 1/2 hour apart from each other.  Any way to stop these calls once and for all.

I too receive automated calls from them multiple times a day and more frequently on the weekends. An hour ago I got a call from a living person and took a message. He seemed polite enough but after reading the previous posts I am seriously considering not calling back.

Just received another call from this # and just opened the phone, didn't say anything, and waited from them to disconnect.  It is getting old.  I am not going to answer their calls and I will not return the calls.  I know it is a collection call and I am tired of the rudeness and the threats by all of these people.

Wow, these people are insane. I do not answer my home telephone number as they are ALWAYS looking for someone who doesn't live here and whom I do not know. So I've been out of town and I checked my electronic vmail to have 13 messages and 12 were from them looking for this person. I called back and received vmail then called back again and someone answers "Yep, can I help you" Ha, what a joke. Apparently they're going to remove me from the list but we'll see if that happens. When I google Brachfield Law Group, I get a great deal of negative feedback online so I'm not confident these ppl are legit.

these people have called me constantly, bith at home and on my cell....i asked for proof of the debt and trhey declined to provide it...so i declined to make any form of payment on something i was not sure i even owed....i found the website listed aove, and attempted to submit a cease and desist email, however the page appearedto be broken and the website was under construction.... i feel that this is a spam or hoax and we are all eing bullied

Why can't our Congress stop these companies?  They are terrorist.  This is horrible.  Why can old or written off debt be sold to these bottom feeders.  How can this be legal.  How can the banks write off things through bankruptcy or statue of limitations and sell our information?  This is horrible.  They call and call and call.  VERY unprofessional.  The last person was laughing and talking to a coworker while leaving a message.  I bought a Uniden phone with the ability to block calls.  This helps.  It almost doesn't matter to fight the company, they just sell your information to someone else.

Your State Attorney General will help.

They left a message for me at work. Has anyone ever discussed the legality of those messages companies leave where they say " hello we are looking for so and so and if this is not so and so please hang up.... and 10 seconds later you hear you're name and debt .

Well here is what I found out. This company does not own my alleged debt. The debt in question was purchased by a company called Resurgent and they have hired this company to collect. I was told that if I dont pay then they will send the account back to Resurgent.

The lady I spoke to also said that resurgent buys old debt. SO thanx to her I know the alleged debt was sold at least once and when that happens the buyer usually pays pennies on the dollar.

what else? oh yhea they claim I owe $900 plus but willing to take $450.

I asked them to show me proof that they owned the debt. that I wanted to see a receipt of purchase. and that they had legal permission to collect on the account. It doesnt look like they have it or at the very least they are "kindly" refusing by simply responding with an account #, DOB, etc info anyone can have. How does telling me my date of birth prove they can collect on an account they feel I owe?

I asked them not to call me at work and they said they would send me an "demand letter" via email. We'll see if I get anything.

These folks keep calling me, now they call my work place and ask people to take messages for me, this is disrespectful and i hate the fact they involve other people in my life, now many people at work know that i am owing com damn debt collector. i just need them to stop

We started getting these calls again from this company. There was an issue about maintainence fees for a condo we no longer owned. $320 from 1996. I refused to pay. Over the years, these people called and threatened, harrassed, screamed and cursed. I still refused. For a while, they stopped. Then a
month ago again they started again. This time I called my lawyer. After 2 letters and a phone call, I got ahold of the manager, Mr. Hill. I was very polite. I told him I had checked my credit report and his agency had put not one, but two "failure to pay" notices on my credit report. One in 2008 for $8009.00 and on in Feb of 2010 for $8193.00. I had also received a bill for the amount of $8809.30. He was very nasty and replied they had not done that. I told him I got the phone number directly off the credit report. So I was pretty sure he or his agency had done it. I told him that property was included in a bankruptcy and we didn't owe any of it. He said. "Sure. People tell us that all the time, but they still own the property." So he was calling me a liar. I said the lawyer had told me he (Mr. Hill) had told him the matter was taken care of. He said, "No! I told him I would look at it." So I disputed both of the "failure to pay" notices, and asked him to remove them. That was Friday April 30, 2010, I checked the credit report today, May 3, 2010 and both notices have been removed. He knew he was attempting to defraud me for $17,000.00 for a $320 bill I never owed. I think I will still sue him, because he lowered my credit score 100 points. I had to pay more interest on my home, and anything I financed since 1996, just because I didn't check my credit report. Also, I had to pay a lawyer to straighten it out. I had copies of the bankruptcy papers, but he seemed to think that was immaterial.

I ran out of room on the last post, but I wanted to say,

Check your credit report!!!!! All 3 of them.
If there's any errors or fraudulent activity, dispute it immediately.
Keep copies of everything in a file folder.

You have the right not to get these calls at work. Very easy. Have your supervisor be with you when they call and you answer the call. Tell them you are no longer able to accept their calls at work. Have the supervisor give their name and ask for theirs. Have the supervisor tell them you are no longer allowed to accept their calls at your workplace. By law they have to stop.

I changed my phone number to get rid of them :)
