Make good notes on the dates and times of the calls. They are breaking the law by making these harassing calls. The more calls you make note of, the better! Save any recorded phone messages from them. Transcribe them verbatim and include the transcription with your notes. When you have gathered enough evidence, contact a law firm that specializes in consumer litigation. The firm will not charge you anything. If the firm decides to sue the collection agency on your behalf and wins the case (the collection agency will likely settle out of court), the consumer litigation firm will take the lions' share of the proceeds, but you will receive a nice percentage, and the calls will be stopped. I just received $1,000 from such a case. If I hadn't contacted the law firm, I would still be getting the calls and I wouldn't be $1,000 richer. Best of all, I stuck that rapacious company with a $2,500 legal bill.

Just go purchase an answering machine from Walmart.  Call a number that you know has been disconnected (or download the audio file from the internet) and record your greeting message with that disconnected message.  Once the stupid debt collector (Most debt collectors are illiterate criminals according to Chris Hansen of Dateline NBC) thinks the number is no good, he will take it out of his out call database.

I am not an attorney.  I can not and will not give any legal advice.  Yet, I am a psycho.  Go to a process service company with a law suit.  Ask them to serve the president of the company.  It is impossible.  Yet, for the process server to get paid (by you), he must provide proof that he attempted to serve.  That proof will thus include the physical address where the attempt was made.  Go to that physical address in person and demand proof that they will stop bothering you.  Remember, you could face problems with trespassing.

Can you loan money by making a journal entry? If you lawfully can then you should pay whatever they say you owe. Because that means banks can do the same thing. However, it seems credit is created by your name or from you. How is that real money? Well whatever you believe is real including lies, isn't it? If you don't see where this is coming from or going to you might be a brain dead sheep.

Aside from just using your computer to search some self-help on how to stop the harassment with confidence by just typing in how to deal with credit calls or collections calls, you might also consider http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/a4v/ which has some killer paper to respond to the mischief makers as well as other alternatives. If you're at all an independent thinker and really understand the concept of liberty and freedom what is discussed there makes lots of sense.

If you really understood the mischief you believe as good.

Just listened to a voicemail from a woman named Jessica from Brachfield Law Group regarding an important legal matter. Slaughtered my name and stuttered throughout the message...as if reading a script and really misread it! Provided me with a return # to call between the hours of 10am-5pm CST. Really?!

I had a couple payday loans, but made sure they were with reputible, legitimate companies, but these have been paid in full with no collection accounts whatsoever.

Not sure what this call is about. I haven't returned the call.

I have received numerous calls from this number about a very old debt that was paid in full through the credit card company.  This BOGUS, ILLEGAL and FRAUD so-called Debt collectors go by many different names. Brachfield Law Group, Meridian Mangement, and Broadfield.  They harass you and are downright nasty and rude.  When you see these Names or Numbers on your caller ID, DO NOT ANSWER them, eventually they will get frustrated and hopefully will not call again.  Theses companies are all PHONY and they are all a bunch of SCAM artists posing as a collection agency and or a law firm.
I have checked them out and reported them to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission).  They are aware that these companies are BOGUS.  The bad part is, the FTC is so bombarded with so many similiar complaints about other phony companies, I just do not think they have the time to stop them, even though they try to investigate these illegal companies.  Do not get upset with these morons, they just get a kick out of harassing people.  Some day they will all be behind bars for a very long time.

I am a former attorney who I shamefully admit did a small amount of debt collection. However, I know the rules and the game quite well. These call centers robo-dial people and try and intimidate them into paying any thing they can get. The people making the calls are minimum wage hacks who need the job so they continue to work for nothing and cannot be getting any type of moral satisfaction from what they do. Remember when a consumer owes money they hammer you when a bank owes money the consumer bails them out with the assistance of Congress who you elect.
The law firm, well these [***] are paying 4-6 cents on the dollar from newly charged off debt and take it on because of the intimidation factor associated with a 'law firm.' Law firms today more than at any other time are doing whatever they can to generate fees and will even break the law because---they can defend themselves.
Check out the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and document and report these companies to the Federal Trade Commission.

A reliable company does not make a phone call for such an important matter.
They send a letter stating details-who they are-who they represent, amount of debt, etc.
Even if you have debt, a company using the "call immediately fear", by someone you don't know or ever heard of should make you suspicious right away.
If you do talk to them, always ask what company they represent so that you can call and verify them.
    Don't give any information.
    They usually hang up.
These companies can also be reported to the Better Business Bureau.

The Fair Debt Collection Act (FDCPA) was put into place To give people legal rights when it comes to collection agencies and collection attorneys.  If this collection agency is calling you for a debt you owe or a debt that is not yours, they could be violating your rights.
If you are being contacted by this or any collection agency, get in contact with me, my name is Ryan Pfeffer and my company is FDCPA Compliance. The website is not up yet but my email is working. contact me asap so we can determine what rights these the bottom feeders have violated and take action.
