- Nae| 1 replyGot 5 calls in one day from this number. They finally left a voicemail and it was an automated message from Progressive. It said they needed updated info and even left a reference number.
I called Progressive customer service from their number on the website. Spoke with a representative and Progressive had NOT been trying to call me. THIS IS A SCAM. Do not give them any personal info. - Me4 calls in one freaking day.. one at 9:30pm? I DONT THINK SO. I dont care WHO you ARE or WHAT you need.
- Caller: didnt answer
- Sue replies to SteveAbsolutely GREAT advice. Wish everyone could see this!
- shuggieThey called twice and left that same message in the aforementioned posts. I called Progressive and they are NOT trying to get a hold of me. Any post on here that says it IS Progressive is probably from the people making the scam calls.
- Jon H replies to SteveProgressive wanted something, probably legit but I don't want my insurer to get any more informaton than they have.
Ima licensed agent DON'T LIKE IT? Then send me a nonrenewal I can reply with the information to circumvent. P---- off!
Good show Steve. - Lili5775I received a call from this number but no message...so strange because they went all the way up to the recording part and then hung up. after reaching this forum, I called progressive they said they had NO notes stating that a call was made to me or service was necessary. because I bundle my car insurance with my homeowner's she transferred me over to homeowner's who reviewed the policy with me and said that no contact was made since the inception of the policy- nor was any needed.
basically- this number is a scam. if it calls you, do not give them your information and instead call progressive directly yourself to make sure you are reaching a real rep and review anything if need me.- Caller: SCAM progressive
- ColraineI received a phone call on my home phone from this number. It was a voice recording asking for me by name and saying they were progressive. Thing is, progressive does NOT have my home phone number. They only have my cell number for the account. Hung up and logged in to progressive.co. I am in good standing.
- Caller: TOLL-FREE
- ashleyRobocall saying was Progressive, have a message. Gives code to retrieve message. When call back, says I have a drivers license in another state and asks for current DL number. Must be a scam. Hung up
- Caller: Progressive
- Call type: Prank
- JimI got a voice mail what was just someone leaving this number for me to call back. The was no description about who they were or what they wanted, just the phone number. Neither me, nor any of my family members use Progressive.
- Amydo not give this company / phone number any information it's a scam
- Caller: A Scan
- Call type: Prank
- aI got a call from this number this morning, looked it up here and then called Progressive. This is not a number from Progressive. They will never call you and ask you to supply your personal information. Block this number.
- KayThis is a legit Progressive call. I asked for the reps name and told them that I would call them back directly via their 1-800-progressive number. When I called back (from a different phone), they were able to confirm via their call log that they had called me, who I had spoken with, and for how long. They were just asking me to log into the website and confirm my new address
- Caller: Progressive
- Dan JablonskiI did not answer this call...no message left.
- LegitimateI confirmed this call was legitimate with Progressive. I gave my birthday and driver's license number to the caller, then was suspicious as soon as I hung up. I called Progressive (1-800-Progressive) and they confirmed that my driver's license had been updated today in their system. They also confirmed that they routinely do calls like this prior to a policy renewal (sometimes more than a month in advance) to ensure the new quote for renewal is up to date and accurate.
...Phew!- Caller: Progressive
- ChrisI called Progressive after receiving a message stating it was them and reading these comments. It is in fact Progressive, and for my reason, I was still under my policy listed with a Commercial License from another state, so the mistake was corrected when I called 1-800-Progressive.
- Caller: Progressive
- JessIt is not Progressive though they claim to be. It is a phishing scam. I called Progressive immediately after I got a call wanting my DOB and last four social which I did not give and they said they had no record of needing any information from me.
- NopeReceived a call from this numer at 7am....nope. Not ever.
- AlHad 3 calls from this number today today, 9:30am, 12pm, and then 7:15pm. Left a voicemail on the 3rd call, claiming to be Progressive (my insurance company) lising my name and my wife's name, with instructions to call them back and an access code.
I decided to call Progressive directly (number on their website) and ask if it was them. They said based on my account, they had no reason to call me, and was likely a scammer. Promptly blocked the number.- Caller: Fake "Progressive"
- EdwardCalled twice. No message. Based on people's comments I logged onto progressive website. Everything is in order, no outstanding bills or messages. This is a scam as far as I'm concerned. A legitimate call would have left a message.
- robertI rec'd an automated voicemail message this evening asking me to call a different 866 number (866-840-4148) and I was supposed to enter a code to get another automated message that was asking for additional auto insurance information. Instead of leaving info, I contacted progressive and they did not need any additional information from me -- this is a scam!!
- Caller: Not Progressive
