- Veronica HGot 2 calls today from this number. Like others have said, asked me to press 1 if it was me and 2 if it wasn't. I've been with Progressive 11 years...and they don't contact me in this manner. I hung up instead and called the number on the Progressive contact page. It took a little while, but when I spoke to the rep, she verified that if there is a problem with your account, a LIVE PERSON will make the call and that they don't use robocallers for this purpose. She looked at both my auto and homeowners policy and verifed that the last activity noted in my account was to thank me for my payment in full in OCTOBER and she did not see a record of anyone entering the account since then.
DO NOT EVER GIVE YOUR information in an unsolicited call. Call the company in question directly. They will have the appropriate accesses to make sure any issue is taken care of.- Caller: Claiming to be Progressive

- Emily W.THIS IS A SCAM. I just spoke with Progressive. Jennifer told me that Progressive does not just cold call looking for information. They will send an email or letter in the mail to have you call them to update your Driver's License or any personal information. Jennifer did verify my policy number. She did not ask for personal information other then name and date of birth just to verify who she was speaking with. All of my information is up to date and no reason for Progressive to be calling me.

- CoreyNumber claimed to be from Progressive and that I mad have another drivers license from another state on file. Thats possible, I did move about 8 years ago. Was prompted to press 1 to speak to a rep. I was quickly connected to a nice women who sounded American. (Most scams use international call centers). I explained that this feels a little off and that I would hang up and call progressive insurance back. I called in to the number on progressive's website and they told me that any such notice would be mailed and that they have no need to check the status of my DL. She mentioned that the scams are getting pretty sophisticated.
Short of it, don't let the number that called you, connect you to the next number. You have no way to verify who it really is. Always hangup, look up the number online and call back. Always.- Caller: Progressive Ins.

- BMReceived multiple calls from this number. I didn't answer but they left messages saying Progressive had an important message for me and that I should call a different number (866-840-4148). I called the known Progressive customer service number located on their website and they looked through my account and said they had no record of any messages for me and advised me that the call I received was a scam. They took both phone numbers in order to report them to their security team.

- AmberRecieved a voicemail saying its progressive asking me to call them back with a "message code" to hear important information regarding my policy. This number is not on my ID cards or their website or app, so I called a number that is on my ID cards they check my home and my auto policies and both were current with no recent attempted contacts. Beware SCAM

- TThis number called pretending to be Progressive Auto Insurance. I released the call immediately because I know I don't have any claims in process with Progressive at this time. The last time I had a claim was 2 yrs. ago. There's NO reason why Progressive Auto Insurance would need to verify my account for any kind of claim.

- ChristinaReceived a call from an unknown caller so I didn’t answer. They left a voicemail. The VM was automated & gave me this phone number to call to retrieve an important message from Progressive & gave me a code to retrieve the message. I called the number, it too was automated & asked for my message retrieval number. I entered the number & the automated voice told me the retrieval code has expired. I called progressive to ask about this & the representative looked through my account & couldn’t find any messages or problems. I believe this was a scammer trying to get personal information from me.

- MindscramblerWell, this is a scam that will never die. Something interesting to add, before the progressive part started there was something about Walgreens that I heard. The seemed to have messed up their playback files. Still though, the fact they have me and my partners names tied to my phone number worries me, but that is the society we live in these days.

- calling out crap replies to Relievedya no u didnt dont call back robots
- Progressive CustAutomatic calls to update information, a few weeks before annual renewal. Unfortunately, the set-up is backwards and it sends you to customer service without any information. So customer service is confused as to why -- you called them-- you're confused why --they called you.
Go online and make sure your DL, email, and mailing address is up to date.- Caller: Progressive

- joSecond call today from this number claiming that they had record of an out of state drivers license. Very good scammer, the human on the other end even had the same greeting script as a Progressive rep! I hung up and called Progressive directly, and they said they had no outward phone calls from me and to disregard whatever that phone number was claiming.
