- Ronin| 21 repliesReceived a call from NME Prize Disbursement.
The lady informed me that I MIGHT have won a Million Dollars.
She asked me what I would do with the money if I won, then she proceeded to list about 30 different magazines that I MIGHT be interested in subscribing to. The price for each magazine was a weekly fee, not a yearly fee, and it was a SCAM, pure and simple.
The magazines don't even cost that much if you buy them off the newsstands...
She told me that I was called regarding this due to my excellent credit standing and wanted to know if I wanted to use my Mastercard or Visa to purchase the magazines that she talked about. I informed her that I already have a subscription to some of them and that I'm really not interested in the others.
At this point she made a huffing sound and hung up on me.

- Karen| 1 replyI also received a check that is not a check from NME Prize Disbursement (Clearwater, Fl). The "check" instructs the recipient to call 1-866-873-1520 in order to complete the entry process. The Sweepstakes is for $2,100,000.00.
The back of the form states that the sweepstakes is in conjunction with promotions and solicitations affiliated with National Magazine Exchange.- Caller: NME Prize Disbursement
- Steph| 1 replyI recieved the same letter and called to register. I was told that I was selected and won a man and woman's watch as well as to receive 3 different magazines for just $1 a week. I told him that I was not interested and he said that the watches came with the Mags... again I am not interested. Well you are also eligible for a 5 star vacation to Las Vegas or Orlando are you interested and I said no but was transfered anyway. I called back and no one answered so I tried again and finally a lady answered and I asked her to verify that I was not signed up for anything. She verified it and let me go. I have no idea if this is real but my guess would be NO.

- carneliafMy son received a check that is not a check in the mail this week, for 2.1M. I did a search and came up with this blog. Thanks for all the info, in particular the number to call and get his name and mine of the phone and mailing lists. People just do not give up. I guess the old say "a sucker born every minuet" keeps the scam artists hoping. Anyway thanks once again for the info.
