- Hari replies to JaymanThanks for sharing the info, my $ 2.1 million check is now in the trash.
- Albuquerque Turkey replies to RoaddaveWe also received the "$2.1 million dollar check"
Our Code# is 723637101 so they at least have more than a single "entry code"
The call-back phone number is the same. - Albuquerque Turkey replies to Nicole| 1 replyIt may be worth the trouble to cancel your checking acount and open a new one. That way NME would have no way to access your old account. I have no idea how legal this is so you may want to call one of the "Free Legal Advice" numbers before proceeding.
- G-dawgI also got this NME sweepstakes in the mail for $2.1M. What a joke! I received this in the past at my old address, so I know this is phony. Bascially, this National Magazine Exchange company get your mailing address and name from your major credit card company. If you have good credit, this NME company will send you this bogus fake $2.1 million check in the mail with a 9-digit ID# and a 1-800 number to call. All the other guy at the end of the phone will ask you is what would you do if you won $2.1M and further ask if you want to purchase a one-year subscription to a particular magazine. Pffft. I don't have the 1-800 number as well as my 9-digit ID with me, as I have already shredded it. I recommend the rest of you who received this BS in the mail to do the same thing.
- Belgium Babe replies to RoaddaveSame phone number, different entry code! What a scam!!! I put them on speed dial and have it set to call constantly this morning. (hee hee) If everyone does this, then they'll be out of business just due to the phone bills!
- AmandaI got my fourth fake check in 3 years yesterday. Cracks me up. I don't know of any REAL contest that runs for 3 years without a drawing for a winner. I assumed this whole thing was a scam from the beginning. The first time I got it, I tried calling b/c I was a little naive. I can't recall how many times I was put on hold and transferred. They kept pushing for my credit card info, offering all sorts of things if I would just buy a damn magazine. I kept saying no. The only way I got them to shut up was saying "am I allowed this kind of thing, I'm only 17." I was actually 23 at the time but figured I'd razz them a little. THey prompyly hung up. POint of all this nonsense? YES IT IS A SCAM...shred that paper!
- AmandaI've recieved this same scam and fell for it in the past (over three years ago!!) and just recieved a new fake 2.1 mil check again in the mail today... Guess they've been doing this to people for a LOONGG TIMEE
I say DO CALL and maybe we should start getting just as pushy with them! - KimJust got the letter today saying I possibly won the 2.1 million. Smart, I Googled and found this. They got me 3 years ago, screwed up my credit!! Had to learn the hard way, but I learned. Thanks for the info.
- AnyOne replies to RoninSent me by post mail too. Thanks for the headsup!
- RisktakerYou mean I didn't win the $2.1 Million??? My wife called and told me we won so I immediately quit my job and stopped by the Jag dealer and ordered a new XKR. Now I don't have any way to pay for my new car...or my mortgage, or my utilities, or my son's college education...
Maybe I better re-check my entry code number: 726171914, surely there has been some mistake!
I'll bet there are people out there that have really thought they won and done something drastic...most likely a little old man/lady who can barely afford to live on a meager social security check. I've had to work at some really lousy jobs in my lifetime, but I just can't understand how anyone can work somewhere knowing that they are taking advantage of those who can least afford to be taken advantage of...and they probably make minimum wage themselves.- Caller: NME

- CruiseToCashLiving.com866-308-3111 was the number that I was called from. I guess these are the same people. This is a bunch of scam. Wow, how these guys stay in business.

- esefabi replies to DONNAwell i just got in mail, a fake check saying that i was entered to win 2.1 million. sounds the same as you did at your time? So no one has got any money then huh? i think its a scam. i never entered any drawings or contest, simply because i dont beleive in them, si i know i did not enter.
- esefabiwell just called a number on the letter i got from NME Prize Disbursement, not the 1-800-687-9411, but the number on the back, with fine print which reads to opt out of any future contest or sweepstakes call 1800-690-3623.
Automated machine i entered my Etry code and zip code, machine achknowledged and said i would be removed from any future mail from their compamy.
once again number to call to STOP getting mail from them is 800-690-3623.- Caller: NME

- LisaI just receive this letter of winning 2.1 million. It seemed sketchy to me. So I decided to google the name of the company and here I ended up. I figured it was a scam. To good to be true. haha. Nothing is ever free in this world. Apparently there is a website where anyone can purchase anybodies information, family members, relatives, friends, even yourself for a certain amount of money. I've even seen my own information on it. I just don't know how to remove myself.

- BrittneyI'm a financial consultant and see letters like this a lot. I have been on a blocked calling list and always opt out on any credit products i choose to eliminate these fraudsters from finding me It is strange after 4 years they are starting back again. This company is something else!

- oscamaWe also received the Pat Haines millionaire scam letter
several times. They claimed the millionaire drawing will
be held and announced on December 31, New years eve.
If it happened, I have not heard of a winner yet.
Big Time Scam! I never bought the magazine and never
gave them information either. They claim to be in Clearwater,FL
and do the same song and dance every year.
whats the current gooods on them?
Are they now claiming the next drawing will be
December 31 2008? Call them on it! the LIARS!
If theres a class action lawsuit, count me in! - elfakeoIf someone actually showed up at their place of business
in Clearwater, FL to ask for a List of actual winners,
with their name, phone numbers, addresses, because you plan
to personally visit and interview each one,
I bet they would stall, tell lies and do everything they
could to Not give you that list, because its a big fraud
and they know it. They cannot keep it from you,
Millionaire winners are Public information, just like when
you win the lottery and all the publicity comes out.
If they did give you the list, if they did give you
a list, I bet you could not find the people on it,
because its all fake, but then you would have proof. - Celly replies to Albuquerque TurkeyMost banks will put a stop transfer on your account for a charge of about 20 bucks. Plus they will report the scam to your local BBB. Your right though using your bank card is very dangerous and expensive.
