HAAAAAA! I love when people get info so wrong. This is the bank, it is BB&T, it is not a scam. It you are two days late on your loan payment, regardless of being in grace period, your info gets put into the auto dialer system. When you call back, you may get a busy signal because of all the out dials... MAKE YOUR PAYMENT AND THE CALL WILL STOP!!! easy as that.

I have gotten this call five times in the last 3 days. I don't have any accounts with BB&T so why would I need to pay a bill I don't have. Are you part of the scam?

I receive calls from this number. They left a message that identified them as BB&T and asked me to call them back with a reference number. I did not call back.

I have been getting 3 calls a day from 866-877-9385 claiming to be BB&T and asking for my SS#. I have picked up and waited to see if a person comes on but it is always just a recording. I don't have an account with BB&T and I have no outstanding bills. It is driving me crazy. They called me this morning at 5:30AM. I am looking to block the number.

I got this call twice this week, claim to be BB&T, which is a bank.

My husband recieves a phone call last night from a man claiming to be from Bank of America. He said that there was some unusual charges on our account. He already had alot of our information so my Husband went along with him answering any qustions that he had and provided him with further information. The man assured us that he was gonna take care of everything and said that they were going to send us new cards. He told my husband that he was going to transfer him to claims...at that point the phone disconnected for no reason. My husband didn't think anything of it. Today when I called to inquire my account balance I relized something was wrong. We checked our online banking and noticed that there were fraud charges made today. When my husband contacted Bank of America about what was going on they had no records of fraud charges other than the ones today. My husband then went and googled the number that called him the other day it brought us to this site. Luckly we caught it in time and the bank fixed everthing. If you get a call from anyone saying that they are from the bank dont be so quick to give them any information... hang up and call the bank yourself. THEY GOT US, DON'T LET THEM GET YOU!

I got the same call here in Virginia.  Same number asn asked me to reference another number when I called back.  Busy signal all the time.  My wife said they had called today earlier, and she picked it up since caller ID said BB&T.  They were trying to sell her "services" none of which she wanted.  Presumably, if you said yes, they would ask for personal info.  Wisely, she ended the call.

This isn't a scam. I called them back basically to make fun of them for being stupid and the person I talked to provided me with there employee ID number and name. I called BBT loans and confirmed it with them directly and was informed yes it is one of there numbers and the respresentive i spoke to is a BB&T employee. Note it is NOT BB&T Bank its BB&T Loans. Two completely different parts of the company.

I get a call from this number (almost) every afternoon at about the same time. Today I finally called it back and there was a message that said something about BB&T and that if I wanted to speak with someone, I should enter the number on which they called me. I didn't go that far though because I was reading this site at the same time and I saw a lot things saying "Scam" and "BB&T"/

But did they give a reason for calling you? Or was it, like, telemarketing or something? Because there's no reason why BB&T loans would be calling me.

They have been calling me for days, 4 or 5 times a day from this number.  They know my name and ask me to confirm my social security number, that is when I hung up the first time.  Now I just send them to voicemail.

We were one month late on a BB&T loan payment.  Received a call from this number, asking for last 4 digits of SS, and when entered the recording stated the loan number and the overdue amount.  Called BB&T loans today at 800-222-1913, number from my loan statement, and talked to the representative.  She stated that the 866-877-9385 number was from them and is legit.  She also indicated they were aware of the web posting but this number was from them and when you get a call they will only ask for the last 4 digits for ID, never the entire SS number.  If you have a BB&T loan suggest you call the number in this note to discuss.  Please recognize there are ways to "spoof" a phone number so if you get such a call there still is a risk.

Same automated call supposedly from BBT.  They call - I hang up.  Contacted BBT -  they may be harder to deal with that the scammers.

this # calls me ever so often usually when im a couple days late on my truck payment and they want to know why im late or am i going to make a payment soon.Oh yeah and the loans through bb&t.

This party/robo calls frequently and it's early morning hours at times, around 7:30/8:00AM.
I don't answer and let my message machine pick it up, but when it does, it rings about 4 times, hangs up and then a fast busy signal comes on.  Annoying as HELL...

Just spoke to BB&T, this is not a call from them, it is a scam. BB&T does not ask for the last 4 digits of the SS#, they already have that info.

Been getting calls from this # for about 4 weeks.  They call 4 and 5 times a day, all various times of day and night.  Recording claims to be BB&T and asks for last 4 of social.  SCAM.

I've been getting a call every day from 866-877-9385. Never missed a day for the past 2-3 months.

Same here. I put a block on it for a week and then took it off to see what would happen. Within 5 minutes I got this call again.
