I answered the third time they called.  The recording said they are BB&T and they have urgent information for me.  They asked me if my name was...  I hit "1" for yes.  Then they asked for the last four of my social, so I hung up and called the BB&T number on the website directly from my land line.  The representative said she had no record of their attempting to contact me at all in the last three months.  This is definitely a scam, and I am filing a police report.

I also got this call and I hung up when they asked me last 4 of my SS#. Claims to be BB&T  SCAM!!!

This number 866-877-3985 keeps calling me and insisting on me giving them the last 4 digits of my social security number. Stating they were BB&T bank. I did not give my number but hung up and called the bank, the bank does not ask for that info.
Please stop these people!

How do I get them to STOP CALLING!!!!?

From what I have heard, if you have a time warner bundle, a computer hacker can phone you, keep you on line long enough to hack into your computer system through the time warner system………..  and then steal your personal information and any credit cards that you may have used to purchase things on line.

Does anyone have an address for these idiots?  Or another number besides this 866 number where I can call them back?  I only have 60 minutes a month on my cell phone - it's for emergencies only.  How they got my number I don't know because I don't have an account with BB&T, now or ever.  They call me as early as 8AM and as late as 10PM, and they call on Saturdays and Sundays.  This must be illegal.

get about 7 calls a day... then they called my sons cell phone?? .. he's a minor schild.. he answered it and when i took thephone from him  they asked me to cerify my SSN... NOT a  CHANCE!!!

1-866-877-9385 calls over and over.   This is not a legit call.   How do I make them stop?

I'm getting the same call! When I answer, I get nothing but silence. I just want to know how they got my unpublished #! I do have an account @ BB&T & this is a cell phone.  But, it seems to me that after all these years of annoyance, they could land these people! Is there ANYTHING that we - the annoyed & aggravated can do?!?

I recently bought a new vehicle and financed it through BB&T,  now I receive calls from this number but I did not call it back - I checked online first and found these posts, I called BB&T direct and they do not know who is using this line but it is not theirs.

This is BB&T.  I co-signed on a car loan for a family member.  This number calls me almost every month to let me know the family member has not paid their monthly payment yet, and yes I give them the last 4 of my SS# to verify who I am.  I have spoken with them and the are polite and friendly I tell them to call me back if the payment is not paid by the time a late fee would be applied so I can make the payment.  Havinf said that if you are getting calls from them, you either used your number, an employee used your number, or a family member or firned listed you as a reference.  So if you want them to quit calling find out who they are calling for and tell that person to pay their bills on time and you wont get the call anymore.

Have been getting the calls too. Pre-recorded message when you answer to Press 1 if you are...or 2 if you are ...  In my case the 1 and 2 are my mother & myself as we do have a joint loan account with BBT.  I refuse to enter the last 4 of my ssn, so I wait on the line. Finally someone picks up. I told them I would not give that information out an was told if I was uncomfortable I could go to my local branch. Thai is exactly what I intend to do. Also when I asked to be removed and have the calls stopped, I was told that could not be done unless I verified the personal information they were asking for. So the calls keep coming....

I get a call from these people every evening around the same time.  On weekends and holidays, they call early in the morning too.  This past Saturday, they called at 8:00 am, and they even called Christmas Day.  I want it to stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I m being recieving from the same people 1866-877-9385 phone calls every day.  I called back and an automatic message asked me the same crap to confirm if I am (xxxxx) me and after I confirm asked me for the last 4 of my social security. I hang up and called bb&t and the told me that they dont ask for the last 4 that definetely is a scam.  PEOPLE BEWARE OF THAT NUMBER.

I have been getting these calls off and on for several months. Sometimes no message is left, sometimes a message with a code number is given - to use the code as a reference when calling back. I did call  back on one occasion. However I refused to give the last four of my social. Person I spoke to told me if I was uncomfortable speaking to him to just go to my local branch and they would help me. My branch is unfamiliar with these calls. Also I asked the man to remove me from the calling list. He said he could not do that unless I gave him the required info he needed to verify the account. What's up with that. He insisted he could do nothing to remove my number. My bank is aware of the calls, but can't seem to do anything about it.

Yesterday was a snow day and my office was closed. They had called three times from this number. There was one message left. Some one with an accent, said his name is Rodney Bocus, he is calling  from Collect Corp. Gave his number and extension: 1-866-977-7567, ext. 8670.
Told me to call and make a payment, before they take further action. He also gave a reference number.

Thanks to Google, I found this link and a lot others, some with the same last 4 digits. Stories more or less and all related to money. I never call back, they may also have a new way of slaming a charge on your phone bill..
