- SL| 1 replyAnswered my 12 year old sons cell phone to a recorded message, please hold the next available assistant will be with you, over a minute later the call was disconnected. if indeed they are a collection agency they do not fallow federal laws. federal law states, when robocalling, after the person picks up they must speak within 2 seconds of the answer. our cell phones and numbers are only two months old.
- Amber| 3 repliesi got a call from this number claiming to be a law office. How can a collection agency claim they are a law office?

- Genevieve| 1 replyI have received a number of calls from the Law offices of Mitchell D. Bloom. They are trying to collect on an ER visit from 2005. I never received the bill because it was sent to the wrong address. The first person I spoke with "Ken" said that he would see that the hospital sends be an itemized bill. I get a call 4 days later from a different person. He told me that Ken was wrong to tell me that. Now I am being told that I am supposed to write to the hospital and ask for a copy of the bill. Not going to happen because Ken is already taking care of it. 9 days later I get a call from a Ms. Patterson. She is nasty and rude. Told me that Ken was not the associate on my account. She would not listen to what I had to say. Didn't care that I had already spoken with someone there and that things were in the works. I told her I did not want them to call me anymore. She said too bad, that I would continue to get calls until I made the payment. While I was detailing to Ms. P the history of my calls with them, she terminated the call. If this company thinks they are going to get me to pay with the rudeness of Ms. P, they have another thing coming. I always pay my bills and if the hospital had sent the bill to the correct address (which they have in the system from previous visits) then I would have paid it.

- The Yak| 2 repliesMitchell D. Blum (and assoicates) are not lawyers and this is not a law firm, although Mitchell is a lawyer, he runs a business that specializes in BUYING, for pennies on the dollar, debt from Hospitals and Health Care providers and then employing a bunch of 20-somthing low lifes, some might be paralegals or paralegals-in-training to essentially call and use the internet to find and harass the debtors. Regardless of the circumstances, you'll find two things: (1) you pay THEM, since they bought the debt, and (2) they will bargain with you for a lesser amount, as this is their profit margin.
They have no legal teeth, they can report you to the collection agency and little beyond that ... oh yeah, and call you relentlessly with idle threats and banter of that sort.
If you really do owe someone some money, you can settle with them, but my suggestion is to ignore them and re-contant the original debt holder and work something out.
This is a "for profit" group who specialize in creating the image they are a big-time legla firm, in reality they are little more then sweat shop tele-threateners who seek your money.- Caller: Micthell D. Blum and Associates

- Parker Douglas| 1 replyMitchell D. Bluhm is a FINANCIAL SERVICES company that buys debt from healthcare outfits, and then uses the old telephone and intimidation to collection moeny. They are by-and-large a bunch of 20-something paralegal wanna-bes that could not get legit legal work, and so resort to this sort of job.
Its a line of phone and lists they get in a variety of ways to entice you to send them a check to void the debt ... htat may or may not happen, but they will cash in your funds sent to them, but it probably won't fix your credit.
Better off to ge their info, rthen hang-up, and if you wish to settle a debt contact the original debtor and pay them direct. If you send a check they must clear your account.
Just don't send these vultures your money ...
MITCHELL D. BLUHM and ASSOCIATES are nothing more then tele-bullies who want to get you to send cash, using any sort of debt connection they can make to you.
Don't pay them ... I also had a debt, then paid it, and Mitchell Bluhn, actually a jacka$$ named Jimmy Hackney, tried to get my check "again" and would not entertain for a second that I legitimately paid the debt. He got real pissy when I challenged him ... a real tosser that guy. I got the entry off my creidt report, so no harm to me ...- Caller: Mitchell D. Bluhm

- texasgrl replies to Mystery| 11 repliesidiot. i hope the hospital you pay gives you a receipt. and yes, the law firm will get the money. the company that put your account there OWNS the debt. the hospital that gave you service GAVE UP ON YOU PAYING YOUR BILL YOU DEADBEAT!!!
you think that you are proving something by paying the provider... maybe you should have paid them at the time of service... or maybe after your insurance told you what you owed from your EOB!! now, years after the fact... you have the unmitigated gall to have moral outrage. give me a freakin break.
hospitals are NOT financial institutions. you being a deadbeat and not paying them is equivalent to taking out an INTREST FREE LOAN. grow up.. pay your bill. - unknown replies to Robertcall their patient advocacy group at 888-893-0171

- John| 6 repliesI got a call from these people the other day. They told me I owed a bill and I told them that I am sure that I paid it. Come to find out I was wrong and owed the money. Just like most of you do. Stop trying to get out of your financial obligations.
- Anonymous replies to Robert| 1 replyIf they are still calling then they probably need some more info. Answer the phone and explain what is going on. I am sure that someone in the office will be happy to help you. If someone that answers isn't being helpful then ask for a manager.
- LAMET replies to John| 4 repliesBS POST BY A DEBT COLLECTOR - PROBABLY WORKS FOR THEM
They are the only ones who make statements like "stop trying to get out of you financial obligations" - Anonymous replies to deleted postNot all bill collectors are bad people. Most of them want to help people get their bills resolved. We just have to deal with a lot of people that are in stressful situations and take it out on us.
- Anonymous replies to Beau| 1 replyJust answer the phone and give them that info. Igoring this will not help any and I am sure that someone in the office will be more than happy to help you.
- Big DaddyJust got a call from MITCHELL D. BLUHM and ASSOCIATES. I had been connected to an associate. Before they could say anything I told them that I would be recording this conversation for quality assurance. I have several of the conversations with them recorded using this line. But now they just hang up, due to the scare tactics they cannot use no more. Yes I do record them. I have no unpaid debt. I have sent them certified copies of my insurance company paying the bills they say I owe. Nothing but a bunch of $7.00 an hour paralegals in training.

- MichaelThese idiots keep calling my wife's cell phone number. I have told them at least 3 or 4 times that they are dialing a wrong number but they just keep calling. When they call back I'm going to tell them that the person that they are trying to reach recently died and ask them to have some respect for his loved ones by not calling again. If they call back again, I'm going to tell them that I recently won the lottery and am moving out of the country so they had better serve me with suit papers within the next 30 days or else they'll be out of luck. At least then they might be able to catch up with whatever dead beat used my wife's cell phone number in the first place.

- none replies to very pissed off| 14 repliesNot all of the collectors are rude. It sucks that one bad apple can make the whole company look bad. But that being said I can understand why that makes you mad. Just keep in mind that you put yourself in this position. And it is frustrating when it is obvious that someone just wants to get you off the phone. Like hanging up is going to solve anything. But also the collector being rude to you doesn't solve anything either. Also calling in and threatening to sue doesn't fix anything. Nothing illegal was done anyways. It SHOULD be illegal for people to recieve services and not to pay for them. Theft of services or something. Anyway, you may need to swallow your pride, call them back, and work with them on a payment arrangement or something. If you don't like the associate that answers the phone request to talk to someone else.
- none replies to YANI| 1 replyIf you are concerned about your credit you should pay the full balance so that the credit report will be updtated faster.
- Cactus Jack| 4 repliesI received a call from this same number and yes they are a debt collector. Turns out I let something slip through the cracks but I do what every red-blooded American should do, I paid it. I can understand the frustration about the wrong number, but when it comes to someone calling me about some of my unfinished business I have to take that call. I can't relate to any one of you that want to bash the business instead of taking care of yours.
