David Michaels misrepresenting himself stating he worked for the National Attorney's offices, when he actually works for National Collections.  David Michaels wanted me to pass on information to a friend regarding her pending case.  When I asked him for their address and what type of claim, he said oh my God, I can't discuss some else's case with you, just pass the information along and HUNG up in my face - as if I would really pass along any information with that type of behavior.  I called back I asked for a manager and got Ms. Wilford, who was just as ignorant and actually told me they had did nothing wrong - eventhough they both mis represented themselves nor could she provide me with an address.  It sould be ILLEGAL for companies to set up shop without a legal address - SHAMEFUL!

I received a call on my cell leaving a message it was imperitive that they get in touch with (confidentual information) not knowing who it was and it did seem important so I called them back was told to use ext. 286, I did got a man named Harrison MCkensey (If a real name) gave him who I was and told me it was imperitive to get in touch with (confidentual name) when I asked what it was about he informed me about not letting (confidentual name) get a supena??  Since when do collection agencies know about supenas??  Mr. Mckensey put me on hold twice after the 2nd time I told him to not put me on hold anymore, is that understood, that is when he became irate, very UNPROFESSIONAL, if he is a professional, I think not, then hung up on me.  I called back talked to a "supervisor" got Paige and she also began wanting to put me on hold, she was also very rude wanted to pass the call back to Harrison, I told her no and to let me speak to her supervisor and got Jeramiah Lamb, who was just as bad wanted to know why I called back.  I wanted to make a complaint, which as you guessed got no where.  They do not want to talk to you, have no respect for human beings, they want "money" and money only, do not care about other people, only how they can make everyone elses life miserable even if you are not in financial difficulty and these persons would be the last person I would utilize for anything.  This will also go to the BBB.

Sue... Did you ever stop to think that since it is a collections/lawfirm/whatever you want to call it, clearly a telemarketing-esque company that there very well may be HIGH call volume and that if someone puts you on hold it could be to answer another line, put them on hold, and go back to you? As a person who HAS worked in collections before, I quite often would get a multiple calls WHILE on the phone with someone. Protocol dictates you ask them to hold for a moment, answer the other line, put them on hold, then go to the original call. High call volume would clearly mean this could happen multiple times on one call. Clearly he wasn't ignoring you since he went back to YOUR CALL twice, as you even said. As for the hanging up on you, do you think it might be possible that he hung up on you BECAUSE you became irate with him and, since they're not customer service, he didn't have to listen to you (presumably) yell at him? Maybe had YOU dealt with the situation a little differently, it would have gone differently. Like I said, I have worked in collections, it's not really a pleasant job to work in, however, we do what we have to in order to get by. Maybe you should stop being so judgmental and relax a little bit.

Received several calls at work and on a personal cell phone from Lorraine at National Attorneys.  Said I have a payday loan that was taken out about a year ago and never paid on.  She wanted me to give her information that she said she had in front of her and I refused.  I called back and the receptionist could not give me any information on the company or it's website.  I was eventually passed to Evan Stone who stated that he could not give me a website or physical address for the sake of safety.  I asked him why he was refusing to give out information on a "legitimate" business but didn't have a problem asking very personal information of those individuals he was calling at work.  He told me to call Quick Cash, Buck Eye Checks and/or Check-N-Go and they would give him a good reference.  He did finally say that they were a collection agency and not a law firm but that is as much as he would say.

If it smells like a fraud.....it usually is.

I received a call from this number today and he said the same thing that you stated on your note.  I have no idea.  We are in Chapter 13 bankruptcy and I have given everything to my attorney, I gave him their phone number and his extension I even gave them my bankruptcy chapter filing number.  I haven't heard back from him yet.

My girlfriend has been recieving calls from David michaels about some gut whom neither of us know and  when I called to have the phone number removed from the list I spoke to "David michaels", who introduced himself as David but then proceeded to tell me David michaels wasn't available. This place is a joke. Let's see if he actually removed the number.... Good luck!

These people keep calling me over and over again about a payday loan that needs to be repayed.  I have been working with them for the last two months making payments to get this taking care of.  Yesterday due to a misunderstanding this company couldn't get my card to run through and a supervisor got on the phone and was very rude.  He started cussing me out telling me that they were going to forward my case to some lawyers and not give me back my money I have already paid to them.  After calling the payday loan corporate office I found out that this company did indeed work for them and that the money I had been paying has actually been going to my debt and that since I had been paying on it even if I stopped cooperating with this company they could no longer take me to court.  So this is just a heads up if you get a call from this company call the corporate office they are calling about and make sure they are indeed represented by this company and that the payments you make are actually going to your debt, but be careful these people feel like they can talk to you any way they want to, they are very rude and unprofessional,  but they are real.

Then I get call from a comany calling the selves Titon Collections, they tell me the have someone trying to find me to serve me papers. After talking with I find out that National Attorney is most likely a faurd basaed company. Not sure what to do I sent up a payment plan with them too. An set out to google both, this is how I found this site. I know the N A is not going to get any more money. As for Titon they are going to send papers, I will wait 2 weeks for the papers. If I don't get the papers I am going to my local Distric Attorney.

Hello group. I am now upset the contact I have been getting from them as well. Numerous calls from them at work and home. Not sure what to do. I threatened to take it to an attorney- and, the individual, Evan, became irate. Stated that I should have the attorney contact them. He, too, would not tell me what this was all about. Is this a scam? I also noticed when they call, a different number shows up. Even after requesting that my #
is a do not call- they still continue to call and pretend as if it was never requested.

Any updates? Is this really a scam?

I dealt with this company in July of 2010 paid the PDL off and requested showing tha it was paid in full I dealt with a Natile Kurshaw.  She was very helpful.  When I did the pay off for less then actually owed she told me she would send a letter showing this was paid in full.  I waited for a couple of months and had not received the letter so I called her back.  She did send a letter showing the debt was paid in full. Yesterday I received a call from Hansen Law Office and Associates for this same payday loan. they want Money they told me that there are 3 civil suites against me and pending court case.  I had recieved nothing from them until this phone call. So, if you do pay off your loan with National Attorney Collection Services, INC. make sure you have them send you a paid in full letter even if you have to call more than once.

Tell them to stop calling you at work...and they have to by law stop calling.  I dealt with National Attorney Collection Services, Inc. in July of last year. The only problem now is I received a call yesterday from a differant collection place for the same check I paid off in July of last year. This one calls themselves Hansen Law Offices and Associates. But, the answering machine says recovery something leave a name and number for return call they also have a bunch of differant numbers that they are using the one I was given to call is 866-531-6617 I also reported them to the FTC web site. You can file complaints there if you wish

This is a great thread, I got my first call from them today. I read this thread and now how to provide. In my case I have been working through HCCI , the company I owe has been recieving regular payments. They are violating so many laws in the phone conversation, I am looking into what my states AG can do about them.

Funny thing was, I called the company I owe a debt to and they just got a check and cash it today.
