I got a call in Australia from this number, also saying BookWorld.com talking about  my booklet that I sell through our website, so pleased I came across this website, I won't bother calling back.

Darn. I just returned a call from this number (because how great would it be if someone called out of the blue with interest in my book!) and left a message. Then I googled the number and found this. Now I'm ignoring all the calls and messages that are coming in. Thanks for posting about this!

Received an almost impossible to understand call on a terrible line (Skype? sorry Skype ...) but I did catch the number 877-207-1679, ext. 323, without the international prefix I would need for calling the US. Something about my book. Don't know how they got my mobile - it's not on any of my websites. Glad my sense of smell-a-scam is healthy and I found this site!

My wife got a call from this group while I was sleeping. The date was Wed, 05 Sep, 2012. The ext was 378. The person's name was Marko. I decided to Google the number just to find out about the firm. If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. I publish through Lulu Press in North Carolina, so I am interested in talking to people who might make me the next best selling author. It is obvious that I need to be very careful. If it is going to cost me, ain't no way. If my books are that good, they will pay me for the privilege.

Just received a call from this number with ext 323, woman named Melissa Adits.  I called the number and the recording loop sounded just like the woman on the message. unfortunately, and because my brother had just sent out a bunch of queries, we returned the call and asked to be contacted at my cell.  I looked up what sounded like Book World, but figured that was not it so I searched the number and got here. I told my brother I get cold calls every now and then and most are scams. It was too late, my cell was distrubuted but I will block all calls. I have dealt with them before, but never responded to any of their calls. Live and learn.

I received a mesaage from this number.  In a very garbled voice the woman said she was Jen Daniels calling from (what sounded like) Bookworld.com.  She asked for me by name and knew the title of the book I wrote.  

I am glad I searched for her name and bookworld.com and found this website.  If they are legitimate and want to sell my book, they just have to contact the publisher.

Same call as above from 877-207-1679 ext 323, Melissa Adams. Had to listen to message three times to get it right, became suspicious. Can't be sure, BOOK WORLD OR BOOK WHIRL.

Thanks for all the postings! I received this same phone call from 877-207-1679. The person who called said his name was Marcus Morales. This was on my answering machine and I listened to it several times to be sure I got it right.  Before even thinking about returning that call, I decided to check it out.  Glad I did.

I got the same message and the same extension number: 378, for a man calling himself Marces (or Marco) Morales.

Like me, you have received a call from Book Whirl, not Book World. Book Whirl is an advertising company, and yes, paying $900 a month is common for large scale advertising. Book World is a privately owned book store located in the the upper mid-west.

The business associated with this number is Book Whirl, which is a advertising company. Yes, it is not uncommon to pay $900 a month to promote your book!

Yes, whoever calls sounds like they are saying Book World, which they are not. Book World is a private book chain in the upper mid-west.

I have  a call from this company and it sure sounds like they are saying Book World.

I received calls from Marco Morales regarding my self-published book on both my home and cell phones today--I was at work and didn't get the messages until later. Thank you to everybody who posted regarding this; now I won't call back!

Received two calls within one week from BookWorld.com. "Have important questions about your book."  Named the publishing company.  Left message to return the call at 877-207-1679, Ext 378, Name "Michael Morales."  Left message for him at BookWorld.com to call me but we won't answer his calls now that we have researched your web site. Thanks!

I also received a call from the same phone number and she was very slurred. something about a book. bet she's a scam artist.

Got this number on my phone after missing the call.  Checked it out here and think it is a hoax.  Thanks to everyone who wrote about it.

What part of "no" don't these imbeciles understand? I'm not interested in their scam. I've been telling the little [***] that for three years now and they still call. Three times today!

extentions ranging from 330 through 379?
That's 50 extentions.  I'm doing fine just cashing
the checks.  Why would I want to pay them?

If they manage to catch me by phone, I'll give them
a spiel about why theu should buy my book.
I wonder if they are calling publishers to advertise for
them.  

By the way...  The do not call list is a joke.  They do nothing!
