They called my house at 8:43 am which is illegal because you can only call after 9:00 am.  It makes me mad that they keep calling me and no matter how many times they call, I will never answer the phone.  I do not answer blocked numbers, 1-800 or 1-877 numbers and any other number that I do not recognize.  What are they going to do come to my house and make me answer the phone by gunpoint?  I pay the bill and I answer the phone only when and if I fell like it.  There is nothing to get here because I do not own my place to stay.  Maybe they want my teenager but they cannot have my teenager either.

I'm on your side, but per the FDCPA third party collection agencies are allowed to call between 8AM-9PM local time:

§ 805.  Communication in connection with debt collection   [15 USC 1692c]

(a) COMMUNICATION WITH THE CONSUMER GENERALLY.  Without the prior consent of the consumer given directly to the debt collector or the express permission of a court of competent jurisdiction, a debt collector may not communicate with a consumer in connection with the collection of any debt --
--at any unusual time or place or a time or place known or which should be known to be inconvenient to the consumer. In the absence of knowledge of circumstances to the contrary, a debt collector shall assume that the convenient time for communicating with a consumer is after 8 o'clock antimeridian and before 9 o'clock postmeridian, local time at the consumer's location...

My wife gets a call ,they are looking for me and won't say what its for ,,have called repeatedly last 2 days,, I 'm offshore China ,,I call number and get a busy,,, I'm stopping my hard line and only using my cel number ,,its too bad I've had my hard line for 10 years now,,its gotten to be such a pain,,only spam call on it now,,are cel is are primary,,good bye hard line,,

I'm pretty sure this is Palisades...they're trying to collect on a Chrysler deal from me too, but it's long been settled and I told them it's way past the statute of limitations, they need to stop calling...I get called by them 2-3 times a day.  My # is also a work # they must have recently gotten somehow.  I never had this # back then, it's a cell, not listed, and registered with the National DO-NOT-CALL list.

Received a VM from this number phone them back from Landline.  That line is private.  Asked name of company and the gentleman that answered the call refused to give me name of company. Say he won't give me the name of company until he was given my name and number.  Is this how business is run???

This was just the info I was going to post about the act that protects us.  I have two people trying to collect from em from 15 yrs ago lol

this number calls my cell number several times a day, never leaves a message. WHO are these people and how did they get my cell number? i did an 'opt out' for my cell number but they still call.

i called the number, they actually answered and, they are debt collectors with 'out-dated' information. i reqested they remove my number immediately. they 'said' they would...they also lied when they said they only call once a day - they have called 4 times today already, so, don't know what i believe they are now. i do know they are rude - - - .

Keep receiving calls from this number at all hours of the day/night. When I answer, they say nothing and then hang up. It is making me crazy!

called at 0815. did not answer the phone but i called the number back. they did not identify themselves by company only as joe. i told them to take my number off their list. kept asking do you know crystal, i need an answer. told them i was on the no-call list and not to call this number again.

This number has been calling my land line # REPEATEDLY for some time.  I finally decided to pick up to try to end this.  A recording came on saying there was an important message for someone with my first name, but a different last name.  I hung on for a while in the hopes of clearing it up, but gave up.  (if it's so important, why wasn't there a person there to talk to me?)


I've had this number for 14 years & I'm on the do not call list.  This shouldn't be happening.

From looking at the comments above & my own suspicions, I think it's a collection agency with the wrong number.  But how do I make it stop?

I called the number back and someone answered gave his name as john and he is with Van Ru Debt Collections.  Working for Palisades Debt Collection Service.

Don't take any calls from them contact an attorney cause if you do background checks on both of these companies there are lots of complaints and illegal practices going on with them.

Got a call from some RUDE girl asking for my husband after 830pm at night - not acceptable -wouldnt give name or company -then hung up on me saying she will call back and speak with someone who is not as rude!!!!  When I called the number back -the guy acted like this was HIS phone and his friend just placed a call from HIS phone -the girl was in background and a few people were laughing. They still wouldnt say the company or reason for call. Had my husband call -they are looking for someone completely different who owns a debt in another town.  Called this morning and reported unprofessionalism to a manager-apparently they record all calls and will look into - -at least thats what he said. Supposedly took our phone number out of their system but advised that due to our phone extension matching related inquiries and other city thats how he was chosen to be called.

They keep calling here and hanging up when I answer . I won't waste my time calling them back to see what they want.

Called and asked for my son. I told her that he was deceased. She said, "Well, thats not what our records show." "When did he die?" I said 15 years ago. She said, well we will call later and I told her they better not call anymore. I think it was a collection agency scam trying to get money

Calls and says an name I cannot understand or says hello hello, if I don't give my name or if I ask why they are calling they hang up get phone calls at least twice a day all hours of days sometimes they even use differnt number....this is getting never racking

they called and left a message on our phone saying they were a debt collector and needed to call them right back. I called and they wanted my last four digits of my ss #, duh do you think i'm going to give that out. so she gave me 4 numbers and no they weren't mine. she said o sorry we have the wrong person. STOP SCAMMERS. Don't give out any personal info!!

these inconsiderate idiots call almost every morning before 9am!! I thought there were some guidelines or rules that prohibit that. Nobdoy here owes anyone any money so I don't know what they want. I never answer the phone when it is a number I don't know.

Computerized message left on my machine said they were attempting to collect a debt, they identified themselves as Van Ru, and were using my maiden name. I have had another company do this recently, and I know for a fact that I have no debts to pay, just my regular monthly payments I make for credit cards, etc.  Sounds like a scam to me, or they're trying to track down someone else with my same name.

These people call and ask for a lady named Belinda or her daughter (which i have no idea who this is) and promise to take my name off of their calling list. Then amazingly it must reappear because these jack [***] start the call process again and leave messages looking for the same person again. Never leaves a name of the company name. Have  been calling since about 2005 stone fools.
