They also kept repeating a social security number and asked if it was mine...anybody can say yes or no to it. That information is private and how did he get a social security number and felt as tho it was mines.. The nerve of some people. Then he wanted my address to send me some information to collect the debt... I called him a damn fool and hung up. I did not give any information.

We do not have any outstanding debts.  Could barely understand the foreign accent of the person calling.  We do not intend to return the call.

I have excellent credit, nothing overdue and it's a scam.  Got a recording--asked for my SS#.  Right.

Repeated calls w/no information regarding the "debt" I supposedly owed. (NONE).  I called back-got a machine--asked for my SS#.  (Not given).

More calls--called back--got a nice-enough person.  Asked for the last 4 digits of my SS# after verifying my telephone number.  They had it wrong, apologized, and promised my name would be removed.  We'll see.

These guys are [***]. They start calling every morning at 7:59 which pisses us off because my husband works nites. They never leave a message.

Today, I was fed up, I  called the number back. The lady who answered said they were looking for an employee "John Smith". I laughed and told her that her company needs to lose our number. We will see.

I just got a call, but I don't answer unknown callers.

They have been calling several times a week for about 6 months.  I just recently found out about this from my wife, who is home more often than I.

They say they are trying to reach a person with an oriental-sounding name I am unfamiliar with.  I am not sure how they got this number, as we have had it for over 3 years.

I have called back multiple times requesting they stop calling our number, but cannot reach a live person, and the messages I leave for them are apparently ignored.

The following describes a government action that has been resolved by either a settlement or a decision by a court or administrative agency. If the matter is being appealed, it will be noted below.

On September 26, 2011, the State of Minnesota's Department of Commerce entered into a consent order with Van Ru Credit Corporation. Mike Rothman, the Commissioner of Commerce (hereafter the Commissioner), alleged that Van Ru Credit Corporation failed to establish adequate screening procedures when hiring individual collector applicants, failed to properly screen debt collector registrations before submitting license renewal requests to the Commissioner, employed three collectors with felony criminal backgrounds, and failed to notify the Commissioner of at least 15 employee terminations for verbally abusing debtors, using profanity, and third party disclosure violations.

In response to these charges, Van Ru Credit Corporation has taken corrective action, including establishing new procedures to strengthen their screening process, submitting that screening process to the Commissioner for review, subjecting all current debt collectors to that screening process, and establishing auditing procedures and agency policies to ensure that criminal convictions of its debt collectors are promptly reviewed and acted upon.

Van Ru Credit Corporation has also been ordered to pay a civil penalty of $65,000.

This is obviously a SCAM. I've received several of this variety of call, from differing numbers. If you LISTEN, you will hear: "Send me your money". It doesn't matter if it's for a Chrysler or condoms, they just want your money. I got a call from this number today, but it was an automated system that used an odd permutation of my name and said if your are not .... please hang up now, so I did. IF, they call back, I may use a more direct approach. My family was once PLAGUED by a woman from Monkey Wards, after I had been injured and could not pay on my account (I had their "deferred payment insurance", but it wouldn't pay as I wasn't permanantly disabled). She told my wife that they would TAKE OUR HOME and CPS would TAKE OUR CHILDREN, because we would not be able to house them. It took some doing, but I got HER on the line. She was very nice and polite to ME. We made small talk till I found out where her office was and then, I told her if she EVER called my family again, I would come there and "hurt" (I used another word) her. "THEY" (Monkey Wards) never called or wrote again and the I had the "stain" removed from my credit record, quite easily.

They continue calling me and I do not answer anymore.  I do  not know why they call.  They asked my social ssecurity number so they would tell me why they are calling.

Have been receiving calls from Van Ru Credit Corporation regarding an alleged unpaid Master Card debt. I have never had a Master Card, ever. When I told the man from Van Ru that, he said, "That doesn't matter, you owe the debt." I told him, "I have no contract with you under the UCC" and told him not to call again. Then, I discovered their corporate email address: corporate@vanru.com and sent them an email requesting full disclosure of the alleged debt...no response by email; but got another phone call via my answering machine which I ignored. My next step will be to contact my State's attorney general and the FTC regarding this fraudulent nuisance.
