Thanks for the info guys. I to are recieving call from these guys and before I answer their call I wanted to know who they were. I see their a scam like those that steal your email password if your not careful and try to trick your friends to answered their scam. I have a 1992 dogege van. Paid cash so why would they want me. Only the Devil knows and he been after me for years. Wants me to come over to  his side. So watch out he after you to.

Received two calls from this number asking for a person I've never heard of. We've had the same phone number for 18 years and no one else lives here. When I asked the caller to explain who he was and why he was calling me, and he became verbally abusive.

We keep receiving unwarranted bill collector calls from this number.  No unpaid bills in 0ver 40 years.

Received a call on my cell phone asking for a former last name that I had not used since my divorce 8 years ago.  Told them I did not know that person because its got to be some sort of scam.

Just got a call from this number today. A Sunday. Normally we don't receive any b.s. calls on a weekend, definitely not on a Sunday. New level of pain in the ass.

If I get just ONE MORE CALL from these audio-taped idiots, I'm going to explode! They have called my house FOUR TO FIVE WEEKS' STRAIGHT at least once a day! It's a recording of a female trying to collect money from a "George Gallahan" or something like that...She says she's with the "Bamboo, something, something" Collection Agency...I'd like to stick a 10-foot bamboo pole up her, err, nose! Please track these cons down for me! Thank you!

Perhaps you have misheard the name "Van Ru", or the caller has Marble Mouth. This name has been cited a few times already prior to your comment. It is not the place of anyone in this thread to "track down" anything for you, only to try to add to collective wisdom.

Since you're not the target of the skip trace, send a cease-comm notice via USPS Certified with card. The FTC and many consumer watchdogs explain how to draft one.

They called me today, I answered, but got a taped message that I could only hear the last name (mine). I called back the number on my caller ID, got put on hold, then a tape that says leave your acct#, your name, your phone # and the reason for your call. I left two messages, but no call. I do not owe anyone, and pay my bills. My car is paid for, and cannot figure what this is about. I haven't been chased by a credit agency since 1977. : ) I was thinking of checking my credit report to see what this might be, but I don't know if I should even spend the time, after reading all the posts......

You missed the point...some of us are getting calls from this number with A1 credit.  If you are that upset why don't you pay they're bills for them?

Have been receiving calls from this number, with threats of having me arrested for a "debt" that they refuse to identify. They repeated my SS# over the phone to me. I have requested info about this "debt" each time they call, and the only response they will give me it "You know why we are calling". I notified the AZ Aty Generals office and was advised that this is, most likely, an identity theft scam. They also advised, I should not give ANY additional info to them, and make every attempt to obtain as much info about the company as possible and forward it to the AG office asap.

Don't owe any bills, but they still call. Check your facts before you speak!

I got a call this morning, 6/16/11 stating they were call me about a tempt to collect a debit from 1996 for a Visa credit card. I never had credit or credit cards and I told the fool that. He then asked did I open it up and allowed someone to use it. What an A- hole! He never identified where he was calling from. I am also tired of NCO calling also for no reason..I do not owe then.
